UNFOLDING YOUR FLEXIGUARD
Lay your barrier on the floor with the handle in the upper left corner.
Swing the bottom right corner up as shown as far as it can go. This is
important to allow the hinges to swivel when unfolding.Place your palm on the frame at
(A) and unfold the barrier by pulling the upper bar towards you at
(B).
POSITIONING YOUR FLEXIGUARD
Check the width of the opening in which you intend to fit your flexiguard. The
smallest opening is 71cm and the largest is 92cm. Due to the nature of the
pressure fit fixing method, this gate must be used in a strong and secure
opening. All fixing surfaces must be clean and free from grease and dirt.
NOTES ON STAIRCASE POSITIONING
WARNING : The flexiguard is designed for use as a temporary solution
ideal for travel. We do not recommend using it at the top of a staircase if
you have a more suitable alternative such as a Lindam Extending or Single
Panel sofety gate.
WARNING: The position of your sofety barrier in relation to the stairs is
very important for your child’s safety. Your barrier may be better positioned
across your hall or landing to prevent access to the stairs completely. If you
must position your barrier at the top of the stairs to prevent your child
descending, the gate must be fitted on the very top stair. If you intend to
use the barrier at the bottom of the stairs then it must be placed on the
lowest stair, towards the front of the step, away from the 2nd step.
INSERTING YOUR FLEXIGUARD
Set your handle to the open position by pressing the button on the top and
lifting. The horizontal bars of your flexiguard are telescopic to allow easy
adjustment. Position your flexiguard upright in your doorway and, by firmly
pulling on opposite sides, extend the barrier as wide as possible.
If you
need to reduce the width of the barrier you must press the release buttons
which are concealed beneath the fabric where shown.
Your
Flexiguard must be installed so that the space between the lower bar and the
floor is between 12mm and 25mm. With the handle still open turn the lower
spindle anteclockwise until the lower bar is tight within the door frame.
Repeat
with the spindle above it on the upper bar. You may also wish to screw out the
spindle at the handle side (eg to account for a skirting board if situated in
a hallway). When your barrier is tight and correctly located press down the
handle to lock its position.
REMOVING YOUR FLEXIGUARD
To remove your flexiguard simply lift the handle and press the concealed release buttons to contract your barrier. You should screw in alll the spindles, so they can be wound out again next time you need to fit your flexiguard.
FOLDING YOUR FLEXIGUARD
Extend your barrier fully and simply follow the unfolding instructions in reverse.
CLEANING YOUR FLEXIGUARD
Simply wipe with a soft damp cloth. Do not use harsh or abrasive cleaning agents.
