ADVANTAGES OF THE TRAIN HORNS KIT
The frain hom kit is made of high-quality zinc material and chromed metal to ensure its maximum sfrength and durability, and can work in various temperature environments. This horn kit is specially designed for car owners who want the powerful sound of a loud horn but have limited space in the engine compartment. Durable materials carefully selected to ensure maximum resistance to various weather conditions and durability in the environment.

INSTALLATION STEPS
IMPORTANT: This complete train homn kit uses 12 volt DC components. Only
install this kit with a 12 volt DC power source.
ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONON- BOARD AIR SYSTEM
- The red wire of the on-board system coming from the botfom of the tank should be connected using the provided fuse to (+) 12-volt power source. IMPORTANT: To prevent the compressor from over running and possible damage due to an air leak, connect the compressor’s red wire to a power source in the vehicle that only gets power when the vehicle’s ignition is on. Recommended connection points are: windshield wiper motor, blower motor or an accessory terminal on the fuse panel. Make sure to use wire that is as heavy as the wire of the compressor.
- The black wire of the on-board system coming from the bottom of the fank should be connected to ground. The ground connection should be rust and paint free.
- Your compressor is now set for use and will tum on automatically when air pressure in the air tank falls. When air pressure reaches maximum PSl, it will tumn off. If the compressor fails to reach the maximum air pressure of the tank, which is the Pressure Switch’s cut OFF pressure, check all air connections for leaks. While the compressor is pumping, use soapy water or any bubble solution to perform this check. In case the leak remains affer tightening, re-apply thread sealant.
IMPORTANT: Never fouch fittings, connecting tubes or the air compressor with bare hands either during or shortly after use.
HORN (SOLENOID) USING NEW HORN BUTTON
- Connect one of the electric valve’s wires to the positive (+) terminal of the battery, altemator, efc. This circuit should be protected using a 10A fuse (not provided).
- Connect the second electric valve wire to one of the Horm Bufton’s connections. The remaining connection of the Horn Button must be connected to ground.
NOTE
Positive (+) on-board air system wire needs to be connected fo a wire that is
only powered when the vehicle’s key is tumed fo “ON” position.
This will prevent the air compressor to start if the vehicle is “OFF”
USING VEHICLE’S HORN SWITCH
- First, determine the switch’s polarity. The hom of most vehicles sends a negative (-) signal which can be confimed by connecting one of the probes from an ohm meter to the wire of the homn while connecting the other one to ground. The meter should be at zero. This proves that horn circuit is negative (-). In case the meter reads anything other than zero ohms, test for voltage between the wire of the hom and the ground. A 12-volt reading would mean a positive (+) hormn circuit.
- Once you know the hom circuit’s polarity, connect any of the solenoid wires fo the horn wire.
- If you have a negative homn circuit, connect the remaining solenoid wire fo a constant 12-volt power source.
- If you have a positive horn circuit, connect the remaining solenoid wire to ground.
MAINTENANCE & TIPS
Disconnect electrical components and drain your air system before performing maintenance.
GENERAL AIR HORN SYSTEM MAINTENANCE
- Check your air horns for debris when appropriate and at least once a month and clean when necessary.
- Drain your air system at least every other week, to remove any condensation buildup on the inside of your air tank.
- Make sure your air compressor is clean and free from debris at all fimes.
- Periodically change your two stage air filter on your compressor.
TIPS
- Make sure your engine is running when your air Compressors are in use to insure proper voltage and to prevent damage fo your system.
- Do not run your compressor above its maximum rated working pressure. Doing so will not only void your warranty, but may also damage your COMPIEssor.
- The air homs are pre-tuned to a locomotive chord and to their loudest possible tone. Do not adjust the tuning screw on the horns. Doing so will void your warranty and may damage the hormns if improperly adjusted.
