SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

ALWAYS TREAT YOUR CROSSBOW WITH THE RESPECT DUE ANY FIREARM OR SPORTING WEAPON:
Your crossbow is a powerful weapon and can be dangerous if carelessly used. Treat your crossbow as if it were loaded at all times.
ALWAYS POINT YOUR CROSSBOW IN A SAFE DIRECTION:
Never point your crossbow at anything you do not wish to destroy!
NEVER DRY FIRE YOUR CROSSBOW:
Even though your crossbow is equipped with an anti-dry fire feature, attempting to shoot your crossbow without an arrow may cause bodily injury or damage the crossbow and voids the warranty.
BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET BEFORE YOU SHOOT:
While hunting keep in mind that many hunters wear camouflage.
Never fire your crossbow until you have positively identified your target. Additionally, be aware of your background and what lies beyond your target in the event that the arrow passes through the intended target. Be aware of the potential for ricochet.
NEVER RELEASE THE SAFETY UNTIL YOU ARE IN POSITION TO FIRE:
Once ready and only after you have clearly identified your target and the backstop is it SAFE to remove the safety and FIRE. Attempting to alter or delete the safety and/or trigger mechanism in any way can result in severe bodily injury  and/or death while voiding the warranty.
NEVER SHOOT ARROWS OR ANY OTHER TYPE OF PROJECTILE FROM YOUR CAMX CROSSBOW EXCEPT FOR ARROWS RECOMMENDED AND SUPPLIED BY CAMX OUTDOORS INC.
Shooting arrows other than specified by the manufacturer will not only void your warranty but may damage your crossbow and/or result in bodily injury.
NEVER SHOOT YOUR CROSSBOW WHILE ALONG SIDE OR BEHIND OTHERS:
In the event the crossbow was to accidentally fail injuries could result to not only the shooter but those especially standing alongside the crossbow.
BEFORE SHOOTING ENSURE THAT THE CROSSBOW LIMBS AND STRINGS ARE FREE OF OBSTRUCTIONS:
Make sure the crossbow is clear from striking obstacles like tree limbs. While this will greatly affect the accuracy of the arrow should this occur it may also result in damage to the crossbow and/or cause bodily injury.
NEVER LOAD THE CROSSBOW WITH AN ARROW UNTIL YOU ARE READY TO SHOOT:
When walking, stalking and/or climbing NEVER load an arrow in the crossbow because of the inherent dangers of an exposed broadhead and/or points. Always unload the crossbow before lowering it from, or climbing down from a tree stand.
WARNING, KEEP FINGERS AND ALL BODY PARTS CLEAR OF THE CROSSBOW’S STRING AND CABLES PATH:
While your CAMX crossbow is equipped with the Thumbsaver™ feature, exposing hands, fingers, thumbs or other body parts to the travel path of the string and cables will result in serious bodily injury. Do not operate, attempt to alter or  remove the Thumbsaver™ Guards.
EYE & EAR PROTECTION:
As with any sporting weapon remember to take the appropriate steps to ensure your safety while shooting with protective items such as safety glasses.
INSPECT ARROWS PRIOR TO USE:
Shooting arrows that are damaged from delaminating, splintering, cracks or impact crush marks can result in serious bodily injury.
ALWAYS USE A PROPERLY DESIGNED CROSSBOW TARGET AND BACKSTOP:
Be sure that your crossbow range or shooting area is located in a spacious area free of buildings and that your target is designed for crossbow use. Bag style targets work well for practice tipped arrows and high-density, block- style foam
targets work well for broadheads.
REMEMBER YOU ARE SHOOTING A DANGEROUS WEAPON THAT IS CAPABLE OF CAUSING DEATH. YOUR CROSSBOW IS A MECHANICAL DEVICE.
NEVER RELY ON ANY MECHANICAL DEVICE OR SAFETY FEATURE TO REPLACE SAFE HANDLING PRACTICES.
NEVER ATTEMPT TO ALTER OR MODIFY YOUR CROSSBOW IN ANY WAY!

