Product Usage Instructions
Troubleshooting Guide:
The XunDong Sunroof Motors are located at the front opening of the sunroof. Water exposure due to clogged drain tubes can cause the motor control module to fail. Glass panel motors are more prone to water damage than sunshade motors.
Initialization:
When initializing both sunroof opening panel motors, start with the sliding glass panel motor first. The new motor can only be moved towards the closed position and must be initialized. Initialization of the sunroof motor is necessary when servicing any part of the sunroof opening panel system.
Motor Recalibration Procedure:
- Open the driver or front passenger door.
- Turn the ignition to the ON position.
- Trigger the sunshade control switch until the sun visor is fully closed.
- Within 5 seconds, do the following:
- Cycle ignition OFF and back ON.
- Briefly press the TILT switch for less than 1 second and release.
- Press and hold the TILT switch until the glass panel opens and closes completely (up to 20 seconds).
- Release the switch and verify successful recalibration by testing one-touch open, close, and vent operations.
Please follow these steps to recalibrate the sunroof motor.

The motors are located at the front opening of the sunroof. They can easily get wet when the front drain tubes are clogged, preventing proper drainage. Water exposure causes the motor control module to fail. We see a higher failure rate in the glass panel motors versus the sunshade motors. Both motors are identical, but the location of the glass motor makes it more prone to water damage when drain tubes are blocked.
! NOTE: If both sunroof opening panel motors are initialized simultaneously, the sliding glass panel motor should be initialized first, followed by the other motor.
! NOTE: The new motor can only be moved toward the closed position and must be initialized.
! NOTE: The sunroof motor must be initialized when servicing any part of the sunroof opening panel system.
