Connecting the Starter Kit

Before you start, ensure you have the following tools and materials ready:
Tools Required:

• 1 x New/Sharp Stanley Knife
• 1 x Heat Gun
• 1 x Pliers
• 1 x Tube of LED Technologies Silicone Glue
• 1 x 50m Roll of LED Rope
• 1 x LED Rope Starter Kit

Connecting the Starter Kit to your LED Rope

1. Determine Your Starting Point
   Unroll the 50m LED Rope and select the point where you want to begin your installation. (Either end of the LED Rope)

2. Connect the Starter Connection Pin

   • Align the starter connector with the two copper wires on the LED Rope
   • Secure the connection by pressing the pin in to the rope with pliers

3. Heat Shrink Sleeve Preparation
   Slide the heat shrink sleeve over the LED Rope, ready to cover the starter connection once the power source has been connected.

4. Plug in the Power Source
   Plug the 2-Pin Connector attached to the LED Rope into the Starter Cable of the starter kit
   

5. Test the Connection

   • Test the connection by turning on the power to the LED Rope
   • If the LED Rope doesn’t light up, reverse the polarity of the connection
   • If it still remains unlit, repeat Step 2 and re-test

6. Seal with Silicone Glue

   • After successful testing, apply LED Technologies Silicone Glue around the connection
   • Allow the silicone glue to dry for at least 20 minutes

7. Waterproofing – Heat Shrink Sleeve

   • Slide the Heat Shrink Sleeve from Step 3 over the starter joint
   • Use the heat gun to shrink-wrap the sleeve, ensuring a waterproof seal

8. Securing the opposite end of the LED Rope
   To finish the setup of your LED Rope, you will need the included end cap to secure the opposite end of your rope

9. Seal the End Cap
   Fill the end cap with LED Technologies Silicone Glue and then slide the other Heat Shrink Sleeve from your Starter Kit over the end of the rope

10. Secure the LED Rope

    • Insert the opposite end of the LED Rope into the glue-filled end cap
    • Apply further Silicone Glue to the connection, allowing it to dry for at least 20 minutes

11. Final Waterproofing

    • Slide the Shrink Wrap over the LED Rope and end cap, leaving a small overhang to cover the entire end cap
    • Allow it to dry using the heat gun to complete your LED Rope Installation

Connecting the Starter Kit Video Guide

Extending/Replacing a Length of LED Rope

Before you start, ensure you have the following tools and materials ready:
Tools Required:

• 1 x New/Sharp Stanley Knife
• 1 x Heat Gun
• 1 x Pliers
• 1 x Tube of LED Technologies Silicone Glue
• 2 x 50m Roll of LED Rope
• 1 x LED Rope End Cap Pack
• 1 x 2-Pin Connector Pack
• 1 x Heat Shrink Pack

Extending / Replacing a Length of LED Rope (Max Length 100m)

1. Choose Your Connection Point

2. ecide where you want to connect your LED Rope, keeping in mind the 100- metre limit on a single power supply

3. Make a Clean Cut

4. Cut the LED Rope at a marked termination point (Scissors logo every 1 meter)

5. Use a sharp blade for a clean cut, avoiding scissors to prevent damage to the connection

6. Prepare the Heat Shrink Sleeve
   Slide the heat shrink sleeve over the cut end of the LED Rope, preparing it for later use

7. Align the LEDs
   Take both separate LED Rope pieces and ensure the LEDs face the same direction for a proper connection

8. Secure the Connection

9. Line up the LED Rope connector with the two copper wires on the LED Rope

10. Use pliers to firmly secure the connection by pressing it in place

11.  Connect the LED Rope
    When you are satisfied with the connection, push the piece of LED Rope you want to connect firmly onto the opposite side of the connector, directly into the copper wires

12. Test the Connection

13. Turn on the starting LED Rope

14. If the newly connected piece lights up your connection is correct

15. If it doesn’t light up, check if you have connected the copper wires correctly (if not, remove the connector and repeat steps 5 and 6) or ensure the LEDs are facing the same direction (repeat step 4)

