CONTROL ARM
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTION

FITMENT

  • For Ford Mustang 1979 – 2004
  • For Ford Mustang 4CYL, 6CYL,8CYL GT or LX 1979 – 2004
  • For Mercury Capri 1979 – 1986
  • For Cobras 1993 – 1998

Note : (This item will not fit the 1994 – 2004 Mustang Cobra with the independent rear suspension)

PRODUCT INFORMATION

These control arms come with tublar design which will be more stronger and durable than your stamped OEM ones.

INSTRUCTION

  1. Jack the rear end of the vehicle and support the frame with floor jack stands. Remove the wheels and tires.

  2. Disconnect the brake line from the bracket tab.

  3. Put a floor jack stand and support the rear differential.

  4.  Remove the sway bar from both sides and remove the brake line tab from the lower control arm. Repeat on the opposite side. Get the sway bar out and set it aside.

  5. Move the floor jack and support on the axle where is closer to the lower control arm. Disconnect the lower shock bolt (18mm). Disconnect the quad shock. Repeat on the opposite side. Lower down the floor jack evenly and release the spring at both sides. now you can take the springs out and remove the lower control arms.

  6. Install a new lower control arm to the vehicle with new hardware provided. Put the spring back into the stock location. Jack up the floor jack and re-connect the quad shock first and then re-connect the shock bottom bolt. Tighten the bolts down. repeat on the opposite side.

  7. Before re-connecting the brake line, you need to cut the tab of the brake line bracket first as the below pic shows so that the bracket can sit flush on the new control arm bracket.

  8. Attach the sway bar and the bracket to the new lower control arm with factory bolts and tighten them by hand.
    Repeat on the opposite side. Now tighten all bolts down. Grab the brake line and clip it right back into that bracket and repeat on the opposite side.

  9. Remove the upper control arm. Make sure that the diff is supported by a floor jack stand. Lose the bolts(18mm) con- necting the upper control arm to the diff and car frame. Remove the stock control arm. Repeat on the opposite side.

  10. Install new upper controls on both sides and torque all bolts down. Check the pinion angle and put the wheels and tires on.

MAINTENANCE

Highly suggest drivers inspect the nuts and bolts for tightness regularly.
Note : All modifications must be installed by qualified personnel and in compliance with your local modification regulations.