ASSEMBLY

CAMX CHAOS 325 Compound Crossbow - ASSEMBLY

Your new CAMX crossbow was tested and shot at the factory however; some basic assembly is required before heading afield. Find a flat, spacious work area and devote your full attention to the contents of this entire manual. Conduct a review of all the components prior to assembly to ensure all items have been included. Should any items be missing, please contact us at once. Your package should contain the following items: See Figure 1.

Stock Assembly with Scope| Bow Unit with Foot Stirrup| Wishbone™ 4 Arrow Quiver
---|---|---
6-Pack ACCUSPINE Arrows| EZ Roller Rope Cocker| Lo-Ready Crossbow Sling

Hardware Pack
The hardware packet included with your crossbow will contain your bow’s mounting bolt, cable saver, hex key and Comfortech Stock Spacers with mounting screws.
NOTE: This manual may service several CAMX crossbow models. Variations may appear and exist between your particular crossbow model and those shown throughout.

Now that the contents have been checked and all items have been supplied let’s begin the simple and brief assembly.
Holding the bow unit in one hand and the stock in the other, align the riser with the stock carefully to position the string on top of the barrel. See Figure 2.

Locate the cable saver and position it between the two cables. The cables should be separated by the blade in the middle of the cable saver and each cable should rest within the ends. Begin to insert the cables into the cable slot by aligning  the cable saver with the underside of the flight groove in the barrel. The cable saver should be oriented in a manner that the concave side is up and mates with the corresponding shape at the bottom of the flight groove. See Figure 3.
WITH THE STRING RESTING ON THE BARREL IT WILL BE NECESSARY TO APPLY A SMALL AMOUNT OF DOWNWARD PRESSURE TO THE CABLES AND CABLE SAVER TO ALIGN THE CABLE SAVER IN THE CABLE SLOT.

Continue to slide the bow unit towards the front of the barrel, string on top of barrel and cables and cable saver positioned in cable slot. As the bow unit approaches the front of the barrel, align the barrel with the cutout in the rear of the riser. Upon close inspection of the riser you will note two alignment bosses. These bosses in the rear of the riser must align with the corresponding recesses on each side of the flight groove in the barrel. Slide the bow unit onto the barrel until it is fully seated up against the barrel. See Figure 4.
The barrel to riser fit is precision machined with minimal tolerance. A small amount of effort and patience is needed to ensure proper alignment and that the barrel is proper seated. Secure the bow unit to the barrel and stock assembly with the included bow mounting bolt. Insert the 1/4”x 20 x 2 3/4” shoulder bolt into the hole in the front of the riser and align with the counter bored hole in the barrel. This is a precision fit and there is minimal clearance. As such you will find that it is necessary to apply a downward force against the riser/stirrup to overcome the tension of the cables and string. This is best achieved by pulling down on the stirrup, to close the gap at the bottom of the barrel and riser, as you tighten the shoulder bolt with the supplied 3/16” hex key. You may also find it easier to place the butt of the stock down on the ground and with the crossbow upside down to you, push the top of the stirrup up against a wall or table for added leverage. Securely tighten the mounting bolt. See Figure 5.
You have now successfully completed assembly of the crossbow. Before heading afield, visually inspect the crossbow and ensure all fasteners are tight and all components are secure. Please continue to take a moment to finish reading the  operations manual to better understand the safe operation and use of your new CAMX crossbow. As always, if you have any questions or are uncertain of the assembly or operation of your crossbow please contact us immediately.

