How to Use the Product as Sunglasses

Protection against the risk of damage to the eyes due to exposure to sunlight. Category and type of filter can be found on the package bar code label. The number indicates the category of the filter. This number indicates the filter in bright light. Please see Table 1 for an explanation of the protection based on sunglasses category.

Limitations of Use

  • Not for direct observation of the sun.

  • Not for protection against artificial light sources, e.g. solaria, sun lamps, lasers, etc.

  • Never stare directly at the sun or at an eclipse with or without sunglasses.

  • Not for use as eye protection against mechanical impact hazards. Sunglasses are not intended for industrial safety eyewear or hish-risk impact sports participants.

  • Not suitable for welding purposes. Lenses in sunglasses must meet applicable federal requirements for impact resistance but they ARE NOT SHATTERPROOF.
    This product is not fire resistant.

Charging

To charge the device, use the supplied cable to connect the magnetic charging terminal to a USB 5V power source. The LED will illuminate red while charging and turn off when charging is complete.

Vuzix smart glasses ship with a partial charge. It is recommended that the battery be fully charged for first time use.

Vuzix Connect App

Notification and display settings are managed on your mobile device within the Vusi Connect app, available for iOS and Android. Scan the code below to install on your mobile device.

Bluetooth Connection Glasses Display

On bootup, the glasses will search for a previously paired mobile device and the LED will light solid green when powered on and searching.|
To enter pairing mode, press and hold the power button for 8 seconds until the LED turns blue, then release.
The LED will blink blue while the glasses are pairing.
The name of the glasses will be displayed. Select this name on the mobile device in the Connect app.|
When a successful connection is made, the LED will light solid blue for a few seconds and the phone name will display.|

Temple Touch

Some functions allow interaction by a finger touch to the outside of the temples.

Adjusting Fit & Display

The image in the glasses can be adjusted vertically by pinching or spreading the nose bridge. The location of the text in the display can be adjusted within the Vuzix Connect app in the Settings tab.

Cleaning

Treat your smart glasses as you would any quality eyewear. It is mostly maintenance free and only requires to be wiped down periodically, using only a microfiber cloth to clean the device.

Caution: Do not spray with cleaners. If required, use microfiber cloth moistened with standard eyeglass cleaner. Avoid spills. Solvents, household cleaners and paper towels should never be used on your device.
Caution: This device is not water resistant. Avoid submerging or exposure to moisture. Excessive moisture will damage the device.
Caution: Do not pack loose objects with the smart glasses while storing. Loose objects may cause damage to the device.

Any Changes or modifications not expressly approved by the party responsible for compliance could void
the user’s authority to operate the equipment.

This device complies with part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) This device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation.
