SAFETY PRECAUTIONS AND INSTRUCTIONS

Before the installation and use of the appliance, carefully read the supplied instructions.The manufacturer is not responsible for any injuries or damage that are the result of incorrect installation or usage. Always keep the instructions in a safe and accessible location for future reference.
This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge, if they are supervised or instructed or instruction concerning the use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.

Children shall not play with the appliance.Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be done by children without supervision. Packaging material should not be accessible to children.
Special attention should be paid to use of the correct installation method, so that the towel dryer functions safely and appropriately. The installation l must be completed with appropriate mounting accessories and equipment suited to the installation site, and it must apply the requirements of the local/national building code, professional skills, and meticulousness. The electric towel dryers are delivered with the REJ Pro fixed installation kit. Fixed installation of an electric towel dryer is to be performed only by an authorised electrician. It is possible to install the towel dryer using a socket outlet. REJ Pro power plug cords are available as an accessory. It is possible to choose a black or white power plug cord.

• Do not use the towel dryer if it is malfunctioning, has been dropped on the floor or has been damaged otherwise. If the power cable is damaged, replace it with a new REJ PRo power plug cable.
• Ensure that the power supply corresponds with the electrical specifications for this towel dryer. Do not change the technical characteristics of the product.
• Only use the towel dryer as described in this manual. Other modes of use that are not recommended by the manufacturer can cause fire, electric shock or personal injury.
• When switched on, the surface of the towel dryer heats up to around 40 to 65 ˚C. Because of the technical set-up of the towel dryer, the surface temperature may vary in its different parts.. Avoid touching a towel dryer that is switched on.

WARRANTY

The REJ Design towel dryer has a five-year warranty from the day of purchase. The warranty covers material and production defects. The warranty does not cover defects and damage caused by incorrect storage, installation, use, or repair of the product. We recommended to write down the product information and date of purchase/seller of the towel dryer in the indicated area on the back of this manual. Product warranty issues should primarily be handled with the seller: provide the invoice, product number of the towel dryer or other reliable information on the product and its delivery date. Notification of any defect must occur within reasonable time (usually 14 days) from its detection.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONCERNS

Recycle materials with the symbol . Recycle dryers and their packaging properly. Help protect the environment and human health by recycling waste of electrical and electronic appliances . Do not dispose of appliances marked with the symbol with household waste.

PLACEMENT AND USE

REJ Design towel dryers are suitable for new and renovated sites, homes and public facilities. REJ Design towel dryers can be installed in bathrooms, shower rooms, laundry and utility rooms, toilets and in many other rooms. The dryer is for indoor use only. A heated towel dryer gives additional warmth and reduces humidity from the air. It may only be used for drying fabrics that have been washed in water. Using a REJ Design towel dryer, you can easily dry towels, bathrobes, clothes washed with water, hand-washed items, outdoor clothes and children’s clothes.When drying more delicate textiles, microfibre cloths, synthetic and other technical materials and rainwear, we recommend that you place a towel between the textile and the towel dryer.You can also check out our range of accessories. Optional hooks and shelves are excellent aids for drying more delicate materials and adding drying capacity.

MAINTENANCE

An electric towel dryer must be switched off before cleaning. The outer surfaces of the towel dryer should be regularly cleaned with water and a neutral or mildly alkaline (pH 6–9) fluid detergent in accordance with the detergent manufacturer’s instructions. Dirt, lime, and other build-up are usually easiest to remove with soap and water.
Never immerse the towel dryer in water or spray it with water. Clean the towel dryer with a sponge or soft kitchen cloth moistened in soap solution. Rinse several times, using a sponge or cloth moistened in clean, tepid water, and then dry the surfaces.
Do not use any abrasive or corrosive agents or cleaning tools, solvents, acids, or ammonia-containing substances on chrome-plated and painted surfaces. Chrome-plated surfaces cannot withstand phosphoric acid and chlorine compounds or resist their effects only poorly. After cleaning, the towel dryer can also be treated with chrome wax in accordance with the waxing instructions. A waxed surface resists water and dirt, at the same time making it easier to keep the dryer clean.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

How to use a towel dryer with an on/off power switch

The power switch is located at the end of the towel dryer. Press the power switch with your finger to turn the towel dryer on or off. A light indicates that the heated towel dryer is switched on.

How to use a towel dryer with timer power switch

The timer is located at the end of the tube and it has REJ Design logo on it. Press the power switch lightly to switch between functions.To deactivate the function and reset the timer to zero, press the on/off power switch.

