Earth Smart S-2 Refrigerator Replacement Filter
Installation Instructions for S-2

Locate your existing filter and remove it by turning the filter counterclockwise.

The filter will eject slightly with a clicking sound.

Remove the sanitary cap from the new filter.

Insert the new filter into the refrigerator filter housing with the arrow on the bottom of the filter aligning with the arrow on the refrigerator and turn the filter.

Be sure to apply pressure as you insert the filter and turn a full ¼ turn clockwise until you feel it stop. Please ensure the filter is fully installed as it is required to activate the internal water valve.

If the filter isn’t properly installed, you may experience a slow flow or a chattering noise. If this occurs, please uninstall the filter and reinstall the filter ensuring the filter is fully installed.

Run approximately 2.5 gallons of water from the dispenser periodically to clear the system and to receive a good flow. If the water flow is slower than usual, please repeat Step 3.
Note: Initial flow rate may be slower than expected. The full flow rate should be restored within 24-36 hours. -
Check the filter for any noticeable leaks. If leaks are detected, please repeat Step 3.

To reset the filter monitor light, please refer to your refrigerator owner’s manual for specific instructions.

This S-2 is Tested and Certified by NSF International against NSF/ANSI Standards 42 and 53 for the reduction of chlorine taste and odour, Endrin, Trichlorobenze, and p-Dichlorobenzene. Refer to the Performance Data Sheet for a complete list of claims.
This S-2 is Certified by IAPMO R&T against NSF/ANSI Standard 42, 53, 372, 401, P473 and CSA B483.1 for the reduction of Chlorine taste and odour, Cyst, Mercury, Asbestos, Pharmaceuticals (such as Naproxen, Ibuprofen and Phenytoin), BPA, and PFOA/PFOS. Refer to the Performance Data Sheet for a complete list of claims.

Warning: To reduce the risk of property damage from water leakage, the
filter bypass plug MUST be used when a filter replacement cartridge is not
installed. For cold water applications only. Do not use water that is
microbiologically unsafe or of unknown quality without adequate disinfection
before or after the system. Protect from freezing. REPLACE FILTER EVERY 6
MONTHS, OR IF BAD TASTE OR ODOR OCCUR. The risk associated with small parts
can cause choking if swallowed. Keep children away from small parts during the
replacement of the water filter.
