Product Usage Instructions
- Installation Instructions:
- Choose the mounting configuration (end, top, or back mount).
- Secure the canopy bracket to the ceiling or wall.
- Open the housing cover.
- Secure the housing and canopy with screws according to the chosen mounting configuration.
- Feed the AC input leads (red, black, white) through the housing and canopy’s center hole.
- Secure the canopy into the canopy bracket with screws and insert the battery terminal wire into the male connector (for the battery backup model).
- Connect the battery only after continuous AC power is provided to the unit.
- Snap the housing cover into place.
- Apply chevron directional indicators as required.
- End Mount:
- Secure the canopy to the end plate of the fixture using the provided screws.
- Run connection wires through the large hole between mounting holes.
- Make electrical connections and mount the canopy to the junction box using the provided screws.
- Top Mount:
- Secure the canopy to the top of the fixture using the provided screw and hex nut.
- Run connection wires through the threaded nipple.
- Make electrical connections and mount the canopy to the junction box using the provided screws.
- Back Mount:
- Mount the canopy to the junction box using the provided screws.
- Run connection wires through the large hole in the center of the canopy.
- Secure the fixture to the canopy with the provided screws by going directly into the mounting holes.
- Make electrical connections.

- Q: How long does it take to charge the battery in the battery-backup version?
- A: After connecting electricity to the unit, let the battery charge for at least 24 hours before normal operation should take effect.

- IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS: When using electrical equipment, always adhere to basic safety precautions including the following:
- Note: For the battery-backup version of this unit, the battery may not be fully charged. After electricity is connected to the unit, let the battery charge for at least 24 hours, then normal operation of this unit should take effect.
READ AND FOLLOW ALL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
- Do not use outdoors.
- Equipment should be mounted securely in locations and at heights where it will not be readily subjected to tampering by unauthorized personnel.
- Do not mount near gas or electric heaters.
- Cap unused wires with enclosed wire nuts or other approved methods.
- Do not use this equipment for anything other than its intended use.
- The use of accessory equipment not recommended by the manufacturer will void the product listing and warranty and may cause an unsafe condition.
- Disconnect AC power before servicing and installation.
- Use caution when servicing batteries.
- Any service on this equipment should be performed by qualified personnel only.
- Make sure wire terminations are secure and leads are properly tucked in appropriate wire channels.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Choose a mounting configuration (end, top, or back mount). Plug the remaining holes with the appropriate color plugs.
- Secure canopy bracket to ceiling or wall.
- Open the housing cover.
- Secure housing and canopy with screws (see mounting configuration).
- Feed the AC input leads (red, black, white) through the housing and canopy’s center hole. Refer to the Wiring Diagrams section on the 2nd page and make proper electrical connections.
- Secure canopy into canopy bracket with 1-1/2” long #8-32 screws, then insert battery terminal wire into the two-pin male connector.
- Connect the battery (battery backup model only) only after continuous AC power can be provided to the unit.
- Snap housing cover into place.
- Apply chevron directional indicators as required. Remove application templates when finished.
End Mount
- Secure the canopy to the end plate of the fixture using mounting holes C and E with (2) 3/4” #10-24 screws (included).
- Run connection wires through large holes between mounting holes C and D.
- Make electrical connections and mount canopy to junction box (or spider plate if required) using the two recessed mounting holes and (2) 1-1/2” #8-32 screws (included).
Top Mount
- Secure the canopy to the top of the fixture using mounting hole A with 3/4“ #8-32 screw and hex nut, and 1/2” center hole (between mounting holes B and C) with threaded nipple and hex nuts (included).
- Run connection wires through the threaded nipple.
- Make electrical connections and mount canopy to junction box (or spider plate if required) using the two recessed mounting holes and (2) 1-1/2” #8-32 screws (included).
Back Mount
- Mount canopy to junction box (or spider plate if required) using the two recessed mounting holes and (2) 1-1/2” #8-32 screws.
- Run connection wires through a large hole in the center of the canopy.
- Secure fixture to canopy with (2) 3/4” #10-24 screws (included) by going directly into mounting holes A and C.
- Make electrical connections.
