System Requirements for Setup
Hardware Requirements
In order to set up the Stretch HDMITM HDFC-200D, you will need:
- A HDMI display source (Media player, PC or laptop) that supports the maximum graphic resolution feature of the display (TV, Monitor or Projector) you wish to connect.
Note: There are no special requirements for memory size, CPU speed, and chipsets if you have already properly installed your HDMI systems.
Software Requirements
There are no special software restrictions if you have already properly installed your HDMI systems.
AC/DC Power Adapter Technical Advisory
The HDFC-200D is designed to use +5V internal power supplied through a HDMI pin (#18) on the graphic source port. However, HDFC-200D requires USB power supply on RX side to power up. Warning: Do not connect the micro HDMI connector, which is placed on the end part of the core cable, directly to any micro HDMI receptacle other than the HDFC-200D body part. Using the micro HDMI connector without the HDFC200D connector will damage the cable and/or HDMI devices.
Installation
Important: Please follow the installation procedure below to ensure proper operation.
-
Unpack the contents of the shipping group.
-
Connect both the connector and cable of HDFC-200D if they are not engaged with each other.
-
Plug the USB connector of the RX side into a USB port on the display and check if the blue LED of RX is ON.
-
Plug the HDMI plug of the RX side of HDFC-200D into the HDMI receptacle of a display.
-
Plug the HDMI plug of the TX side of HDFC-200D directly into
the HDMI receptacle of the HDMI source (Media player, PC or laptop) and check if the LED of the TX side is ON. -
If the system does not work properly, refer to page 1-4 for troubleshooting.
Note: Opticis does NOT recommend customers to use any intermediate cable
or adapter between them as it may deteriorate the signal transmission
performance.
Note: If there is no display after Step 5, kindly unplug either the TX or
RX side of HDFC-200D and re-plug them back into the HDMI source.
Note: HDFC-200D can utilize the +5V power supplied through a HDMI pin
(#18) from the HDMI source. However, you have to confirm that the power is
capable of supplying more than 500mA. If the HDMI source doesn’t supply enough
power, you can make a customized order of HDFC-200D with a USB power cable on
the TX side for supplying power (optional). Note: Many HDMI sources,
especially HDMI 2.0 products, would be able to supply sufficient DC power to
operate HDFC-200D on the TX side.
Troubleshooting
If the display only shows a black screen, please follow these troubleshooting steps:
- Ensure that the HDMI ports are firmly plugged into the HDMI source and display.
- Ensure that the TX and RX modules are plugged correctly into the HDMI source and display respectively.
- Ensure that the blue power LEDs on the TX and RX modules are on.
