CONTROLS

To learn more about controls and custom shortcuts, visit Device Settings in the Alexa app.

POWER & PAIRING

POWER ON Open the temples (arms) to power on.
PAIRING Press and hold the front and back action buttons for 3 seconds.
Your Status Light should pulse orange to indicate you are in pairing mode.
POWER OFF Close the temples (arms) to power off. To power off while wearing your smart glasses, press both action buttons for 10 seconds.

FRONT ACTION BUTTON

ACCEPT A CALL/ACCEPT NOTIFICATION Press the front action button once.
PAUSE/RESUME MEDIA Press the front action button once.
MUTE/UNMUTE MIC Press the front action button twice.
TALK TO ALEXA In addition to voice, you can press and hold the front action button, listen for the chime, then ask without having to say “Alexa.”

BACK ACTION BUTTON

REJECT A CALL/DECLINE NOTIFICATION Press the back action button once.
PLAY RECOMMENDED PLAYLIST Press the back action button twice.
TALK TO GOOGLE ASSISTANT/SIRI Press and hold the back action button, listen for the chime, then ask.

VOLUME CONTROL
INCREASE VOLUME Press the front of the volume control.
DECREASE VOLUME Press the back of the volume control.

STATUS LIGHT

Your smart glasses have two status lights. The one on the right is selected by default.
Your status light tells you when a notification comes in, when Alexa is active, and more.

To select which status light you prefer to set for your smart glasses
(left or right), visit Device Settings in the Alexa app.

CHARGING STAND

Insert your smart glasses into the stand with the lenses facing up (not forward).
A pulsing white light displays while the stand detects your smart glasses.
When proper placement is detected, the blinking light goes to a solid color depending on the smart glasses battery status. If it blinks red, re-insert your smart glasses into the stand.
Plug charging stand into a safety certified 5W USB power adapter (not included).

SMART GLASSES COMFORT

Your smart glasses should fit comfortably on your nose and around your ears.

CHECK THE FOLLOWING AREAS

  1. EAR AREA
    Put on your smart glasses and slide them all the way back, so they are sitting comfortably on your nose. The temples (arms) should not push onto your ears.

  2. NOSE BRIDGE AREA
    Your nose should fit comfortably under the bridge. Your smart glasses should not be too tight or too loose.

Depending on how your smart glasses feel on your face, you can adjust your temple tips with your hands (no tools required).

PAIRING WITH OTHER DEVICES

You can connect your smart glasses simultaneously to up to two devices for convenient multitasking (e.g. phone and laptop).

  1. PRESS AND HOLD THE ACTION BUTTONS
    Press and hold the front and back action buttons on the right temple for 3 seconds. Release the buttons when the status light blinks orange. This indicates that your smart glasses are discoverable and ready to pair.
    Alternatively, to pair a second device while connected to the Alexa app, go to device settings in the Alexa app to initiate pairing.

  2. SELECT ECHO FRAMES
    On the device you want to pair with, go to the Bluetooth settings and select Echo Frames to complete pairing.

Alexa functionality will remain available if one of your connected devices is connected to the Alexa app.

DESIGNED TO PROTECT YOUR PRIVACY

WAKE WORDS AND INDICATORS
Alexa doesn’t begin listening until your smart glasses detect the wake word (for example, “Alexa”). An audible tone or a blue status light lets you know when audio is being sent to Amazon’s secure cloud.

MICROPHONE CONTROLS
To mute your smart glasses microphones at anytime for privacy, simply press the front action button twice.

VOICE HISTORY
Want to know exactly what Alexa heard? You can view and delete your voice recordings in the Alexa app at any time.

THINGS TO TRY WITH ALEXA

OPEN-EAR AUDIO

  • Call your loved ones hands-free while staying present, say “Alexa, call mom”
  • Try going for a walk while listening to your audiobook, say “Alexa, resume my audiobook”

CONTROL YOUR HOME

  • Turn on your smart lights as you return home, say “Alexa, lights on”
  • Control your smart TV without having to speak over it, say “Alexa, TV off”

CONTROL YOUR SMART GLASSES

  • Check the battery level, say “Alexa, what is my battery level?”

Intended Use:
PLAIN LENS: Echo Frames are spectacle frames intended to hold prescription lenses. They come with non-corrective lenses.
SUNGLASS LENS: Nonprescription sunglasses consist of spectacle frames with absorbing, reflective, tinted, polarizing, or photosensitized lenses intended to be worn by a person to protect the eyes from bright sunlight but not to provide refractive corrections.
BLUE LIGHT FILTERING LENS: Nonprescription spectacle frames with non- corrective lenses intended to be worn by a person to filter out blue light.

