PRODUCT OPERATION
- Be sure to place the cutter on a flat and even surface when in use.
- Do not exert too much force on the cutter or tiles as this will cause tiles to break.
- After you cut tiles, be alert that the newly cut edge can be sharp.
To cut a straight line:
-
Place the tile on the base and slide until flush against the guide. Adjust the square guide to the desired position.
-
Place the cutting wheel on the rear edge of the tile and slide the wheel forward by pushing the handle down, scoring the tile as the handle is pushed forward. It is important to make this scoring cut in one continuous motion, scoring only once per tile.
-
After scoring, and without moving the tile, position the handle so that the breaker foot is directly above the tile’s front edge (at the stop).
-
Apply increasing downward pressure on handle until the tile snaps.
To cut an angle:
-
Adjust the angle guide to the desired angle and place the guide against the tile.
-
Carefully lower the wheel until it makes contact with the tile and then applies consistent pressure while scoring the full length of the tile.
-
Flip the breaker down and position it slightly away from the front edge of the tile.
-
Apply increasing downward pressure on handle until the tile snaps
EXTRA CUTTING WHEEL STORAGE
The Tile Cutter features a convenient storage compartment on the base for a
spare 7/8″ (22mm) cutting wheel.
Simply unscrew the knob to open.
CUTTING WHEEL REPLACEMENT
Carefully loosen and remove the cutting wheel hex bolt and nut. Take caution as the cutting wheel could fall when the bolt is removed. Insert the new cutting wheel into the opening and replace the hex bolt and nut then tighten.
MAINTENANCE
The Tile Cutter requires little regular maintenance.
- Clean the Tile Cutter after use by removing tile debris.
- Lubricate the Guide Rods periodically.
- Store and cover the Tile Cutter when not in use. Always store in a dry location.