WISHBONE™ QUIVER

The Wishbone™ quiver included in your Peak Performance system is fully assembled and ready for right hand installation. To install, locate the threaded mounting hole on the underside of the barrel, approximately midway between the riser and the forearm of the stock. Thread the captured mounting bolt in the quiver’s arm into the hole while inserting the alignment pins on the quiver arm into the holes provided in the barrel above and below the threaded hole. Tighten knob firmly.
See Figure 6.
To load the Wishbone™, simply lay arrows into the openings across the dual arrow spreaders with broad head fully enclosed by the quiver cup. Press the arrow into the top spreader first, then the bottom. To remove arrows, reverse the process.
The duel rows of arrow spreaders eliminate the need of foam in the quiver cup allowing the use of mechanical broadheads and will not dull fixed blade heads. Also, the dual arrow spreaders hold arrows securely while permitting easy and quiet removal.
To remove the quiver for transportation, unscrew the locking knob while applying outward pressure on the quiver arm to keep the locking bolt captured. Once removed, place the quiver anywhere without fear of losing the knob. Take great care in handling broadhead tipped arrows. When installing broadhead tipped arrows into the Wishbone™ quiver, be sure to position the broadhead fully into the quiver cup to provide complete protection. After removing an arrow for loading, take great care to avoid cutting your crossbow’s cables or strings with a razor sharp broadhead.

Left Hand Conversion
Your Wishbone™ quiver easily converts to left hand orientation. A small Phillips head screw driver will be required to perform the operation.
Begin by holding the quiver arm securely. Unscrew the locking bolt while applying some outward pressure on the quiver arm. Once removed, re-install on the opposite side of the quiver arm.
Next, remove both rubber arrow spreaders by gently pulling from their mounting pillars. Reverse the spreaders 180° and re-install.
The final step is to reverse the broadhead cup.
Remove the two Phillips head screws, pull the cup from its mounting posts and reverse the cup 180°. Re-install the Phillips head screws securely. See Figure 7.

COMFORTECH™ STOCK ADJUSTMENT

Nothing breeds confidence like a well fitted stock. Just raise, aim and squeeze. No head wiggling or struggling to get a clear steady sight picture.
The Comfortech™ stock of your CHAOS 325 features an adjustable spacer system which permits custom fitting the LOP (length of pull) from 13 1/4” to 15”. Utilize this feature not only to position the trigger comfortably but to position the scope for perfect eye relief.
See Figure 8.
The Comfortech™ adjustment system includes butt plate, one (1) 1/2 “spacer (installed), two (2) 1/4” spacers and one (1) 3/4” spacer with mounting screws for any combination.
To shorten or lengthen the stock, remove the butt plate with a Phillips screwdriver and add or subtract spacers for the proper fit. Once the proper spacer combination is determined, select from the included mounting screws the pair that  protrudes approximately 1/2” from the butt plate and selected spacers. Next, simply re-attach. HINT: Keep your stock fit perfect regardless of the season. Utilize the adjustment feature of the Comfortech throughout the year i.e. longer for  summertime practice wearing light clothing, to shorter length setting for winter hunting while donning bulky insulated wear.CAMX

COCKING THE CROSSBOW
HAND COCKING
If proper technique is used, hand cocking is not only extremely accurate but simple with no further equipment required.
Begin by pointing the crossbow down, resting the cocking stirrup on the ground. Place one foot fully and securely into the stirrup. Grasp the bowstring on adja- cent sides of the barrel depressing the Thumbsaver™ guards flat against the barrel. See Figure 9.
Using your thumbs or fingers as guides, pull the bowstring up, while simultaneously standing upright, into the string opening of the Monobloc™ scope base fully to the rear. When the trigger safety moves to the SAFE position, relax the  tension slightly to ensure the trigger latch has engaged the bowstring. The crossbow is now cocked and ready for loading. See Figure 10.  CAMX CHAOS 325 Compound Crossbow - COCKING

