LED Mirror Power Source FAQ

Scenario 1
(Direct Wired)
This is the most common way to connect the mirror. The LED light & anti fog pad are both controlled by the built-in touch switch on the mirror.
*The LED light is dimmable.
Scenario 2
(Wall Switch)
By doing so, the mirror is now bridged to the wall switch. In order to turn on the mirror, the wall switch needs to be on. The touch switch canbe used to turn on the LED mirror and anti-fog pad. The mirror shuts down once the wall switch is flipped to OFF. DYCONN M14AT Swan LED Backlit Mirror - LED
MirrorScenario 3
(Wall Switch – No Dimmer)
By doing so, the mirror’s light and anti-fog pad are now controlled by the wall switch. This is without the need touse the built-in touch switch. The touch switch is disabled.
The LED and anti fog pad are now controlled only by the wall switch.
Scenario 4
(Wall Dimmer Switch — Not Accepted)
This is a scenario that is not acceptable. There is no work around for our mirror.
Do not try this way as it will damage the LED driver. DYCONN M14AT Swan LED

Dyconn Faucet LED Mirror 48-inch and above Frequently Asked Questions &

Troubleshooting Guide

1.Can| connect toa dimmeron the ill to dim the mirtor (ELV or non ELV dimmer)

Answer: Unfortunately,no,the mirror cannot be connected toanELY dimmer ortraditional non-ELV dimmer switch. All Dyconn Faucet mirtors contin low voltage LEDs and the power supply willnot work propery the source AC saltered thiough a wall AC dirmer.

2.Can I connect toa non-dimmer wallswitch?

Answer Yes. Our mirmors can conect to @ non-cimrmable wall switch and use the on/off/dim touch sensor switch on the mirror regularly or you can bypass the touch sensor to allow the non-dimmable wall switch to controlthe LED mirror's light and defogger pad. Please note that bypassing the touch sensor willalso resultin the loss o dimming functionaity. To do so, lease refer to page 7 onthe manual for connecting without touich sensor switch

3.Why does the 72inch mirror not have adimming function?

Answer: In order to provide the maximum ighting output, al our large size mirrors are fitted with dual bands of light strips (except tri-color models). By doing so the 72-inch mirror power consumption exceedsthe capacity o the touch sensor toallow dimming functionlity.

. Whydothe large mirors (481nch and above) not indlude the hanging mounting bracket ke all other smaller mirmors? Wouldnt that be simpler for instalr to hang the mirror?

Answer: We recommend securingthe large mirrors using two wall tuds. The mirror i designed to have the ront mirror glass removeable from the main bracket housing and llow the installer b able to secure the metal housing tothe wall studs. Once the metal housing bracket i secured, hang the mior backontothe housing and connect all wire connections betuween the glass and the mein housing with the help o two or three people.

. How fardoes the wiring extend from the back of the mirror?

Answer: The wiring extends about 24-inches to connect tothe box (box notincluded).

6. Where should the instalerprepare the J-box for wring?

Answer: Al miror vire connections arelocated ead center” of the back housing, regardless ofthe sze of the mirror.

7.Canthe LED Miror be used asthe onlyliht source in the bathroom? Accordingto it lumen output it seems enough for lighting up 2100m?

Answer: We donotrecommend our miors to e the sole light source of any room. The lumens of our LED mirrors might seem high, but the LED mirror' lightis partially confined behind the glass and sourced through the frosted stips (es it was designed to do). ‘This will reduce the lumen output significantly if we are comparing with a recessed down light's lumen output.

FAQfor Tri-color (model # ending with TorWC)

8 Howfardoes the wiring extend from the backaof the mirnor?

Answer.Yes. The elctrician can bypass the touchssensor, havingthe DC power fiom the intemal pover supply feed directly to the LED stips and let the non- immable well switch to control the mirror. The down side s that youwill have to choose between 3000K or 6400K at hlfis brightness or 4000K at s full brightness some wie: soldering might be required)

9.If|connect the mirror to a non-dimmable wal switch can | set the desired light temperature and brightness level?

Answer.Yes,the tri-color models have amemory function allowing the last light temperature and brightness stting to be the recalled whenyou tur on the walswitch. To do so just turn on the light switch on the wallto iniial the power to the mirror, press the touch sensor to select the light temperature, then press and hold the touch sensor switch to dim to the level you lice. Once you have reached your desired ight temperature and brightness, simply tur off the mirror sing the wall switch (don't tur the mirror off by using touch sensor). The next time youuse the mirror, turn on the wall switch and touch one time on the touch sensor and the mirror will turn on with the brightness ‘and temperature settings you set last time.

Troubleshooting:

1.Right out of the box, we connected the AC poweer to the back o the mirmor o see f the mirtor functions properly (before hanging the mirron), but there s no light and touch sensor doesn't iht up. Why s that?

Answer. For the large mirors 48-inch and up),there are wires that need to be connected in order for the mior tofunction. The mirtor lassis designed to be separatectfrom its metal housing during nstalltion.Insalles would be required to disconnectany wiring inside when removing the mirtor glass. We ship the mirors ‘without connecting these wires inside the unit to make installation more convenient.

2. Why does the touch sensor seemto be untesponsive?

Answer: Do not use your fingertips on the touch sensor. Ensure that you are. using the flat part of your finger/thumb (your fingerprint). Please make sure you are using your finger to tap/touch at amoderate speed (once per second). Do not tap/touch the mirnor sensor switch at a speedaster than tuice per second. This willcause the sensor CPUto malfunction. A dircuit breaker reset wil b required to reset the touch sensor.

3.Whyis mymirtor making humming/buzzing noise?

. Why s the LED flickering?
