INSPECTION BEFORE RIDING

  • a) Turn on the control panel.
  • b) Make sure the brakes work properly and brake pads are not worn excessively.
  • c) Make sure the front of the scooter is stable and the stem is not loose.
  • d ) Make sure the seat is firmly attached.
  • e) Check that the horn is working properly.
  • f) Make sure the single/dual drive and Eco/Turbo switch toggle normally.
  • g) Check the voltage value and ensure that it is within the normal voltage operating range (38V-54.6V)
  • h) Make sure the folding mechanism is locked securely.

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

  • A. Always wear a helmet, knee pads, and elbow pads when riding.
  • B. Use low speeds initially and gradually increase to higher speeds after as skills and confidence improve.
  • C. Do not ride in the rain or through water puddles
  • D. Children under the age of 16 should not be allowed on high-performance scooters.

  • F. Control and reduce speed when going downhill. Large scooters are heavy and can carry significant momentum.

CHECK AFTER UNPACKING

When The Scooter After Unpacking:

  1. Check if there are YUME bags & tools.
  2. Check if there is a charger.
  3. Check if there are two NFC keys.
  4. Check if there is a display.
  5. Seat installation (if available).
  6. Make sure the brake is in good condition.

  1. Push the locking knob in the direction of the arrow.

Command Centre Installation

  1. Check that the LCD control panel and display button screws are tight.

CHARGING OPERATION

  1. First, ensure that the two parts of the charger (i.e. the AC wall plug/power cord and the transformer) are firmly connected.
  2. Next, locate the three-pin connector on one end of the charger. Open up the charging port’s cover to spot the charging hole. Align the three-pin connector with the pinholes and gently insert the cable.
    • Once the connector reaches its maximum position, it connects to the scooter’s charging port. The charger’s groove should be aligned with the charging hole.
    • NOTE: Ensure that the three-pin connector is precisely aligned with the charging socket. Failure to do so may cause a short circuit within the charging port.
  3. Now insert the AC plug, which is the other end of the charger, into a power outlet. Once the battery is 100% full, the charger’s light will turn green.
    • When anything is less than 100% full (i.e. still charging), the charger’s light will remain red.
    • Note: You should plug the charger cord into the power outlet before connecting it to the charging port to avoid a short circuit.
    • Likewise, please avoid charging the battery for extended periods, such as the scooter being plugged in overnight, for this same reason. Aside from battery damage, it could lead to a fire accident.

POLE FOLDING OPERATION

Folding

  1. Loosen the knob in the direction of the arrow.
  2. Keep loosening the stem locking knob until the knob completely dislocates from the slot.
  3. Lower the handlebar.
  4. Folding complete.

DISPLAY FUNCTION OPERATION

Menu Description
Unlock power-on password When the meter is turned on, the interface

will display “—— “. Use the “ + ” and “ ” buttons to adjust

the number up or down and double-click the power button to confirm each number of the password. The default password is 1111 (the YUME RIDE application setting can change the password ).


NFC unlock & lock

| a.  After turning the scooter on, place the NFC key near the display’s NFC sensor to automatically unlock the scooter.

b.  While the scooter is powered on and in an unlocked state, placing the NFC key near the sensor area locks the scooter.

Menu setting| Cycle through the P settings menu| Long press the “ + ” button and “ ” button together to enter the P-Setting.

Press the power button to toggle through the various P-Settings.

Change P Setting the value| Press the “ + ” or “ ” buttons to change the value for each P-Setting.
Return to the home page| a.  Long press the “ + ” button and “ ” button together to save the P-Setting and return to the home screen.

b.  If there is no operation on the page, it will automatically exit the settings menu after 8 seconds.

DISPLAY INTERFACE

Function Icon Introduction

Menu Description
BLUETOOTH Bluetooth – A flashing icon indicates no connection. The

steady blue icon represents a successful connection to your phone.
CRUISE| Cruise – in cruise mode: white; not in cruise mode: not illuminate
BATTERY| Battery meter – Battery levels are displayed in increments of 20%. When the battery level falls below 10%, the last red bar flashes.
GEAR| Current gear display – Press the “+” Button once to cycle between three gears of EC0 D S.
FAULT| Fault warning – Appears on the display when electrical faults are detected or when you press the brake.
SPEED| Real-time speed – The digital area displays the current speed of the vehicle.
TRIP| Trip meter – The digital area displays the current mileage of the vehicle.
Power| Real-time speed – The digital area displays the current power of the vehicle.
ODO| Odometer – Total cumulative distance traveled.
LOCK| Lock – A blue lock icon is displayed when the scooter is locked. Vehicle unlocking is activated via NFC and password.