Keep the bow pointed safely downrange from this point forward with all body parts kept below the Thumbsaver™ guards and travel path of the string and cables.
Make a visual check to ensure the trigger’s safety has moved to the SAFE position.
COCKING WITH THE EZ ROLLER COCKING AID CAMX has chosen the Parker EZ Roller Rope cocking aid for use with the CHAOS 325. It has been included in your CAMX system and is the only rope cocker authorized for use with your CAMX crossbow. Other brands of rope cocking devices may damage the Thumbsaver™ feature of your bow and void your manufacturer’s warranty.
Before use, it is recommended to make a one time rope length adjustment to custom fit the rope cocker to your crossbow. To determine the proper rope length, begin by placing the cocker on the crossbow as described in the instructions below. When properly adjusted, each “T” handle will be flush with the roller assembly. Pull the excess rope through the back of a “T” handle and mark the rope. After marking, pull some excess rope through the top of the “T” handle and tie a new overhand knot approximately 2 inches below the mark. Reinstall the rope cocker on the crossbow to verify proper length. If satisfied with the adjustment, the extra rope may be cut off and discarded. Melt the cut end of the rope with a flame to avoid knot slippage.
Some hunters prefer to slightly “over shorten” the rope by approximately one inch which will cause the user to slightly draw the bow string in order to attach the rope cocker. This slight tension will hold the rope cocker in place on the crossbow for transportation or storage and will prevent loss.
Instructions for use;
Point the crossbow down into the cocking position, resting the cocking stirrup on the ground. Place one foot fully and securely into the stirrup. Allow the handles of the rope cocker to hang freely to the outside and grasp one roller assembly in each hand keeping the hooks approximately 6” (6 inches) apart. Position the center rope section (the 6”area) into the cocking aid groove located in the stock at the rear of the Monobloc™ scope base. See Figure 11. Bend over sliding each roller assembly downward and hook over the bowstring, depressing the Thumbsaver™ guards flat against each side of the barrel. Be sure to keep each roller assembly positioned flat against the Thumbsaver™ during cocking. Make a visual check that the center rope section is still in place in the cocking aid groove in the stock and the roller assemblies are positioned “hook down” with rollers flat against the Thumbsaver™. Grasp each “T” handle firmly. Pull evenly and smoothly, keeping the bow string flat against the barrel, while simultaneously standing in an upright position. See Figure 12.
The motion used will resemble rowing a boat. Continue pulling the string into the string opening of the Monobloc™ scope base fully to the rear until the safety moves to the SAFE position.
Relax pulling tension slightly to ensure the trigger latch has fully captured the bowstring.

To remove the cocking aid from the string, grasp and push each roller assembly forward. The Thumbsaver™ guards will now automatically return to their upright position. Make another visual check that the safety is now in the SAFE position and the Thumbsaver™ guards have re-deployed to their upright position.

WARNING: After cocking is complete, place the rope cocker in a pocket or safely away from the crossbow when shooting to eliminate the possibility of injury or damage to the crossbow in the event of tangling or interference between the rope cocker and crossbow during firing.

UNCOCKING THE CROSSBOW

UNCOCKING: Standard Method
After a hunt or shooting session, it is wise to unload and un-cock the crossbow as soon as possible. Never transport or store a cocked and/or loaded crossbow. The safest and simplest method is to discharge a practice tipped arrow down  into soft earth free of rocks or other debris. Some hunters carry a used practice arrow with them for unloading purposes. See Figure 14.

UNCOCKING: Using The Rope Cocking Aid Method Please Note: This method of un- cocking should only be deployed by adults possessing at least average strength and dexterity. Also, do not attempt this method of un-cocking until the one time rope adjustment has been made as described in the INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE. DISCLAIMER: If there is any doubt you cannot perform these functions, DO NOT attempt to use this method. Refer to the instructions for UNCOCKING Standard Method. Step one: Position the crossbow into the cocking position, cocking stirrup down resting on the ground. Place one foot fully and securely into the stirrup. Step two: In your weak hand, slide the roller assembly fully against the base of the “T” handle. Hook the assembly to the bow string while depressing the Thumbsaver™ guard, allowing the roller assembly to fully fold the Thumbsaver™ guard flat against the barrel. See Figure 15.

Step three : Align the rope into the groove provided in the stock and hold in place with your weak hand thumb. With your strong hand, grasp the opposite roller assembly and hook to the bow string while depressing the Thumbsaver™ guard flat against the barrel. The roller assembly should now be flush against Thumbsaver™ holding it in its down position. See Figure 16.

