INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

WARNING
ALWAYS confirm weapon is unloaded and on SAFE before attempting installation.
Note: The process below is critical to ensure proper installation and function of all suppressor adapters that require shims and/or spacers. To properly time the indexing tab on the adapter to bottom dead center (BDC) position, a combination of shims may be required. Chamfered spacer shown in Figure 1, if included, must be used for proper alignment. Always face the chamfered side of the spacer toward the barrel when timing on a barrel with 90-degree shoulder behind threads (refer to Figure 4A).

  1. Referring to host weapon user manual, remove existing flash hider/muzzle brake, spacers, shims and/or washers from host weapon (Figure 2). DO NOT reuse the shims, spacers or washers removed from host weapon. SUREFIRE-WARCOMP-Socom-Suppressor-Adapter- \(3\)

  2. Apply acetone/degreaser to the muzzle threads of host weapon barrel. Use cleaning cloth and/or brass brush to remove debris and residue from threads. Additionally, apply acetone/degreaser on cotton swab to clean the internal threads of adapter. Rocksett will not adhere to threads if surface is not dry and stripped clean of debris and residue (Figure 3). SUREFIRE-WARCOMP-Socom-Suppressor-Adapter- \(4\)

  3. Refer to TIMING WHEEL CHARTS on pages 5-10 for appropriate shim stack  recommendation.
DRY FIT RECOMMENDATIONS FOR BEST TIMING

  4. Install the proper shim stack and spacer, if necessary, by following Figure 4 below.
Note: Refer to Figure 4A when timing an adapter on the shoulder. Alternately, when timing on the muzzle of the barrel (Figure 4B), drop the appropriate shims into adapter and ensure that the shims lie flat. Point the muzzle of the weapon down before fastening the adapter with inserted shims.
Note: For best fit, always sandwich the thinnest shim in between thicker shims. SUREFIRE-WARCOMP-Socom-Suppressor-Adapter-

    • Note: Use spacer 71348-1 (sold separately) for shouldered barrels under .620” diameter.
    • Note: With SCAR-H, use supplied spacer with chamfer facing away from the barrel.
    • Note: MK48/M240 and MK46/M249 shims are placed against the muzzle face (Figure 4B).
  5. Install the adapter onto the barrel and tighten by hand. Verify that indexing tab is at  5:30 position, approximately 15-degrees from BDC.

  6. Torque the adapter between 20 – 30 lb-ft (2.77 to 4.15 metric kilograms).
Note: Use a torque wrench and open-ended crow’s foot, M16 wrench or 3- pronged adapter wrench.

  7. If the dry fit timing position is correct at BDC (i.e. 6:00) position, remove adapter, shim stack and spacer. Proceed to the next step. If proper timing is not correct, remove the adapter; add or subtract necessary shims until proper position at BDC (i.e. 6:00) is achieved. Remove adapter, shim stack and spacer and proceed to next step.

  8. Apply a thin coat of Rocksett on to adapter threads and barrel threads.
To review material safety data sheet for Rocksett, go to: www.flexbar.com/PDF /MSDS-Certs/ROCKSETT%20MSDS.pdf

  9. Repeat steps 4-6 to reinstall the shim stack and adapter.

  10. Allow Rocksett to cure for 24 hours before firing host weapon.

DIRECTIONAL CLOCKING FOR:

  • WARCOMP-556-1/2-28
  • WARCOMP-556-M15X1
  • WARCOMP-762-AK47SUREFIRE-WARCOMP-Socom-Suppressor-Adapter- \(6\)
  • The WARCOMP models above can be clocked in different positions as shown to improve muzzle rise for right- or left-handed shooters or set in the neutral position.
  • Note: Clocking the adapter does not reduce suppressor performance. However, when clocked for right or left-handed shooters, the suppressor won’t be indexed at the bottom-dead-center position.
