HVAC Installation
Please refer to this diagram for proper placement of your Scent Diffuser within your HVAC system.
AIR RETURN: This is where the air enters your HVAC system. The Furnace/AC Coils will then heat or cool the air, depending on your desired temperature setting.
Exhaust Ductwork: The exhaust comes out of the heater. Do NOT drill into any exhaust ductwork. Doing so can release harmful fumes from your furnace into your home. If you are unsure or need assistance, we recommend consulting with a professional HVAC technician.
Outflow Ducting (Installation Zone for Scent Diffuser): The scent diffuser be installed in the Outflow Ducting. This is where the air is forced out from your HVAC system to circulate throughout your home. Please ensure that your HVAC fan is turned on for proper air distribution.
Step 1
In order for the aroma mist to carry through the air duct, the AC must be operating or the blower fan must be turned on. If the AC (or fan) is off, the aroma mist will stay in the air duct and won’t reach the intended space. If the diffuser is operating for a prolonged period of time with the AC fan being off there will be unwanted scent buildup in air ducts and could cause diffuser or air handler damage.
Step 2
HVAC setup typically requires intensity levels 10% to 15% higher compared
to standalone diffuser setup. Air duct passage creates an additional volume of
space through which the aroma must travel and some capacity is lost due to the
extended volume of space. With a standalone setup, the aroma covers a smaller
volume of space and has a slower transit time.
Step 3
Installing the air diffuser requires adequate space to accommodate your aroma
diffuser and must be close to the air ducts. The ideal placement of the
diffuser tube opening is after the air handler and before the first air
register (please refer to the diagram above). Please ensure the air duct
opening is further away from the air handler body to prevent possible
interference.
Step 4
The plastic tube that connects the diffuser with the air duct should be kept
as short as possible and at the near-vertical pitch. Avoid ‘sagging’
formations in the tube as this could cause oil accumulation in the lower part
of the tube and possibly damage your diffuser.
Step 5
The diffuser plastic tube entering the air duct should be approximately three
to four inches inside the duct and pitched at about 10% downward angle just to
ease the aroma flow.
Step 6
Ensure proper insulation of the opening by using aluminum tape and secure the
plastic tube to one of the hard areas to minimize any tube movement.
Step 7
The placement of the diffuser should be in a dry, clean, moist free
environment.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I connect my machine to my HVAC System?
It is essential to understand your specific HVAC system and the layout of the
ductwork in your home. If you find that the scent diffuser is not covering the
entire house, we recommend considering the following suggestions:
- Placing multiple scent diffusers strategically in different areas of the house to enhance coverage.
- Choosing stronger fragrance options to maximize the scent diffusion.
- Check the connections for errors, especially the length of the hose. The factory recommends that the length of the hose should not exceed a maximum of one meter.
- Regularly rotating and changing the essential oils to ensure a consistent and fresh fragrance experience.
What essential oils should I use? Will other brands work? Where can I buy it?
You can use other brands of essential oils. However, please note that essential oils that have been diluted with water, especially reed oils, are not suitable for use in the machine. And We recommend our JCLOUD essential oil which is perfectly paired with scent air machines.
Machine not running after a period of time? Leaking oil? No mist?
Maybe the atomization head is overheating or blocked. You can try to clean the machine by running rubbing alcohol and replace the oil with rubbing alcohol and run it through for 5 mins.
Can't find the device? Does the machine need to be connected to Bluetooth all the time?
Please make sure to use the correct APP and keep Bluetooth on. Once the setup is complete, the machine will always run according to the program without the need to always connect Bluetooth.
Troubleshooting
Diffuser Maintenance
The machine needs to be cleaned when below situations happen:
- You’re about to change to another kind of essential oil.
- The atomization volume becomes weak .
- We recommend cleaning machine by diffusing isopropyl alcohol once a month.
Cleaning steps:
- Remove fragrance bottle and atomizing head
- Fill 1/8 of the fragrance bottle with industrial alcohol (isopropyl alcohol)
- Re-attach atomizing head to fragrance bottle and diffuse for 2-3 minutes.
- Air out the fragrance bottle and the atomizing head.
