Installation Instructions

Space Requirements:

Before installing the Dryer Drawer, make sure to check the following space requirements:

1. Ensure you have full extension slides in your cabinets.
2. Measure the internal width of the drawer box, which should be at least 19-29/32 inches.
3. Measure the vertical clearance from the bottom of the drawer box to the bottom of the next drawer or cabinet frame, which should be at least 9-7/32 inches.

If you don’t meet the vertical clearance requirements, follow these steps for minor adjustments:

1. Calculate the difference between the required clearance and your current measurement.
2. Adjust the positioning of the drawer face and slides accordingly.

Connecting to a Locally Installed Electric Outlet:

1. If connecting to power within the cabinet, plug in the power supply with the Dryer Drawer in place.
2. To achieve a cleaner installation look, drill a hole in the rear corner of the Drawer Box for the DC connector.
3. Place two-sided tape on the bottom of the Dryer Drawer for stability.
4. Nest the Dryer Drawer into the cabinet box, guiding the power cord along the base.
5. Secure excess power cord behind the drawer box or to the back wall, ensuring enough length for full drawer extension.

FAQ

• Q: Can I use the Dryer Drawer with framed-style cabinets?
  • A: The Dryer Drawer can work with some framed-style cabinets with minor adjustments. Follow the steps provided in the installation manual for proper installation.
• Q: What should I do if the timing pin is obstructed?
  • A: If the timing pin is obstructed, refer to the user manual for instructions on resolving the issue. Usually, adjusting the pin location or ensuring there are no obstructions should solve this problem.

Installation

Before ordering or installing, ensure that your Dryer Drawer is compatible with your cabinets:

1. Check that you have full extension slides. When fully extended, drawer box should clear cabinet face.
2. Open selected location and measure the internal width of the drawer box (picture 1). At least 19-29/32” is required.
3. Measure from the bottom of the drawer box to the bottom of the next drawer face or cabinet frame face. At least 9-7/32” is required (picture 2).

If you don’t have the necessary vertical clearance you may still1 be able to use the Dryer Drawer with a minor adjustments to your cabinets:

1. Subtract the length you measured in Step #3 above from 9.2”. We will call this measurement X”.
2. Remove cabinet box from drawer and scribe a line along backside of drawer face where bottom of drawer box sits.
3. Mark drill holes or scribe a line on top or underside of both drawer slides.
4. Remove drawer face and drawer slides, using value calculated in step 1, mark new holes and scribe new lines at least X” below2 the markings made in steps 2 and 3.
5. Remount the drawer face and drawer slides at new markings.

• This approach should work with most frameless-style cabinets and some framed-style depending on the delta measured in step 4.
• Recommend lowering at least ¼” to ensure clearance from prior mounting holes.

Connecting To a Locally Installed Electric Outlet

If connecting to power located within the cabinet:

1. With The Dryer Drawer sitting in drawer box, extend cabinet drawer fully and plug power supply into the wall. Note: drawer box may have to be removed from slides to access outlet. If so, remove drawer box, plug in power supply and re-install drawer box in accordance with drawer slide manufacturer’s directions (picture 1).
2. [Optional, for a “cleaner” installation look; or jump to step 3.] On the side that you intend to justify the Dryer Drawer, use a 3/8” or 7/16” drill bit to make a small hole in the rear corner of the Drawer Box (picture 2).
   • a. Unplug DC connector from the Dryer Drawer.
   • b. Thread DC connector through drilled hole and reconnect to the Dryer Drawer.
3. Place provided two-sided tape on Dryer Drawer bottom (picture 3).
4. Nest the Dryer Drawer into cabinet box and position tight in front corner while guiding power cord into feet along base.
5. Drape excess power supply cord behind drawer box or [optional] secure the excess cord to back wall of drawer box, ensuring enough cord length remains to fully extend drawer.

