  15. Do not discard battery in the fire as it may explode or leak.

  16. Do not dispose of batteries in your regular household garbage.

Use of the Brakes

  1. Instruction
    • The brake is used to control the speed, not just to stop the bike. The maximum braking force of the wheel is available before the wheel “lock” (standstill) and subsequent slip. Once the tires skid, you will lose most of your braking power and any control of the bike. You must practice braking and stop gently, without jamming the wheel. This technique is called progressive brake modulation.
    • Push the brake lever toward the handlebars and gradually increase the braking force.
    • If you feel the wheel lock, reduce the braking force to allow the wheel to continue spinning without locking.
  2. Brake Precautions
  3. Minimize frequent braking and start to conserve energy while maintaining safety.
  4. Increase the stopping distance on rainy days or in wet conditions, as moisture slows the braking response. After use, clean and dry the bike and store it in a safe place.
  5. Do not make sharp turns at high speeds or brake sharply on slippery surfaces, as these actions can easily cause the bike to slip out of control.

Using the Shift Lever

  1. Instruction
    • Use the shift lever while riding. When the bike is stationary, do not turn the shift lever to prevent damage to the bike.
    • When the right shift lever is shifted forward (the tap position is changed from position 7 to position 1), the rear derailleur lever moves inward and the shifting chain simultaneously moves from the small piece of the rear cassette to the large piece, which reduces the riding speed while reducing the pedaling force when riding.
    • When the lever is at the maximum position (tap position 1), press the accelerator button on the right shift lever. The rear derailleur lever will move from the inside to the outside, and the shifting chain will move from the large part of the cassette to the small part position, which will increase the speed of riding and also increase the pedaling force of riding to realize the shifting process of the rear derailleur lever.

Use of Front Fork

  1. Instruction

    • The suspension fork can move up and down by up to 80mm to absorb bumps in the road surface for a smoother and more comfortable ride on rough roads or hills.
Depending on the rider’s preference, the fork can be locked into a rigid fork, which typically provides greater pedaling efficiency.
  2. Adjustment

  3. Preload Adjustment Knob 1 : is located at the top of the left side of the suspension fork.
To soften the ride, reduce the resistance by turning the preload adjustment knob counterclockwise, reducing the resistance in the direction of the small “-” on the knob. To make the suspension more comfortable on bumpy roads, turn the preload adjustment knob clockwise to increase resistance in the direction of the small “+” on the knob.

  4. The lockout lever 2 :is located at the top of the right side of the suspension fork.
Turned it counterclockwise could fully lock the suspension fork. To unlock the lockout lever, turn the knob clockwise until it stops. When the locking lever is unlocked, the resistance can be adjusted by turning it.

NOTE: When the fork is shipped from the factory, its functions are set to fit most people. If you do not have riding and troubleshooting experience, please do not operate it freely so as not to damage the fork lock and interfere with your normal use.

Ebike Folding Steps

VIPDRIVE-Pathfinder-1-1-Electric-Bike-for-Adults-image
\(31\)

  1. Lift and pull the first black latch upward.
  2. Pull the second silver latch to the left.
  3. Open the left latch and pull the silver latch to the right. 6.1.4 Fold the bike to the middle with force.

Follow these basic parking, storage and transportation tips to ensure your bike is well taken care of on and off the road.

  1. When walking with the bike, turn the power off to prevent accidental acceleration or use the walk mode.
  2. Although the bike is waterproof (IPX4 waterproof), do not immerse the bike or any part of it in water as this may damage the electrical system.
  3. Store in a sheltered place and avoid prolonged exposure to cold or inclement weather. If exposed to rain or excessive moisture, dry the bike after use and rust proof the chain and any other unpainted steel surfaces.
  4. When parked, turn off the electrical system to conserve power, remove the key from the bike and make sure the battery is secured and locked to the frame.
  5. Always lock your bike to prevent theft.

Motor Care & Maintenance

  1. The brushless motor is not waterproof, so avoid riding in water deeper than the bottom of the electric hub to avoid motor failure.
  2. Check your motor frequently and tighten any loose bolts or nuts to prevent vehicle failure due to loose wires.
  3. Use the pedals to assist the motor when climbing hills and accelerating.
  4. Usually accelerate moderately, not too hard, and do not climb too high to avoid overheating or overloading the hub motor.

Battery Care & Maintenance

  1. Charge the battery after riding a certain distance, otherwise the battery life will be reduced.
    • Charge the battery when the battery level is between 10% and 30%.
    • Make sure that the battery is not completely discharged (deep discharge).
  2. If the bike is not used for a long time (the battery need to be stored for more than two months), please be sure to charge the battery regularly to maintain it, otherwise, the service life will be shortened or the battery will be damaged and unusable. Please perform the following operations
    • Fully charge the battery and remove the battery.
    • Make sure there is no visible damage to the battery.
    • Do not expose the battery to direct sunlight or heat. Store the battery in a dry, low-humidity location to protect it from extreme temperature fluctuations.
    • Make sure that the stored batteries are charged every three months.
  3. It is normal for the capacity of the battery to slowly decline during use, and eventually to the end of its life and cannot be recovered.

Chains Care & Maintenance

  1. It is recommended to clean the chain after each ride, especially in rainy and humid conditions. Wipe the chain and its accessories with a dry cloth and use a brush to remove sand and dust from the chain.
  2. Do not use strong acid or strong alkaline cleaners (such as rust remover) as these chemicals can damage the chain.
  3. Apply lubricant after cleaning to prevent rusting. Make sure the chain is dry before applying lubricant to the bearings.
  4. To avoid unnecessary chain wear, try to keep the chain in a vertical position when shifting gears (do not use the smallest sprocket with  the smallest flywheel, or the largest sprocket with the largest flywheel, etc.).

Fork Suspension Care & Maintenance

  1. Keep your fork clean, use a clean cloth to wipe including the inner tube and the fork shoulder joint.
  2. It is recommended to use a fork dust cover to protect the inner tube of the fork. This can prevent dust from entering and also prevent hard objects from hitting the inner tube
  3. Don’t use high-pressure water gun or long time to rinse your fork, so as not to damage the oil seal and dust seal after the water gets into the dust seal.

Brakes Care & Maintenance

  1. The brakes should be inspected periodically and replaced if the brake pads are contaminated or less than 2.5 mm thick.
  2. The efficiency of the brakes may decrease over time due to wear and tear. When you notice a lack of braking power, we recommend that you have the brakes checked, repaired or replaced (if necessary) by a professional.
  3. Cleaning is a very important part of any brake maintenance. Keeping the brake disc and brake lining surfaces clean keeps the entire brake functioning freely, flexibly and reliably.
