Wristband User Manual

Introduction
Appy Sleep is a revolutionary sleep tracking system that combines the power
of your smartphone or tablet with a comfortable wristband. The smartphone or
tablet acts as the “brain” of the system, using its microphone to listen for
irregular breathing or snoring.
When it detects an issue, it sends a signal to the wristband, which gently
vibrates to alert the user. This system helps the user adjust their sleeping
position, leading to deeper, more restful sleep. The AppySleep system is easy
to use and doesn’t require any complicated setup.
With your new Appy Sleep wristband and app, you can enjoy better sleep and
improved health. This user manual will help you get started with using your
AppySleep device and all of its unique features.
Barcode and App Download
To get started, scan the QR code included with the device. You can find the QR
code on the packaging or on the back of the user manual.
After scanning the QR code, you’ll be directed to the AppySleep app’s download
page. Simply tap ‘Install’ to download and install the app on your device.
Once the app is installed, you can open it and follow the prompts to set it
up.
At the moment, the AppySleep app is only available for Android devices.
Wristband
Now that you have the AppySleep app installed, it’s time to learn about the
device itself. First, let’s talk about charging and turning on the device.
Charging : To charge the wristband, connect the magnetic charging cable
to the back of the wristband, then plug the regular USB end of the cable into
a USB outlet. You can use either a wall outlet or a USB port on a computer to
charge
the wristband.
It’s recommended to fully charge the wristband before first use.
On/Off:
To turn on the Appy Sleep wristband, place your finger on the sensors at the
bottom of the wristband for a few seconds. The wristband will vibrate, and the
screen will turn on, displaying either the message ‘connected’ or ‘not
connected,’ depending on whether the wristband is currently connected to the
user’s phone.
Connection:
To connect the wristband to the app, make sure your phone or tablet’s
Bluetooth is enabled, open the app main screen, then tap the Bluetooth icon in
the top right corner of the app. Click scan to see the list of available
devices. Select the wristband from the list, and the app will connect to it
automatically.
It’s that simple!
Helpful Tips
For best results, wear the wristband snugly but comfortably on your non-
dominant wrist. Also, be sure to keep your phone close to the wristband during
the initial setup process.
After the initial setup, you can keep your phone at a normal distance from the
wristband. And if you ever need to re-establish the connection, simply open
the app and tap the Bluetooth icon.
Make sure your phone’s Bluetooth is turned on and that your phone and the

App Usage
Appy Sleep Better Sleep starts Tonight
The AppySleep app includes five introductory screens that provide an overview
of the app and its features. These screens include information about the
wristband, how to connect the wristband to the app, and how to interpret the
data the app provides.
Once you’ve gone through the introductory screens, you can choose to skip them
in the future.
Main Page
The main screen is the hub of the AppySleep app.
It allows users to view their sleep history and statistics, start tracking
their sleep, and set the vibration options on their wristband.
It’s the main place where users interact with the app.
Vibration off/ on
Make sure the wristband is connected and the vibration is turned on to ensure
the app can do its magic while you sleep. Oh, and if you don’t have a
wristband yet, no worries – the app will direct you to our website where you
can purchase one.
Bed Time
Once you’re ready for bed, simply open the AppySleep app and tap the ‘Start’
button.
This will take you to the sleep tracking screen, where you can hit ‘Start’ to
begin tracking your sleep. Throughout the night, the app will track your
sleep.
In the morning, simply hit the ‘Stop’ button to end the tracking and view your
results.
‘ It’s crucial to keep the phone within 3 feet of the user for accurate
snoring detection. If the phone is too far away, the microphone might not pick
up the snoring noises.
For the app to accurately track snoring and breathing disturbances, make sure
that you are in a quiet environment with no background noise. This will help
the app provide the most accurate results.
we recommend putting your phone in airplane ane mode to avoid interruptions
from notifications or or calls during your sleep.
Wakeup Time
When you stop the sleep recording, the app takes you to the sleep review
screen.
There, you can rate your sleep using a simple emoji rating system. This helps
the a app learn about your preferences and provide personalized insights.
It’s important to rate your sleep honestly so the app can establish an
accurate baseline. This will help the app provide you with the best possible
insights.
Analysis
Once you wake up in the morning, you can see a summary of your night’s sleep.
You’ll see how much you slept, how much you snored, and whether the vibration
feature was activated.
You can also access your previous night’s records in the history tab.
Sleep Timeline Graph
The graph also allows you to review the entire sleep duration. By pressing
play you can even hear the sounds that occurred during the night. Indicated as
blue dots are the snoring and/or trouble breathing events that the app picked
up.
While scrolling through the timeline or using the touchscreen to select a
point in time, you can press “Play” to listen to the recording.
The Sleep Timeline Graph can assist you in understanding why the vibration
feature was activated and whether it was successful in helping you sleep more
soundly.
If you feel like it missed some events, or you didn’t wake up from the
vibration, you can adjust these settings in the settings menu and try again
during your next AppySleep.
You can easily zoom in and out of the text on the screen by using the pinch
gesture or the + and buttons in the top right corner.
Advanced Settings
With all of this information, you can make adjustments to the app setting or
your sleeping habits and improve your sleep quality.
The advanced settings page allows you to customize both the wristband and the
app.
You can adjust the wristbands’ vibration settings, the app’s sensitivity, and
other features.
With these options, you can tailor your sleep tracking experience to your
unique needs.
Adjusting the sensitivity settings to match your sleep environment will give you more accurate data.
Dynamic sensitivity automatically adjusts to background noise, while manual sensitivity lets you manually adjust the background noise threshold.
In manual mode, you have more control over what noises the app considers
‘snoring,’ which can be helpful if the app is picking up false positives (like
a dog barking or a lV).
The ‘Wait After Vibration’ in the Advanced Setting menu is crucial for getting
the most out of the app while still having a peaceful sleep.
This setting allows you to customize how long the device waits before
responding to a possible snore or a breathing disorder, so that you don’t get
disturbed by the vibrations.
The app’s vibration settings can be personalized to your preferences and for
optimizing your results.
If the vibration wakes you up in the first few nights, increase the ‘Wait
After Vibration’ setting from 30 seconds up by increments of 2 seconds.
If it’s still interrupting your sleep, keep increasing the setting until it
feels just right.
Remember, everyone’s
comfort level is different, so experiment until you find the sweet spot for
you.
If you’re not seeing a gradual decrease in snoring after your first 21 days of
using the app and the wristband, go into the settings and lower the ‘Wait
After Vibration’ setting from 30 seconds down by increments of 2 seconds. Try
the new
setting for 7 days after each change. Keep adjusting the setting until you
notice a difference.
This setting feature is to allow you to customize and find the magic number
that gives you the perfect balance of snore detection without false alarms or
unnecessary interruptions.
