  1. Your sports watch’s time and date settings. When you press the “Set” or “A” key on the watch, the time and date can be changed. To enter the correct time and date after entering set mode, tap either “C” or “Mode.” When the appropriate data is shown on screen, the “A” or “Set” button must be hit once again.
  2. Alter the modes. With a sports watch, you may choose between several modes. The mode button is found on the left lower side of Casio, Timex, and Coleman watches. The watch can be set to operate in four different modes with each button press: standard, alarm, chronograph, and timer.
  3. Set off the alarm. Set a daily, monthly, or one-time alarm while the alarm is in the alarm mode. Before hitting the “Set” or “A” key, enter the hour, minutes, month, and day of the week. Most sports watches require you to hit any key after the alarm has sounded.
  4. To use the timer and chronograph modes, press the “Start/Stop” key. When in chronograph mode, pressing “Start/Stop” causes the stopwatch to begin counting up until you click the button once again in hundredths of second increments. The “Start/Stop” key will show a countdown while the timer is set.
  5. Activate the backlight button. This button’s backlight turns on briefly after you press and release it. The sports watch can be made to enter night mode and remain lit by depressing the button for a long period of time.
