WELCOME TO YOUR PADDLE

SOME HELPFUL INFORMATION ON YOUR PADDLE

How to assemble your paddle?

Start with all 3 pieces. First step – join the top (handle) section to the mid-section. To do this – pop out the adjustment clip in the middle section with thumb and forefinger as shown below:

Then – insert the top (handle) section handle into the mid-section as shown in the two photos below:

Also – note carefully here that the easy and super quick way to adjust the paddle (even when on your SUP) – is to align the hole ABOVE the holes you want the two pins to pop into with the circular ‘notch’ in the adjustment clip.

So the hole being pointed to below – is the hole that will be above the two holes the adjuster pins clip into. But of course, choose the hole that suits your height (instructions on that below).

The second step is to join the lower joint together – please take the third piece (piece with the blade attached) and depress the metal ‘button’ with your thumb, and push this into the middle section (which has the small circular hole in it) as shown below. Do this carefully minding your thumb:

Guide the pieces together so that the small metal button from the blade section pops through the round hole in the middle section – securing the lower joint (once popped through) as shown below:

Your paddle is now ready to go! But what height should you use?

What length would suit my height?

People are generally recommended to start with the paddle around 20cm or 8 inches taller than their height. We recommend you start at this point – and adjust from this point on to your personal preference. In general usage – people often favor having their paddle at a greater length on longer duration paddles on flat water – or a shorter length when on brief paddles or SUP surfing.

How to adjust the height of the paddle?

Similar to joining the top two pieces together – simply grip the paddle adjuster clip between thumb and forefinger and pop it out.

As mentioned earlier – adjust to your desired length AND have the handle ‘straight’ super-fast is by using the trick of matching the hole ABOVE the hole that will give you your desired length – to the circular notch cut out in the paddle clip as shown below.

This means the two pins in the adjuster are perfectly aligned to quickly pop into the holes you need for your desired length.

Any problems at all?

We stand behind our products as we say – so if you have any problems with this paddle clip we can provide you a replacement – just ask!

Covered Joints – please note

Your paddle has two joints that are protected with special covering tape as shown below. This is designed to always stay on – so please do NOT try to remove it.

How to take apart my 3PC SUP Paddle?

For best storage and transport, here are the tips on how to properly disassemble a paddle. Just like how you connect it, release the clip to separate the top and mid-section. Simply do the pop out method by using the thumb and the forefinger – same as to how you did it upon joining the shafts. Then carefully pull out the upper paddle shaft (the bit with the handle attached) and it’s ready to store.

Using the paddle – which way around?

The paddle is designed to be used with the blade of your paddle bent at an angle AWAY from you – this allows a longer stroke when entering the water – and also allows the blade to come straight up and out of the water (easily) at the end of the stroke – as opposed to lifting the water. As shown below:

That’s all of it! I really hope these instructions have been helpful. Please know that we are also an email away for any other questions you may have with your BPS paddle. Thanks a lot and see you on the water!

All the best