CAMX CHAOS 325 Compound Crossbow - Rope Cocking2

Step four: Slide your strong hand up the rope to the “T” handle eliminating all slack. Continue to hold in this position. See Figure 17.
Step five: With your weak hand, you must now depress the anti-dry fire lever located at the front of the Monobloc™ scope base with your index finger.
While depressed, move the trigger safety to the FIRE position with your thumb. See Figure 18.
Step six: With your foot still securely positioned in the cocking stirrup, with your strong hand, pull firmly on the “T” handle, holding the bowstring in position. Do not pull so hard that you reset the trigger safety. With your weak hand, press the trigger. Slowly lower the string to its rest position. Be prepared, as you lower the bowstring the force WILL increase. See Figure 19. Use of a rope cocker will remove the camo finish inside the cocking aid groove of the stock and is
considered normal and customary wear.

CAMX CHAOS 325 Compound Crossbow - Step four1

LOADING AND SHOOTING

Once the crossbow is cocked, verify the safety is fully in the “SAFE” position. Keep the crossbow pointed downward and downrange remembering to keep all body parts below the plane of the Thumbsaver™ guards from this point forward. Place an arrow flat into the flight groove with the off colored cock vane down into the groove. See Figure 20.
Slide the arrow back, under the PAR arrow retainer until the rear of the arrow rests fully against the bowstring. Tap gently on the arrow to ensure solid contact between the arrow and the barrel. You may now visually confirm proper loading by verifying that the rear of the vane is positioned at or just behind the LOAD line located near the front, on both sides of the Monobloc™ Scope Base. See Figures 21A, 21B, 21C.
While still pointed downrange, shoulder the crossbow placing your front hand securely and comfortably on the forearm, out of harms way, with thumb and fingers positioned safely below the Thumbsaver™ guards. See Figure 22.

Your cheek should rest comfortably on the cheek piece of the stock with your dominant eye positioned directly in line and 1 1/2” to 2” away from the scope’s eyepiece. Move the safety forward to the FIRE position.
If you are unable to move the safety to the FIRE position, your arrow has not been properly loaded.
Take careful aim while holding the crossbow securely and keeping bow limbs parallel to the ground. Press the trigger gently to the rear until the crossbow fires.
Continue to aim until the arrow has reached the target.
See Figure 23.
SHOOTING TIPS
Top crossbow shooters have several things in common. During practice sessions, they have bred consistency into their shooting technique. They take all the following into consideration: consistent straight cocking procedures; mounting the crossbow with consistent cheek and butt pressure; placement of their trigger finger on the trigger, amount of time to execute the shot keeping the bow parallel to the ground; consistent breathing and a rock-steady follow through.
Developing sound shooting habits during the Summer will reap huge benefits in the Fall. Remember, it is much more important to execute good shots than to AIM good shots! Aim and hold as steady as possible, controlling your breathing, but expect some movement of the sight. After all, you ARE human! Just press the trigger smoothly, not anticipating the shot and always keep aiming until the arrow reaches the target. Many top shooters ensure their follow through by watching the arrow fly enroute to the target through their optics. By following these simple tips, and a little practice, you will soon be amazing yourself at the accuracy achieved with your CAMX system.

SIGHTING AND SCOPE ADJUSTMENTS
Your CAMX Aero 4X32 crossbow scope has been pre-mounted and factory bore sighted. No gross sighting procedures will be required. After assembly several small, one time, adjustments may be necessary.
EYE RELIEF
Shoulder your crossbow naturally with both eyes closed. Open your eyes and determine if a “full field” of view is achieved in the scope. If not, the scope will need to be moved closer or farther from your dominant eye. This can be achieved by shortening or lengthening the stock by use of the Comfortech™ spacer system or by changing the scope ring location on the Monobloc™ scope dovetail. If necessary, you can also move the scope forward or backward within the rings by simply loosening the two Torx® screws located in the top of the each of the scope ring caps. Once the scope has been moved, evenly retighten all Torx® cap screws with the included Torx® wrench, a little at a time, until the scope is secure. DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN; over tightening may cause marring or damage to the scope tube.
NOTE: Recommended screw torque – Scope Ring Cap screws – 20” lbs. Clamp screw – 30” lbs.