SAFETY INFORMATION

BE AWARE OF SURROUNDINGS
PAY ATTENTION. Similar to other electronic devices, use of Echo Frames may divert your attention from other activities or impair your ability to hear surrounding sounds, including alarms and warning signals. Usage of colored lenses at night may be inappropriate, particularly if driving. Do not wear while driving if the eyewear impairs your peripheral vision or impacts your ability to recognize traffic signals.
Your device also contains a visible LED light that may distract you. For your safety and the safety of others, avoid using this device in a way that distracts you from activities that require your attention. For example, distracted driving can be dangerous and result in serious injury, death, or property damage. Always pay full attention to the road. Do not allow interactions with this device or Alexa to distract you while driving. Check and obey the applicable laws and regulations on the use of this device while operating a vehicle. You are solely responsible for safely operating your vehicle and complying with all applicable laws regarding use of electronic devices while driving. Always observe posted road signs, traffic laws, and road conditions.
Turn off the device or adjust your volume if you find it disruptive or distracting while operating any type of vehicle or performing any activity that requires your full attention.

BATTERY SAFETY
HANDLE WITH CARE. Your device contains a rechargeable lithium-ion battery and should be replaced only by a qualified service provider. Do not disassemble, remove or attempt to modify or access the battery in your device. Avoid dropping the device or battery. If the device or battery is dropped, especially on a hard surface, and the user suspects damage, do not attempt repair. Contact Amazon Customer Service for assistance.
Keep the device and its power adapter in a well-ventilated area and away from heat sources, especially when in use or charging. Your device uses the USB cable provided and a USB charger or USB port that is compliant with safety standards, such as IEC 62368. Do not charge your device near water or in extremely humid conditions.
For models that support use of a wireless charger, ensure there are no metallic or magnetic foreign objects on the charger (such as coins, jewelry, metallic cases, keys, bank cards or other items) when charging. In limited circumstances, use of third party accessories may void your device’s limited warranty. Read all safety instructions for any accessories before using with your device.
Your device should only be charged using the included charging stand and USB charging cable. The provided charging stand and USB charging cable should be powered using a certified USB charger or USB charging port that is compliant with safety standards IEC/UL 62368-1 and/or IEC/UL 60950-1

AVOID PROLONGED LISTENING AT HIGH VOLUME. Prolonged listening of the player at high volume can damage the ear of the user. To prevent possible hearing damage, users should not listen at high volume levels for long periods.

DO NOT USE AS EYE PROTECTION. The lenses of this device have been tested as impact resistant within the meaning of 21 CFR 801.410, but are not shatterproof or indestructible.
SUNGLASS LENS: Do Not use the device for direct viewing of the sun or for protection against artificial light sources (e.g. tanning beds) as it may affect your vision or damage your eyes.

THIS DEVICE CONTAINS MAGNETS
This device and included charging cable contain magnets. Under certain circumstances, magnets may cause interference with some internal medical devices, including pacemakers and insulin pumps. This device and these accessories should be kept away from such medical devices.

WATER PROTECTION
Although Echo Frames have been tested to comply with IEC 60529-IPX4, the device is not waterproof and should not be immersed in water or other liquids.

  • Do not rinse under running water.
  • Do not spill food, oil, lotion, or other abrasive substances on the device.
  • Do not expose the device to pressurized water, high velocity water, soapy water, or extremely humid conditions (such as a steam room).
  • Do not immerse or submerge the device in water or expose the device to seawater, salt water, chlorinated water, or other liquids (such as beverages).
  • Do not wear the device while participating in water sports, e.g. swimming, waterskiing, surfing, etc.

If your Echo Frames are exposed to water or sweat, follow these instructions:

  • Wipe the device with a soft, dry cloth. Allow the device to fully dry in a well ventilated area.
  • Do not attempt to dry the device with an external heat source (such as a microwave, oven, or hair dryer).
  • Failure to properly dry the device before charging may lead to compromised performance, charging issues, or erosion of components over time.

Dropping or otherwise damaging the Echo Frames may increase the possibility that exposure to water or sweat could harm the device.

OTHER USE AND CARE INSTRUCTIONS

  • Clean this device with a soft dry cloth. Do not use water, chemicals, or abrasive materials to clean the frames. To clean the lenses, use an alcohol free lens cleaner and a soft cloth.
  • Improper maintenance of this device may lead to skin irritation or injury. If skin, hearing or other problems develop, discontinue use immediately and consult a physician.
  • To reduce the risk of electrostatic discharge upon contact with this device, avoid such contact in extremely dry conditions.
  • Do not expose this device to extreme heat or cold. Store them in a location where temperatures remain within the storage temperature ratings set for thin this guide. The device and the included accessories are designed to function within the operating temperature ratings set forth in this guide. If it is too hot or too cold, they may not turn on or function properly until they have warmed or cooled, as the case may be, to within the applicable temperature ratings.
  • Do not attempt to uninstall/install lenses into the device yourself, improper handling could damage the device or result in injury.
  • This device and its included accessories are not intended for children and should not be used by children under the age of 14.