  • How to turn on/off the display:
  • Use the included NFC key to turn the scooter on or off.

How to access the P setting:

  • Long press the “+” and “-” buttons at the same time to enter the P setting menu.

In P-Setting models:

  • a. To cycle through the P Values within the P-Settings mode, press the “power button” to cycle through P01-P08. Use the “+” button to increase and the “-” button to decrease the parameters of each P value.
  • b. Long press the “+” button and “-” button together to save the P value setting and return to the home page.
  • c. If there are no button presses within 8 seconds, the settings menu will automatically exit the main display.

Notice: P-values are set at factory defaults, please only adjust if necessary.

IMPORTANT:

  • Take great care when shifting modes while riding. Downshifting while traveling at higher speeds will result in a sudden loss of power till the scooter slows to the new lower top speed.
  • Conversely, upshifting while riding will suddenly increase the amount of power delivered via the throttle. YUME recommends that the throttle be released/disengaged when changing modes.
  • Please use the mode switch function with caution.

NFC KEY BINDING

Step 1: Mobile App Installation

  • To install the Android app, search for [YUME RIDE] in the App Gallery or scan the QR code below to install the app.
  • For the Apple IOS system, you can search for [YUME RIDE] in the APP Store or scan the QR code below to install the app.

Step 2: Turn on Bluetooth and GPS positioning

  • Turn on the GPS positioning/location settings on your mobile phone, Click on the Bluetooth icon on the upper left corner of the [YUME RIDE] application home page to open the Bluetooth scooter identification settings page.YUME-YM-SWIFT-Foldable-Electric-Scooter-FIG-17
  • Click YUME SCOOTER to connect your scooter. When prompted enter the password(The default six-digit password is 000000) to successfully connect with your phone.

Step 3: “Add NFC

  • Click “settings.
  • Click on “Add NFC.
  • Put the NFC key in the center of the display, and click the page to “Search.
  • The display will automatically search for NFC keys.

Step 3: “Add NFC

  • Click “Bind Card” to recognize your NFC key and bind it to your scooter.
  • You may then change the name of the NFC connection.

Step 4: NFC lock/unlock your scooter

  • When the scooter is turned on and detects the NFC key near the vehicle sensing area, the scooter is automatically locked/unlocked without a password.
  • Remarks: Click “Add” to bind multiple NFC tags.
  • Repeat the third step of NFC binding to bind other NFC keys.

USAGE AND MAINTENANCE

  1. Battery and charger
    • a. The scooter is equipped with a dedicated Lithium battery and an intelligent charger. Please do not use another brand’s charge because it might not be suitable for the battery.
    • b. The battery’s overall performance will change based on temperature, terrain, and weight of the user.
    • c. During the winter, properly store the scooter with at least 75%battery capacity at room temperature.
  2. Charger
    • a. The intelligent charger has an over-charge protection function.
    • Once the battery is fully charged, it will stop charging automatically.
    • Notwithstanding, please remember to unplug the charger immediately after a full charge to ensure a lengthy battery life.
  3. Battery
    • The scooter’s Lithium battery does not require any special maintenance but please pay attention to the following:
    • a. Do not expose the battery to rain.
    • b. Do not expose the battery to extremely high temperatures. The appropriate temperature for the battery’s health is 25°C.
    • c. Remember to fully charge the scooter after receiving it before you start riding it.
    • d. Never let the scooter run out of power completely.
    • e. Charge the scooter before putting it into storage. Meanwhile, if the scooter is not in use for up to 90 days, endeavor to charge it again and then put it back into storage. Otherwise, the battery could get damaged.
    • f. Do not charge the battery in an enclosed room.
    • g. Never charge the battery unattended.
  4. Brakes
    • a. If you notice the braking performance deteriorating, check whether there is brake oil in the brake fluid reservoir or not.
    • If there is none, add it to get the brakes to the required sensitivity.
    • b. If brake oil is added but the brake’s performance remains terrible, the brake pads might need urgent replacement.
  5. Folding Parts
    • a. When you feel the grip loosen, adjust the screw between the grip and the T-tube with a hex wrench.
  6. Lubrication
    • a. Pour some lubricant into the clutch sleeve of the folding handle every six months.
    • Note: Do not use wd40 to lubricate the spare parts. Also, do not lubricate the front and rear wheels. Please contact us, if you have questions on this.
  7. Tire
    • a. When the tires begin showing obvious signs of wear and tear, please replace them.
  8. Cleaning
    • a. Clean the scooter using mild cleaning agents, protective agents, and soft cotton.
    • b. Do not use solvents in cleaning the scooter.
    • c. Never spray water directly on the scooter.
    • d. After cleaning it using soft cotton, rinse with clean water to ensure no detergent residue remains. After that, wipe with a dry cloth.
    • e. Clean the brake parts very carefully without allowing water to get in. Even water vapor on brake components may cause the brake to malfunction.
    • f. Apply protective oil to the suspension parts of the scooter periodically.

