CONTROLLER

Basic Controller Functions

  • Press to open or close Bulldog Motor.
  • Press to reset the leak alarm.
  • Press to pair leak sensors, emergency stop buttons, and remote buttons.

Controller LEDs

LED above – Current System State

  • (Green): System is armed and ready. The valve is open.
  • (Red): System is armed and ready. The valve is closed.
  • (Green, Red): The valve Motor is not fully closed, not fully open, or the Valve Motor control wire is not connected.
  • (Green, Blue, Red): Your Bulldog Controller has detected a leak and shut off your water.

NOTE: Your water shutoff valve cannot be opened until the leak alarm is reset.

  • (Red): Valve is set to open.
  • (No Colour): Valve is set to close.

LED above – Wi-Fi Status

  • (Solid Blue): Your Bulldog Controller is connected to Wi-Fi.
  • (Blinking Blue): Your Bulldog Motor is closed.

Device pairing

NOTE: All devices included with your Starter Kit have already been paired with your Bulldog Controller.

Pairing Leak Sensors

  1. Press the button.
  2. Place a leak sensor on a wet paper towel and allow it to go through 2-3 beep cycles.
  3. Once the Leak Sensor or Emergency Stop button is paired, your Bulldog controller will enter an alert state.
  4. Clear the leak alert by pressing the Button.
  5. Click the button to re-open your water shutoff valve.

Pairing Optional Remote Button or Emergency Stop Button

  1. Press the button.
  2. Press and hold the Remote button.

Unpairing Devices

  • All paired devices can be removed by pressing and holding the button for 5 seconds until the red LED blinks.

MAINTENANCE

  • Maintenance should be performed every 6 months to ensure your device is armed and in working order.

Check Leak Sensor Battery
NOTE: Testing a Leak Sensors will trigger a leak alert.

  1. Set your leak sensor on a wet paper towel.
  2. Listen for the number of beeps.
  • (2 beeps): Battery is charged.
  • (3 beeps): Battery is low and needs to be replaced.
  • (No beeps): The battery is dead, or the leak sensor is not properly being triggered.
  • (Beeps but no leak alert): Leak Sensor is unpaired or non-functional.

Replace the Leak Sensor Battery

  1. Twist the leak sensor lid counterclockwise and lift.
  2. Replace the battery with Type A23 12 Volt only.
  3. Line up alignment marks. Close and lock with a clockwise twist.

Check Bulldog Functionality

  1. Close your bulldog water valve using the button.
  2. Turn on the water at the highest point in the building and observe the water flow after 10 seconds.
    • (Water stops): Bulldog fully closes the valve.
    • (Water continues running): Remove the Bulldog from the water shutoff and follow the Bulldog Mounting Instructions card included with the box.
  3. Open your bulldog water valve using the button.
