Setting Your Tidepieces Tide Clock
You’ll need to know the tide times for your location on the day you set the clock. Many newspapers publish this information or you can obtain it using a Tide opp or at www.noaa.gov. Your clock comes set to “HIGH.” You can simply insert a quality “AA” battery into the battery compartment at the time of high tide or you can use the little wheel on the back of the movement to adjust the pointer. to the appropriate number of hours to the next tide. Please note that the wheel requires a lot of turns to move the pointer. Note that the tide cycle is not perfectly regular throughout the year, but the irregularity averages out so there is usually no net “error.” However, if you want to minimize this irregularity try setting the clock on the day of a full moon.
