DETERMINE WHERE TO MOUNT & BEGIN DRILLING

a) INSIDE/CEILING MOUNTING:

(A minimum 2 inches in depth is required or 3¾ inches for flush mount)

  • Test the location for the end mounting bracket 2½ to 6 inches from the end of each headrail side.
  • Mark the mounting bracket locations upward through the holes with a pencil (ensure that round open part of the bracket is facing downwards).
  • Use the screws to anchor in the (pencil marked) top bracket holes to firmly attach the mounting brackets to the surface.
  • Note: If drilling into drywall, you have the option of using the wall anchors provided.

b) OUTISDE or WALL MOUNTING:

(A minimum ½ inch flat wall space is necessary.)

  • Test the location for the end mounting bracket 2 ½ to 6 inches from the end of each headrail side.
  • Mark the mounting bracket locations towards the back, rear holes with a pencil (ensure that round open part of the bracket is facing downwards).
  • Use the screws to anchor in the (pencil marked) rear bracket holes to firmly attach the mounting brackets to the surface. If drilling into drywall you have the option of using the drywall anchors.

MOUNTING

Place the top rail under the brackets and touch the plastic plug to the rail’s outer ridge, then press inward and lift upward to complete the mount.

HOW TO OPERATE

  • To lower the shade: grip the handle and slowly pull straight down.
  • To raise the shade: put one hand under the handle and slowly lift until the desired height is reached.

Always push and pull at the center of the shade to assure that the bottom of the shade remains even (i.e. parallel to the top of the shade). If the shade becomes uneven, slowly pull it all the way down and then lift to the desired position.

CLEANING & CARE

Roll your shade all the way down and use a feather duster or vacuum lightly using the soft brush attachment on low setting.

TROUBLESHOOTING TIPS:

  • Light is coming through the sides: The fabric is always less wide than the headrail so that the shade can move up and down. Look for “shade side tracks” from your local hardware store or online store.
  • To remove your shades: Press the top rail and turn the rail downwards.
  • Adjusting the tension on your shade: If the shade can not be raised or raises by itself, there is a screw that will need to be adjusted on the right side of the headrail to increase or decrease the tension in your shade. You can find this screw by gently removing the cover on the right-hand side of your valance. (1) TURN CLOCKWISE (only 1 or 2 turns)
  • If you are having trouble raising your shade, you may want to decrease the tension by turning this screw slightly clockwise. (2) TURN COUNTER-CLOCKWISE (only 1 or 2 turns)
  • If your shade has trouble staying in one place, either raising on its own slightly or raising too quickly, you will need to turn this screw slightly counter-clockwise to increase the tension to a level that keeps the bottom rail in place.