GENERAL QUESTIONS

SCOOTER CANNOT BE POWER ON

  • a. Check whether the battery gets power or not.
  • b. Open the foot pedal and check whether the issue is with the battery fuse. It might not be inserted properly or might have burnt out.
  • c. Before closing the foot pedal, also check whether the main line between the electric scooter’s accelerator and controller is plugged in properly.
  • d. Likewise, check whether the connector between the battery and the controller is plugged in properly or not.

BATTERY CANNOT BE CHARGED

  • a. Ensure that both ends of the charger are connected to the scooter and the power outlet and then check whether the indicator light turns on or not.
  • b. Open the foot pedal and check whether the issue is with the battery fuse. It might not be inserted properly or might have burnt out.
  • c. Confirm whether the brake lever is rebounded to its original position or not.
  • d. Open the foot pedal and check whether the connector between the controller and the motor is plugged in.

SCOOTER UNABLE TO ACCELERATE

  • a. Confirm whether the brake lever is in the original position or not.
  • b. Open the foot pedal and check whether the connector between the controller and the motor is plugged in.
  • Note: If all actions above have been tried but the scooter continues malfunctioning, please contact us.

YUME SCOOTER SAFETY TIPS

Who Should Ride A YUME Scooter?

  • The YUME product should not be ridden by anyone below the recommended age (18 years old). It is also recommended that you already have at least six months of two-wheel cycling experience.
  • Endeavor to always wear a helmet, elbow, and kneepads that meet the riders’ regulatory standards. Also, make sure to neatly tie the shoelaces to keep them out of the wheels’ way.
  • Follow Traffic Laws: Always yield to pedestrians for their safety and yours; Ride on the appropriate driving side per time; Make the appropriate signal when you’re planning to change directions; Always follow the traffic light signals; Finally, endeavor to comply with the local driving laws that pertain to you.

Getting Geared Up

  • a. Getting Your YUME Ready: Please read the owner’s manual attached to your scooter’s package before you begin using it. And before every ride, endeavor to secure your fasteners and check the brakes. Also, check your wheels for possible wear and tear.
  • b. Start Slow: Yeah, we know you want to start feeling the high rush of riding your new scooter, it’s better to start slow. Remember that you’ll need a little while to adjust to using your new scooter.
  • c. Watch the Terrain and Always: Be Alert When riding your YUME scooter, carefully maneuver around water, speed bumps, sand, gravel, and anything that could cause your front wheel to stop.
  • Also, avoid steep inclines, don’t ride too fast, avoid riding in other vehicles’ blind spots, and stay focused and alert. And also never ride under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
  • NOTE: Do not carry people while riding a scooter.

Apply “Extreme” Caution

  • a. With practice, you’ll get increasingly more comfortable on your ride. But, no matter how long you’ve been riding, you should always apply caution.
  • b. You might see people on TV or even people you know doing tricks and stunts, but you shouldn’t try something until you’re sure you are ready. Remember, ride smart and stay safe.
  • c. Be aware of “no parking” areas and only park within the appropriate or specified parking area. Make sure you look out for others and never leave your scooter blocking walkways or accessibility ramps.
