Installation Instructions

Intended Use – This switch harness has been designed for installation and use inside cabinets of furniture.

Warnings

  • This switch harness is not designed nor should it be used for illumination of aquariums.
  • This switch harness is not designed nor should it be used for illumination in plastic cabinets. Improper installation or using light fixtures with a total wattage of more than the maximum of 300 watts listed or a different type of fixture may result in fire, electrical shock, and other hazards.

Installation – The switch harness has been designed to be mounted in the TOP / BACK / BOTTOM of a cabinet or furniture. The switch harness has been provided with mounting holes. After the fixture is placed or installed (mounted), it should be secured with a minimum of two wood screws. Switch harnesses may be provided with various types of switches. Care should be used during installation and use to prevent any damage to the power supply cord, polarized plugs, power cord, or harness fixture itself. ANY switch harness which has visible damage should not be installed. (Contact the manufacturer for disposal /replacement instructions). This harness fixture has been designed for open or closet-top cabinets.
NO attempt should be made to modify or repair this switch harness. (Contact manufacturer for instructions). This harness fixture has a MAXIMUM WATTAGE label applied to it. It is the installer’s responsibility to ensure that this label is visible to the end user (customer/owner).

Installation Precautions

  1. Use only insulated staples or plastic ties to secure cords.
  2. Route and secure cords so that they will not be pinched or damaged when the cabinet is pushed to the wall.
  3. Do not conceal a power supply cord (or power supply) inside a wall, ceiling, soffit, kitchen cabinet, or similar permanent structure.
  4. Do not run the power supply cord through homes in walls, ceilings, or floors.

The instructions shall identify the manufacturer and model designations of the intended portable cabinet light.
