DV MARK DV7 Booster Volume Boost
GETTING STARTED
BOOST
To set up the Level Boost, plug your instrument into the Input Jack (5), and
connect the Output Jack (6) to your amplifier, after connecting a +9/+12VDC to
the DC IN (7) or powering the pedal with a standard 9V battery. Turn the boost
on using the right footswitch (3), making sure the LED on the Level Boost
slider is ON (this indicates that the effect is active). Next, adjust the
Level Boost slider while toggling the footswitch (3) on and off, comparing the
volume of the direct signal with the boosted signal. Match the gain level as
closely as you can to the direct signal, then adjust the Level Boost slider to
the desired amount of added gain or cut. The suggested use of the boost is to
leave it turned off until it’s time to solo, then switch it on (3) for a quick
level boost when you begin your solo. You can easily apply this to ANY
situation where you need two different, quickly accessible playing volumes.
7-BAND GRAPHIC EQ
To audition the EQ, the first step on the left footswitch (4), making sure the
LEDs on the EQ sections are ON (this indicates that the effect is active) and
with the EQ sliders (2) in a flat position (0 dB). Next, dial them in
gradually one slider at a time to discover how they affect your sound EQ, and
taylor your guitar tone.

FUNCTIONS OVERVIEW
-
LEVEL BOOST (1)
This control increases your instrument’s volume without changing its sound (from 0dB to 20dB). -
7-BAND GRAPHIC EQ SECTION (2)
The 7 frequency bands were specifically chosen because they are the most used for tailoring guitar tones:- 50Hz for drop-D tuning
- 100Hz for heavy rhythm
- 250 Hz and 400 Hz shape the lower mids to give body and depth to the sound
- 800 Hz can be used for boosting for solos and/or power chord rhythms, or cutting for scooped tone and/or heavy rhythm
- 1.6 kHz can help you cut through the mix or cut for high-end scooped tone
- 4 kHz is for more presence and touch dynamics.
Each band can be boosted or cut over a +/-16dB range. EQ can be very useful to eliminate feedback on your acoustic instruments.
-
*BOOST SWITCH (3)** – The LED on the slider level indicates that the boost is engaged.
-
*EQ SWITCH (4)** – The LEDs on the sliders indicate that the EQ is activated.
TRUE BYPASS