Towel dryer off (Off)
If the power switch is not lit, the towel dryer is either not switched on or it has automatically switched off when the time set in the timer has passed.
4 hour timer (4h = press once)
When the towel dryer is switched off, press the power switch once to switch it on for four hours.This is indicated by a single light in the front part of the power switch: the towel dryer has been switched on for 4 hours. The towel dryer will switch off automatically after 4 hours.

8 hour timer (8h = press twice)
When the towel dryer is switched off, press the power switch twice to switch it on for eight hours.This is indicated by two lights on the sides of the power switch: the towel dryer has been switched on for 8 hours.The towel dryer will switch off automatically after 8 hours.
Towel dryer on (On = press three times)
When the towel dryer is switched off, press the power switch three times. The lower part of the power switch becomes lit all around.The towel dryer is switched on and stays on until it is switched off by pressing the power switch again once.

ELECTRICAL TOWEL DRYER INSTALLATION WITH POWER CORD

Before the installation and use of the appliance carefully read the supplied instructions. REJ Design Oy is not responsible for any injuries or damages that are the result of incorrect installation or usage.

• Do not install or use a damaged appliance or malfunctioning.
• Check the straightness of the towel dryer! If the corner-to-corner distances do not match, you can straight en out the drier as follows: Place the drier against the floor and press lightly on one end of the tube to straighten it out. Make sure not to damage the power switch.
• Electrical installations in wet spaces should always comply with the latest electrical safety regulations from the manufacturer and SFS 60007-701 standard.
• The electrical safety regulations require a min. distance of 120 cm between the shower nozzle and the closest external surface of the towel dryer. To protect children the towel dryer should be installed so that the lowest heated rail is at least 600 mm above the floor.The towel dryer should be installed in a location where anyone taking a shower or bath cannot reach the power switc.
• The towel dryer may only be connected to an outlet that is protected against residual current device (RCD).
• The wall should be cleaned and dried before installation.

Tools needed for installation: spirit level, measure, pencil, drill bit 6 and screwdriver cross head PZ2.
Installation package that comes with the dryer includes: screw pros 3 pcs, screws 3 pcs and rubber plug 1 pcs.
REJ Pro power plug cable package includes: the REJ Pro power plug cable and a wall-mounting part 1 pcs, screw pros 2 pcs, screws 2 pcs.

Placement of the REJ Pro power plug cable. If the connection is to be made in the upper leg of the dryer, the wall-mounting part of the power plug cable must be placed so that the screws are situated in the upper rim of the wall- mounting part and the cable runs downwards. If the dryer and power plug cable are to be connected in the lower leg of the dryer, the power plug cable’s wall-mounting part must be placed so that the screws are situated in the lower rim of the wall-mounting part and the cable runs upwards.

1. Mark, drill, plug, affix and screw the REJ Pro power plug cable to the wall. Do not overtighten the screws, as this may cause the attachment to bend.

2. Peel the protective paper off the adhesives that are on the wall-mounting flanges of the dryer’s legs (3 pcs).

3. Use a spir-it level to measure and align the dryer close to where it will be installed. When the dryer is straight, press it against the wall so that the flanges attach to the wall with the adhesives.

4. Loosen the screws that are on the side of the cover flanges (outer flanges) so that the dryer can be pulled perpendi-cularly off the wall-mounting flanges. The wall-mounting flanges and screws remain on the wall.
   

5. Prop up the wall-attachment flanges and fix the screws to the wall.

6. Install the dryer, tighten the screws in the cover flanges and place a rubber plug in the notch in the cover flange of the leg next to the power connection.The towel dryer is ready for use.
   The IP code of the towel dryer is IP44 (protected against splashing water.)

 ELECTRICAL TOWEL DRYER INSTALLATION WITH FIXED INSTALLATION

• Safety regulations of fixed installation, clearances and measures to be taken before the installation
• Before the installation and use of the appliance, care fullyread the supplied instructions. REJ Design Oy is not responsible for any injuries or damages that are the result of incorrect installation or usage.
• All electrical connections should be made by a qualified electrician.
• In a fixed installation, there should always be a residual current device (RCD) between the towel dryer and the power source.
• Do not install or use a damaged appliance!
• Check the straightness of the towel dryer! If the corner-to-corner distances do not match, you can straighten out the drier as follows: Place the drier against the floor and press lightly on one end of the tube to straighten it out. Make sure not to damage the power switch.
• To protect children the towel dryer should be installed so that the lowest heated rail is at least 600 mm above the floor.
• The wall should be cleaned and dried before installation.
• In a fixed installation, a towel dryer with a timer should be installed with a dedicated disconnect switch within easy reach of the user (pic-ture 1).The requirement is based on the international IEC 60335 standard.

