Oelmann LX7 Digital Pager BUTTONS AND OPERATIONS

Buttons to control the pager are located on the front panel, and one special on its side.

  • READ

    • Cancels selection without change.
    • Opens received messages folder / Read. j MENU
  • Opens the function menu, and confirms the selection. k NAVIGATION

    • Navigation in the function menu.
    • Selecting/changing settings.
    • Scrolling through the messages.
  • HOME (COMFORT BUTTON)

    • Change to the home position.
    • Long keystroke: light on / off.
      If in the charger: relay / USB socket on.
      Can be pre-programmed / assigned to quick-access function (e.g. “Display rotation”).
  • STOP
    Special top key with protection against accidental pressing. Easily accessible then pager is in the desktop charger. Standardly assigned to the READ function. If key lock > for unlocking.

  • KEY LOCK
    If active, then keys are automatically locked to prevent unintentional pressing.
    Note: Cancelled by itself on message receiving.

  • READ-ONLY (SINGLE OPERATION)
    All keys except the key are deactivated. Cancellation by a long key press.

IMPORTANT NOTES

The pager is to be used for receiving the radio alerting of emergency services, e.g. re brigades, rescue or maintenance services, and for receiving important information. Any other use is not in accordance with the in-tended use.

  • Do not open the unit (loss of warranty).

  • Do not leave the unit in the hands of unattended children.

  • Defective batteries are hazardous waste, must be disposed of at designated collection points.

  • Do not dispose of batteries in are, as there is a risk of explosion.

  • Do not bring the unit into the vicinity of strong magnetic fields.

  • Protect the unit from direct sunlight.

  • Protect the unit from contact with water.

  • Do not operate the unit in areas where there is a risk of explosion.
    The pager is waterproof enough to protect it-self from damage even if submerged for a short time. To be able to guarantee this pro-tection, please note:

  • Battery compartment cover undamaged.

  • battery compartment seal clean.

  • Loudspeaker membrane undamaged.
    Note: All of the pager screenshots shown here are demonstration screenshots. The actual pager screens may differ from those shown here, as this depends on the pager program-ming.

BATTERY OPERATIONS

BATTERY REMOVAL
  • Slide the battery compartment lockers down in the direction of the arrows as shown.
  • Remove the battery compartment cover.
  • Remove battery.
INSTALLING THE BATTERY
  • Insert the battery with the contacts facing the unit’s contacts.
  • Insert the battery compartment cover.
  • Slide the battery compartment lockers in the opposite direction to the arrows shown.

BATTERY CHARGING
The battery can be charged in the pager by connecting the charging cable or by placing the pager in the table charger. The charging process starts automatically. Make sure the charging contacts are clean.
CHARGING INDICATOR
The display shows the charging activity: and the battery level (e.g. 80%). CHARGING CABLE
The USB charging cable has an easy-to-connect magnetic connector with reverse polarity protection, so the battery can be charged:

  • At home with any USB power supply unit,
  • In the office at the PC,
  • In the car,
  • Mobile with a power bank or a solar panel.

DESKTOP CHARGER

  • An external antenna can be connected to increase the reception sensitivity.
  • When an alarm is received, the USB socket (e.g. for an alarm lamp or siren) and the relay (potential-free RJ45 pins 1+3) are activated.
  • The relay/voltage of the USB connector can also be activated manually by a long press of the key.
    Note: Never store the battery outside of the pager when it is completely empty or fully charged.

TURN PAGER ON / OFF

The unit is switched on by a long press,  and switched off by the Main Menu.

INBOX / READ MESSAGE

All received messages are stored in the inbox folder.

  • Number of new messages received Number of all messages received Number of the current message in mem-
  • New / read / saved message
  • Time of message receiving
  • Text of the message itself
    Navigate to the entire message by simply selecting it: Note: New messages received are displayed with pre-programmed display backlight colors. The color is programmable and can be used to differentiate the messages.

HOME (BASIC DISPLAY MODE)

If the user is not working with the pager, the pager automatically switches to “Home” mode.
In this mode, the display shows all the main operating values of the pager at the moment. Oelmann LX7 Digital Pager-5

MAIN MENU

The main menu opens with the j key with a context-sensitive menu of pager settings and is divided into submenus for a better overview.
The pager can be individually configured for the application by programming. I.e. the functions described below can be deactivated (not available in the menu) by pre-program-ming.

ALARM TYPE LOUD / QUIET

The setting of the acoustic alarm type, its volume, and vibration.Oelmann

Selecting an operational profile. Each profile contains a set of pager parameters adapted to the application or situation. It is pre-pro-grammed prior to operation.

DISPLAY

Settings for the display functions. CHARACTER SIZE
Set the font size: small, normal or large.
LINE SPACING
Increase the line spacing of the message text. ” DISPLAY ROTATE
Rotate the information shown on the display.+ CONTRAST
Adjustment of the display contrast.
BACKLIGHT
Setting the backlight brightness. Can be also ON or OFF by holding the l button.
eCO MODE (POWER SAVING)
In “ECO Mode”, the display automatically turns off after a period of time. When any key is pressed or a message is received, the display returns to the active state. Recommended to increase an operation on a single charge.
HOME LOGO
If no new message is received or no pager warning, the pre-programmed image to be displayed.

SETTINGS

Settings of the alarm sounds, time, alarm clock and buttons lock.
CLOCK
Setting the current time and date.
ALARM CLOCK
Set the daily alarm clock. Confirm the alarm by pressing the l button for a long time.
KEY LOCK
Activation of the key lock.
SYSTEM
Includes basic pager settings, and information about the pager.
SYSTEM INFO
Displays the serial number, firmware version, and pager status.
NO PAGING SERVICE
Activation of the alarm in the absence of a paging radio network.
HOME BUTTON
The HOME key can be assigned to a frequently used function.
READ ONLY
Activation of the “Read Only” function. In this mode, all keys except the i key are deactivated. To release the mode by pressing and holding the l button.
SWAP BUTTONS (LEFT-HAND OPERATION)
Depending on the handling, it may be useful to swap the assignment of the j and I keys.

INBOX MENU / MENU READ

The Inbox Menu or a Read Menu opens in the Inbox folder or when reading a message and includes functions for displaying and processing messages.Oelmann LX7 Digital Pager-9 LOCK
A message can be protected against automatic overwriting and deletion.
DELETE
A read and unblocked message can be deleted. Deletion must be confirmed by pressing
DELETE ALL
All read and unsaved messages can be deleted at the touch of a button. The deletion must be confirmed.

MAINTENANCE AND CARE

  • Regularly check the battery for damage.
  • Clean the unit only with a damp cloth.
  • Do not use harsh cleaning agents.

ACCESSORIES (OPTIONAL)

  • Belt clip (holster)
  • Belt pouch.
  • safety chain, bungee cord.
  • USB charging cable with magnetic plug.
  • Desktop charger with USB connection cable, antenna connection, alarm relay and switched USB socket (e.g. for alarm light).
  • USB plug-in power supply unit.
  • Programming set (adapter with PC software)