EYE PIECE FOCUS
Once proper eye relief is achieved, proceed to the target range and bench rest. Aim at a target at 20 yards distance. Loosen the front locking ring on the rear eye piece. Next, adjust the eye piece in or out until the crosshairs and target are clearly in focus. Lock the ring firmly to the eye piece to secure.
SIGHTING IN
Because your crossbow has been pre-sighted with your included arrows, you may now begin shooting to verify impact. Begin at a range of 20 yards using the top crosshair. Use sand bags or shooting rest to eliminate human error and rest the crossbow on the cocking stirrup to eliminate unwanted contact of limbs, cables and string with the rest.
Shoot three arrows at multiple aiming points to eliminate arrow to arrow contact. Measure the distance from center impact and adjust accordingly. Your Aero crossbow scope features 1/4” MOA turret adjustments. Accordingly, 5 clicks of adjustment equates to 1/4” point of impact change at 20 yards range. To make adjustments, first remove the turret cap then use a small coin to prevent damage to the turret.

The top turret controls elevation while the side turret controls windage. Turn the turret in the direction you want the arrow to go i.e. if arrow impacts left, turn the windage turret “right”. If arrow impacts low, turn elevation turret “up”.
When sighting adjustment is complete at 20 yards, you may proceed to longer range targets to determine the impact distance of the lower four crosshairs.
The ARC™ reticle will approximately deliver point of impact of 30, 40, 56 and 72 yards respectively.
WARNING: Never mount or use the AERO 4 x 32 Crossbow Scope on rifles! The short eye relief of the crossbow scope will place the shooters eye too close to the scope to allow for the recoil of a rifle. Personal injury to your eye or head is likely if this important warning is ignored!!!
HINT: For ultimate accuracy at all ranges, ensure that the vertical crosshair is perpendicular to the bow string and that the horizontal crosshairs are parallel with the bow string.
“LO READY”
CROSSBOW SLING
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Properly adjusted, the CAMX “Lo Ready” obsoletes standard rifle slings and will literally change the way you hunt. Hands free use allows for easy transport of stands and gear and when on stand, keeps your crossbow “on the ready” for any unexpected shot opportunity.

CAMX CHAOS 325 Compound Crossbow - CROSSBOW SLING

A sturdy belt must be worn on your trousers for proper function. Next, remove the two sling keepers from the quick disconnect buckles. Unsnap both keepers. For right shoulder carry, lace one keeper behind your belt, to the front, just behind your first trouser belt loop to the left and snap closed. See Figure 24. Next, lace the second keeper to the rear just left of the center of your back and snap closed. See Figure 25.

CAMX CHAOS 325 Compound Crossbow - CROSSBOW SLING1

Position the padded shoulder pad with black, non-skid surface down and the single point stock tether in front of your chest. Attach the sling to the keepers, front and back, using the quick connect fasteners. While keeping the shoulder pad centered, adjust the length of the sling to eliminate all slack.
Your CAMX crossbow has been pre-built with sling buttons in the stock. Simply drop the sling attachment tab over the inside button and pull until the tab locks into place. See Figure 26.

Your crossbow is now in the “Low Ready “position.
See Figure 27. Push the tab forward to remove the tether from the crossbow.
For Winter use, wear the “Lo Ready” under your jacket allowing the stock tether with tab to protrude from the top of the zipper.

CAMX CHAOS 325 Compound Crossbow - CROSSBOW SLING3

For “shoulder carry”, simply attach the sling to the stock button and position the crossbow over and behind your right shoulder. The bow unit will hang downward balancing perfectly along your side, allowing you to slip through brush easily with both hands free. See Figure 28.

CAMX CHAOS 325 Compound Crossbow - CROSSBOW SLING4

CAMX CHAOS 325 Compound Crossbow - CROSSBOW SLING5

NOTE: The stock tether has an independent quick length adjustment which is used to refine the strap length for various applications, for instance; when  sitting you may choose to slightly shorten thestrap and during shoulder carry you may choose to lengthen  it.

