Operating Instructions

Connect to power
Plug the power cable into standard AC outlet or plug the car adapter into cigarette lighter of the vehicle. If the charger stand for 30s without inserting batteries or pressing the switch button,it will start the energy- saving function as brightness of LCD screen decreased. Any effective operation will wake the screen. -
Battery insertion
When a battery is first inserted, the s4 charger will run a short test to identify Li-ion/Ni-MH/ NI-Cd battery type and status. If the battery is reversed or bad, the LCD will display “Err”. When test is over, the s4 will enter into charging mode. -
Independently work
The s4 features 4 charging slots, each of which charges and monitors a battery independently.Rechargeable batteries of different chemistries and voltage may be charged simultaneously using either A or B or C or D slot. -
Battery charging and indication
While in charing mode, the battery indicator bars will blink rhythmically to indicate the ongoing charging precess. Default charging current is 500mA, short press A or B or C or D for 1s to select of 500mA or 1000mA. Press A or B or C or D over 5s to switch LiFePO4 and other battery charging mode.
Battery level will be displayed by the battery status bar:- One flashing.four off: less than 20%
- One bar constantly on,one flashing: 20%-40%
- Two bar constantly on,one flashing: 40%-60%
- Three bars constantly on,one flashling: 60%-8C%
- Four bars constantly on,one flashing: more than 80%
- Five bar constantly on: fully charged
- While charging,the corresponding channel will display voltage and the battery type.

Finish charging
The s4 charger will automatically stop charging when the battery is full, or when the charging time is above 8 hours. Remove batteries and unplug the power when charging is done.

Battery Activation
The $4 is capable of activating depleted Li-ion batteries with protective circuit. After battery installation, S4 will test and activate the battery before Charging. When a battery is detected as damaged, the LCD displays Err, and S4 terminatesits charging. Such damaged battery can not be activated by S4
NOTE: Eastshine does not recommend Charging OV(depleted) unprotected Li- ion batteries with S4 and doing so can result in battery fire or explosion.
Overtime Prevention
The S4 is equipped with an advanced “overtime” safety function. The S4 will
individually monitor the elapsed charging time for each battery slot and if a
particular slot exceeds 8 hours, the S4 will automatically power off the slot
and display full charging bars to indicate completion of the charging process.
This feature reduces the risk caused by batteries of lesser quality
Charging LiFeP04 batteries
To charge LiFePO4 batteries, simply press and hold the A or B or C or D button
for more than 5 seconds after a LiFeP04 battery is inserted and “LIFeP04” will
appear on the LCD display to indicate the activation of LIFeP04 charging mode.
To exit LiFePO4 charging mode,press and hold the A or B or C or D for more
than 5 seconds once again,or remove the battery.

Precautions
- Never attempt to charge primary cells such as Alkaline, Zinc-Carbon,Lithium,CR123A, CR2,or any other unsuppoted chemistry due to risk of explosion and fire.
- Do not attempt to charge with AC and car power sources at the same time.
- Do not attempt to dismantle, modify S4 or use it for other purposes.
- Never leave the charger unattended when it is connected to power. If any malfunction is found, terminate the process at once and refer to the operation manual.
- The charger is for use of adults above 18 years old. Children under this age must be supervised by an adult when using the charger.
- Please make sure the correct program and settings are chosen and set. Incorrect program or setting may damage the charger or cause fire or explosion.
- Disconnect the power supply when charging is completed.
- Do not charge a damaged IMR battery as doing so may lead to charger shot-circuit or even explosion.
- Do not expose the device to direct sunlight, heating devices, open flames,avoid extreme high or extreme low ambient temperatures and sudden temperature changes.
- Please operate the charger in a well-ventilated area. Do not operate or store it in damp area. Keep all the inflammable volatile substarces away from operating area.
- Avoid mechanical vibration or shock as these may cause damage to the device.
- Do not short-circuit slots or other parts of the device. Do not allow metal wires or other conductive material into the charger.
- Do not touch hot surfaces. The rechargeable batteries or the device may become hot at full load or high power charging/discharging
