Jenny Holzer Sculpture Trail
In 2015, inspired by Oudolf Field and the surrounding landscape, Jenny Holzer
commissioned local craftsmen to carve boulders from native Somerset Purbeck
Thornback stone. The texts engraved are taken from Anne Carson’s English
translation of the ancient Greek poet, Sappho’s incomplete verse, ‘If Not,
Winter: Fragments from Sappho.’ It takes approximately 25 minutes to walk the
sculpture trail from start to finish.
