DANGERS OF NUCLEAR RADIATION
Nuclear radiation has serious effects on human health, causing dementia, high blood pressure, heart disease, and reduced immunity, as well as damage to the blood and nervous systems.
The harm of nuclear radiation to the human body is mainly chronic damage to diseases, long-term use of computers, contact with radioactive objects, and long-term exposure to high-radiation environments, which can cause serious damage to human organs.
Generally, radiation greater than 100msv is harmful to the human body.
Prolonged exposure to radiation doses between 100-500msv will reduce the number of white blood cells in the human blood.
Radiation doses in the range of 1000-2000msv may cause symptoms such as fatigue, vomiting, or anorexia.
If the radiation dose is 2000-4000msv, the number of red blood cells and white blood cells in human blood will be significantly reduced, and internal bleeding may occur.

What things produce radiation that is harmful to the human body?
Nuclear power plants, ores, ionizing radiation, computers, radiation medical equipment, industrial environments, etc.

What can the Olmlmo nuclear radiation detector do for you?
When the radiation dose exceeds the value you set, an alarm will appear. Help you stay away from environments and things that exceed radiation doses.

PRODUCT OVERVIEW

This product uses a Geiger-Miller counter. Counter for detecting the intensity of ionizing radiation (Beta particles, Gamma rays, and x-rays). Use a gas tube or a small chamber as a probe. When the voltage applied to the probe reaches a certain range. Each time the ray is ionized in the tube to produce a pair of ions, it can be amplified to produce an electric pulse of the same size. And recorded by the connected electronic device. The number of rays per unit of time was thus measured.

PRODUCT FEATURES

  • Detect X-ray, Y-ray, and β-ray.
  • High sensitivity, can work in various environments.
  • The LCD has a display function and the status display is clear at a glance.
  • Vibration/sound combination alarm methods.

Overview of nuclear radiation dose hazards. The harm to the human body at different doses

Dose(Rum) Response
5-20 There could be a delayed reaction. It could damage the

chromosomes.
20-100| Temporary Leukopenia.
100-200| Mild radiation sickness within hours: vomiting, diarrhea, fatigue, reduced resistance to infection.
200-300| Severe radiation sickness reactions and symptoms are the same as above. This exposure is a lethal dose, After 30 days, 10%-30% of those who die will have a LD of (10-35)/30
300-400| Severe radiation sickness.
Damage to bones and gut. LD is (50-70)/30
400-1000| Acute, Premature death, LD(60-95)/30

Calculation of radioactive isotope decay values
A-AOe 入-t t=T1/2;
AO known source strength A is calculated based on the radioactive decay calculation table after the elapsed time.

The relationship between radioactive source and distance:
The intensity of a radioactive source is inversely proportional to the square of the distance
X=A.r/R2A: Radioactive activity of point source;
R: distance from source;
r: exposure rate constant
Note: Ra-226 (t1608)
r=0.825 ren.m2/hour.Curie
Cs-137(t 29.9 years) r=0.33ren.m2/hour.Curie
Co-60(t 5.23 years) r=1.32ren.m2/hour.Curie

Calculate radioactive shielding based on the radioactive decay calculation table look-up table:

PRECAUTIONS

Nuclear radiation detectors are precision instruments, so please pay attention to their protection. The following suggestions will help maintain the instrument and extend its service life.

  1. Keep it as dry as possible during storage and use. Excessive humidity will cause malfunction and damage to the instrument.
  2. Do not use the instrument violently or roughly, and prevent falling, knocking, and violent vibration of the instrument, otherwise the instrument will be damaged to varying degrees.
  3. When the power display is too low, it is in an under-voltage state and should be charged in time. When there is severe undervoltage, the instrument may experience abnormal phenomena such as being unable to turn on and off, display screen blur, etc.

If the instrument does not work properly, please contact our after-sales service, or return it directly to our company for repair.

INSTRUMENT MAINTENANCE

  • Please keep it dry and wipe off the dirt on the surface of the instrument with a soft cloth before use.
  • Do not use detergents or solvents.
  • Please recycle and reuse broken instruments, accessories, and packaging materials in an environmentally friendly manner.
  • Please turn off the device in time when not in use for a long time.
  • Do not disassemble or replace components without permission to avoid malfunction.
  • Please store in a dry place when not in use.

TECHNICAL SUPPORT AND SERVICE

If you require support, please send an email to [email protected].
Be prepared to describe the problem accurately. Before you return a product to the factory for service, we recommend you refer to this manual. Make sure you have correctly followed the operating procedures. Please refer to the Warranty information, which extends to the first end-user.

DISCLAIMER

Use of the meter is solely at the user’s discretion to identify exposure to non-ionizing electromagnetism.
Because a meter of this type may malfunction, the user’s responsibility is to determine if the meter is working properly, by using it to measure a known reference. Manufacturer or dealer cannot assume responsibility for damages resulting either from a defective meter (except to replace or repair said meter within the warranty period) or from inaccuracies in the present body of knowledge concerning potential health hazards of electromagnetism. The meter should be used so that simple steps (such as moving furniture) can be taken to reduce relative exposure within a home or office. If more drastic actions are contemplated, consult expert advice, and perform independent tests with another type of meter.