CHOOSING THE RIGHT ARROW

We spent hundreds of hours in the field and on the range to develop and supply the most consistent and accurate crossbow arrows known. Your new CHAOS 325 has been supplied with CAMX Accuspine™ arrows to meet the challenge. These wrapped carbon arrows have been engineered to provide optimum balance of speed, accuracy, durability, penetration, ballistic coefficient and continued crossbow life. This arrow will serve the hunter well in harvesting all but the largest game on the earth. For your safety and the
safe operation of your crossbow, never shoot arrows that do not meet the following specifications:
20” Minimum length 400 grains Minimum, (total arrow weight) 11/32” or 0.348” Diameter Flat back Nocks
It is crucial that you always select the proper arrow for your crossbow. Your crossbow stores tremendous energy and that energy is released through the arrow when fired.
Shooting damaged arrow or arrows that do not meet the manufacturer’s recommendations is a dangerous practice that could result in injury or death to the shooter or others and will void CAMX warranty.
ARROW SAFETY
Before shooting, make a visual inspection of each arrow for damage. Flex the arrow slightly to reveal cracks, splinters, delamination or impact crush marks. Discard any arrow showing these signs. Inspect for loose fletching and damaged flat backed drivers.
Do not shoot these arrows until repaired.
Never Dry Fire the crossbow or shoot it without an arrow.

CARE, MAINTENANCE, STORAGE and SERVICE

Your new CAMX crossbow is a high quality, precision hunting weapon. Occasionally, minimal maintenance is required to ensure your continued successes and the crossbow’s performance. Prior to every outing make a habit of conducting a quick inspection of strings, cables, wheel, arrows and all fasteners. It’s crucial that your crossbow be in safe working order prior to heading afield.
GENERAL
Keep your crossbow clean and dry. Lightly lubricate trigger components, axles and steel components with a high quality gun oil to insure performance and reduce rust and oxidation.
Store your crossbow in a cool dry place when not in use. Never leave your crossbow exposed to extreme heat source such as a furnace vent or enclosed automobile trunk on a hot sunny day. High heat is the enemy of crossbow limbs and synthetic strings and cables.
A padded crossbow case will work well for long term storage and keep your crossbow free of dust and debris. When storing for long periods it is not necessary to relax or unstring the crossbow.
BEFORE EACH SHOOTING SESSION, THOROUGHLY INSPECT ALL COMPONENTS AND FASTENERS AND TIGHTEN AS NECESSARY. COMPONENTS SHOWING SIGNS OF EXCESSIVE WEAR SHOULD BE REPLACED PRIOR TO SHOOTING.
NEVER ATTEMPT TO TRANSPORT YOUR CROSSBOW WHILE COCKED OR LOADED.
Strings & Cables
Always maintain your crossbows strings and cables. Proper maintenance will greatly extend their life. Your crossbow string and cables should be replaced prior to each season or as needed. Crossbow strings and cables are constructed of multiple fibers and as such require frequent lubrication to prevent fraying and dry rot. A quality string/rail lubricant should be applied to exposed fibers. Extra lubricant should be applied to areas where the cables cross. Reapply as needed, especially after hunting in the rain. The barrel on your crossbow has been coated with a special TEFLON® finish to reduce string wear. Applying a rail lubricant tthe top surface is not necessary however you may choose to do so. When applying a rail lubricant to the top surface of the barrel, be careful not to over lubricate or wax the center section of the string. Over lubrication may cause a build-up of lubricant in the trigger assembly adversely affecting its proper function and safety.
IF YOUR STRING OR CABLES ARE FRAYED, SHOW SIGNS OF EXCESSIVE WEAR OR HAVE BROKEN STRANDS, REPLACE THE STRING OR CABLES IMMEDIATELY PRIOR TO SHOOTING.
Never shoot your crossbow if the center served portion of the string is frayed, broken or missing.
Use only genuine CAMX replacement strings, cables and components. Use of components other than those supplied, approved and/or manufactured by CAMX Outdoors Inc. may not only void your warranty but could result in bodily injury.
Factory Service
Although a local archery pro shop may be capable of routine string and cable changes, we highly recommend taking advantage of the CAMX factory service department when possible, for all your service needs.