In a fixed installation the towel dryer may be installed in zones 1 and 2 (acc. to SFS 60007-701 standard), according to the following man-ufacturer’s instructions (picture 2)

1. There must be a minimum distance of 100 cm between the towel dryer power switch and the shower/bathtub (fixed water outlet).The power switch of the towel dryer must be in the upper part of the dryer. A person taking a bath must not be able to reach the power switch.
2. If there is no fixed partition in the shower room, the clearance between the towel dryer and the shower nozzle must be at least 100 cm and taking into account the extreme positions of the shower head.
   • If there is a fixed partition in the shower room with a minimum height of 190 cm, the towel dryer must be on the dry side of the fixed partition so that a person taking a shower cannot reach the power switch.
   • If the fixed partition of the shower room is at least 225 cm high, the towel dryer may be installed freely on the dry side of the partition. The joint between the fixed partition and the shower room wall must be sealed.
   •  If the width of the fixed shower room partition is less than 60 cm, please connect REJ Design Oy’s customer service and we will check if the towel dryer can be installed in the room.
3. There must be a minimum clearance of 100 cm between the towel dryer power switch and a boot wash station (fixed water outlet).The power switch of the towel dryer must be in the upper part of the towel dryer.
   The IP code of the towel dryer is IP44 (protected against splashing water.)

ELECTRICAL TOWEL DRYER INSTALLATION WITH FIXED INSTALLATION

NOTE! REJ PRo wall-mount installation and connection should be carried out by a qualified electrician! (instalation steps 1-4).

Tools needed for installation: spirit level, measure, pencil, drill bit 6 and screwdriver cross head PZ2.
The installation package that comes with the dryer includes: screw pros 3 pcs, screws 3 pcs and rubber plug 1 pcs. The REJ Pro fixed installation kit includes: 1 wall-mount part, 1 wall-mount connector, 2 screws and 2 wall plugs. In addition, 1 black protective cap, used only if the dryer is not installed when making the wall connection, is included.

The REJ Pro wall-mount connection is suitable for a mains ele-ctric cable or MMJ 3×1.5 mm equipment cable. If the cable has a protective conductor, it must be protected and insulated for sa-fety. If a cable protector is used in the installation, its diameter must be no more than 20 mm.
Note! In a fixed installation, a towel dryer with a timer should be installed with a dedicated disconnect switch within easy reach of the user ( IEC 60335 standard).
Before installation conserve safety regulations, installation distances and pre-installation procedures.
Placement of the REJ Pro wall-mount part. If the connection is to be made in the upper leg of the dryer, as shown in the pic-tures, the wall-mount part must be placed so that the screws are situated in the upper side of the wall- mount part. If the connection is to be made in the lower leg of the dryer, the wall-mount part must be placed such that the screws are situated in the lower rim of the wall-mount part.

REJ Pro wall-mount installation (pictures 1-4)

1. Mark, drill, plug, affix and screw the REJ Pro wall-mount part on top of the cable that comes out of the wall. Make sure that there is a sufficient length of cable visible. Do not overtighten the screws, as this may cause the attachment to bend.

2. 3. Take the REJ Pro wall-mount connector and loosen the screws meant for the electric conductors. Remove the adhesive co-ver from the connector. Connect the connector to the electric conductors of the cable that comes out of the wall. The blue neutral conductor goes into the connector’s N side, and the brown phase conductor goes into the L side. Finally, tighten the screws.
      Press the connector into the wall-mount part so that th N sides on both the connector and the wall-mount part line up and a “click” sound can be heard. Remove the LN sticker and check the voltages using a voltmeter. The wall-mount connection is ready.

3. Loosen the screws that are on the side of the wall-mount part that is on the wall. Peel the protective paper off the adhesives that are on the wall-mounting flanges of the dryer’s legs (3 pcs). Use a spirit level to measure and align the dryer close to where it will be installed. Avoid pressing the wall-mount connection and the leg connector together.

4. Loosen the 3 screws that are on the sides of the cover flanges (outer flange) so that the dryer can be pulled perpendicularly off the wall-mount flanges.

5. Prop up the wall-attachment flanges and fix the screws to the wall.

6. Install the dryer, tighten the screws in the cover flanges and place a rubber plug in the notch in the cover flange of the leg next to the power connection.The towel dryer is ready for use.