16. Seal and Waterproof

17. Once you’re happy with the tested connection, generously apply LED Technologies Silicone glue around the joint, covering all gaps, to create an airtight seal

18. Allow the silicone to dry for at least 20 minutes

19.  Apply Heat Shrink Sleeve

20. Slide the heat shrink sleeve over the entire connection, covering both sides of the LED Rope and connector

21. Use a heat gun to shrink-wrap the sleeve, ensuring a waterproof seal

22. Allow it to dry for an additional 20 mintues

23. Secure the Opposite End of the Rope
    To finish the setup of your LED Rope, you will need an end cap from the pack of 10pcs to secure the opposite end of your rope

24.  Seal the End Cap
    Fill the end cap with LED Technologies Silicone Glue and then slide the other Heat Shrink Sleeve from your Starter Kit over the end of the rope

25. Secure the LED Rope

26. Insert the opposite end of the LED Rope into the glue-filled end cap

27. Apply further Silicone Glue to the connection, allowing it to dry for at least 20 minutes

28.  Final Waterproofing

29. Slide the Shrink Wrap over the LED Rope and end cap, leaving a small overhang to cover the entire end cap

30. Allow it to dry using the heat gun to complete your LED Rope Installation

Accessories

Simple Installation
The 101.983 Flexi Rope starter kit must be used with our 50m rolls of LED Flexi Rope in order to connect the Flexi Rope to the mains power supply.

• Starter Cable: Provides power to the Flexi Rope
• 2-Pin Starter Connector: Links the Flexi Rope and Starter Cable
• End Cap: Provides a waterproof seal to the end of your Flexi Rope
• Heat Shrink Sleeves: Provides tight seals over joints and connections.

2-Pin Connector (Pack of 10 pcs)
The Flexi Rope Link connectors are supplied in packs of 10 x connectors that are fitted with pointed pins on both sides for the connector, unlike the starter pin connectors which have rounded pins on one side and pointed pins on the other side, the link connectors are designed to link multiple lengths of Flexi Rope together.

Note: The maximum length of the connected Flexi Rope is 100m. Product Code : 101.985

2-Pin Starter Connector (Pack of 10 pcs)

• The starter pin connector is supplied in our Flexi Rope Starter Kit (101.983) and are also available in a pack of 10 (101.990).
• This 2-Pin Starter Connector links the end of the Flexi Rope and the power source of our Flexi LED Starter Kit together.

Flexi LED Rope Diagram Light Direction

The diagram above shows the arrangement of LEDs within the Flexi Rope. They are all facing the same way. This design not only ensures a consistent and uniform glow but also opens up new possibilities for uplighting. The LEDs enable the rope to deliver an increased level of brightness with all the light directed in the same direction.

Connection Diagram

1. Starter pin must be connected to the start of the LED Rope.
2. Firmly insert in to the two holes to connect to the wires inside the LED Rope.
3. Slide your Solder Heat Shrink Sleeve over the end of the LED Rope.
4. Push the connector on to the end of the LED Rope, ensuring the connector pins go through the holes.

Product Warranty

• Flexi LED Rope is a decorative product for Professional installation and set up only. Installation must be adhered to. We provide a manual and video instruction. This must be followed correctly to ensure a long life.
• Your warranty is void if we deem the following:
• Water ingress due to incorrect assembly – water ingress can happen slowly and failure may take some time, you are not covered under warranty if there is any evidence of water ingress.
• LED Failure. If any LEDs have failed then we reserve the right to replace 1mtr lengths and will provide the joining connectors – we will not replace the whole roll. Normally a small number of LEDs will  fail in the 1st year, and this is not a product fault and will be considered acceptable. +/-10% Tolerance on all specifications.
• We reserve the right to change specifications without notice. E&OE This manual is by no means exhaustive.