Connecting To an Adjoining Electric Outlet

If connecting to power located in an adjoining or nearby cabinet:

1. Estimate distance from the Dryer Drawer to target outlet to ensure provided 8’ power supply cord will be sufficient before proceeding.
2. Unplug DC connector from the Dryer Drawer.
3. In the wall(s) that separate the Dryer Drawer from the target outlet, use a 3/8” – 1/2” drill bit to make a small hole in the cabinet walls (picture #1).
4. Thread DC connector through hole(s) and plug in at outlet (picture #2).
5. [Optional, for a “cleaner” installation look; or jump to step 6.] On the side that you intend to justify the Dryer Drawer, use a 3/8” – 1/2” drill bit to make a small hole in the rear corner of the drawer box (picture 3).
6. Re-connect DC connector to the Dryer Drawer.
7. Place provided two-sided tape on Dryer Drawerbottom.
8. Nest the Dryer Drawer into cabinet box and position tight in front corner while guiding power cord into feet along base.
9. Drape excess power supply cord behind drawer box or [optional] secure excess cord to back wall of drawer box, ensuring enough cord length remains to fully extend drawer.

Changing the Pin Location

The Dryer Drawer can be justified on both the right or left side of your drawer to accommodate your kitchen layout. While the timing pin is shipped to be right justified, moving it to the left side is a simple exercise requiring only a screwdriver:

1. Remove Dryer Drawer lid from basin, on the underside of the lid, there will be four connections to the control board – the power supply, fan, actuator, and actuator sensor (Picture 1a and 1b). Remove connection by pulling straight down/out. Set lid aside.
2. Remove basin partition and set down on work surface (Picture 2) .
3. Unscrew actuator and actuator sensor (Picture 3).
4. Re-install actuator and actuator sensor on opposite side of the basin partition (Picture 4).
5. Re-install basin partition, making sure it is snug a flush with surface of basin (Picture 5).
6. Re-connect the power supply, fan, actuator, and actuator sensor.
7. Place basin lid back on.

Obstructed Timing Pin

The location of the timing pin should be compatible with most standard drawer box construction, however, if the pin is obstructed by the drawer box, you can troubleshoot with some small adjustments to cabinet box.

If pin is partially obstructed by cabinet box:

1. With pin extended, nest the Dryer Drawer into cabinet box and position tight in front corner.
2. Mark location, width, and depth of pin (7.28” from interior bottom of drawer box).
3. Using drill, saw, or preferred cutting tool to create a hole, notch, or channel for the pin.

Operating Instructions

1. Load Dryer Drawer with your wet dishes.
2. Close lid of the Dryer Drawer, ensuring contact with sealing gasket (to ensure best airflow).
3. On the key pad press the power button to turn on the unit .
4. The far left led indicator will come on—each light represents one hour of operation—to set a longer run time, press the clock button one time to add each additional hour.
5. Once preferred duration is selected, press the power button again to begin drying cycle. At this point:
   • a. The fan will power on
   • b. The timing pin will extend
6. Close drawer, snugging timing pin against the cabinet frame.
7. Throughout the drying cycle, you may add or remove objects from the Dryer Drawer. After adding or removing items, be sure to close the drawer, once again snugging the timing pin against the drawer frame.
8. At the end of the drying cycle, the fan will automatically turn off, the timing pin will retract, and the drawer will automatically close the remaining amount.
9. Dried dishes can be removed at any time.
10. Drying cycle can be stopped at any time by pressing the power button . Fan will turn off and pin will retract.

Demo Mode

The Dryer Drawer is equipped with a “Demo” mode.

To enter into or out of the demo mode, follow these steps:

1. When a cycle isn’t active, press and hold both the clock and power buttons for 5 seconds to enter demo mode. This makes each light only worth 10 seconds rather than 1 hour. So, a full cycle with all lights selected will run for forty seconds rather than four hours.
2. Demo mode can be turned off when a cycle is not active and both buttons are held again for 5 seconds.

Care and Maintenance

In general, The Dryer Drawer requires minimal maintenance to keep operating, but given its location in a kitchen environment, a small amount of periodic upkeep is required:

1. Every 1-2 weeks we suggest wiping down the interior of the basin to remove and accumulated debris and/ or any mineral build up from impurities in your water. A wet paper towel or sponge with warm soapy water or detergent is ideal, but if desired mild household cleaners (excluding ammonia-based cleaners such as Windex or 409) are safe to use on the basin.
2. If the lid or control panel becomes soiled, surfaces can be wiped down with warm soapy water or mild household surface cleaners (once again excluding ammonia-based cleaners).
3. Wipe down cleaned surfaces with a dry paper towel or cloth.
4. Avoid using abrasive materials or scouring pads on all Dryer Drawer surfaces, as they will damage the finish of the materials.
