Product Usage Instructions
Sounder Introduction
The Cartell sounder is designed to be plugged into a standard Type A North American outlet. If the sounder is part of a system, it comes factory-paired to one sensor. If bought as an accessory, the sounder needs to be paired to sensor(s) manually. When the sounder is first plugged in, it automatically enters pairing mode.
Pairing Sounder with Sensor(s)
Pairing Sounder to a Sensor Manufactured Before September 1, 2023
- Remove the sensor lid and take out one battery.
- Plug the sounder into an outlet. If it has not been paired to a sensor, it automatically enters pairing mode.
- To put the sensor in pairing mode, re-install the battery.
- The sounder will automatically pair with the sensor and announce the enrollment.
- Wipe the sensor lid and lip with a clean cloth and screw the lid back to the sensor, ensuring the bosses line up correctly.
Pairing Sounder to a Sensor Manufactured After September 1, 2023
- Power up the sensor by installing both batteries and battery clips.
- Plug the sounder into an outlet. If it has not been paired to a sensor, it automatically enters pairing mode.
- To put the sensor in pairing mode, quickly press and release the red button on the sensor board.
- The sounder will automatically pair with the sensor and announce the enrollment.
- Wipe the sensor lid and lip with a clean cloth and screw the lid back to the sensor, ensuring the bosses line up correctly.
Pairing One Sounder to Multiple Sensors
- While the sounder is on, press the “+” and “-” buttons together to enter menu mode.
- Use the “Menu” button to scroll to the pairing menu and press the “+” button to select pairing.
- The sounder will announce that the pairing menu is selected.
- Put the sensor(s) in pairing mode following the above instructions. They will automatically pair with the sounder and exit pairing mode.
- Scroll to the sound menu and choose a sound for each paired sensor.
Erase All Paired Sensors from Sounder
- In menu mode, scroll to the diagnostics menu.
- Scroll to “Erase all sensors” and follow the prompts.
- Confirm your request by pressing the “+” button.
Sounder & Repeater Modes
The CW-SOU Wireless Sounder has two modes of operation: sounder mode and repeater mode.
In sounder mode, the sounder listens for sensor events. When it receives an event, the sounder will play the specified sound.

SOUNDER INTRODUCTION
The Cartell sounder plugs into a standard Type A North American outlet.
If part of a system, one sounder comes factory-paired to one sensor. If bought
as an accessory, the sounder must be paired to sensor(s). However, when first
plugged in, the sounder will be put in pairing mode by default.
An infinite number of sounders can be paired with up to 30 sensors. A
different sound for each sensor can be set by the user. There are up to 30
sounds available.
PAIRING SOUNDER WITH SENSOR(S)
You can pair an unlimited number of sounders with up to 30 sensors.
NOTE: SOUNDER IS IN AUTOMATIC PAIRING MODE WHEN SHIPPED FROM THE FACTORY. SIMPLY PLUG IT IN. PAIRING SOUNDER TO A SENSOR MANUFACTURED BEFORE SEPTEMBER 1, 2023

- Plug sounder into an outlet. If it has not been paired to a sensor, the sounder automatically enters pairing mode the first time it is plugged in. After other verbiage, it then says, “There are no sensors paired, pairing enabled.”
- To put the sensor in pairing mode, quickly press and release the red button on sensor board.
- Sounder will pair automatically to sensor and say, “Enrollment, Driveway Sensor 1 (or some other #). Sensor is now paired,” and enters normal operation mode.

PAIRING ONE SOUNDER TO MULTIPLE SENSORS
- While sounder is on, press buttons together to enter menu mode.
- Use the butt̶ on to scroll to pairing menu. Press select pairing.
- Sounder will say, “Pairing menu selected. Pair sensor now.” Assign and choose the sensor number you want to pair with. Each sensor has a number.
- Put sensor(s) in pairing mode, per above instructions. They will pair automatically with sounder exit pairing mode.
- Scroll to sound menu and choose sound for that sensor.
ERASE ALL PAIRED SENSORS FROM SOUNDER
- In menu mode, scroll to diagnostics menu. Scroll to “Erase all sensors.”
- Follow the prompts and confirm your request with the button.
SOUNDER & REPEATER MODES
- There are two modes of operation: sounder mode and repeater mode.
- In sounder mode, the sounder listens for sensor events. When it receives an event, the sounder will play the specified sound associated with the sensor. When there are no sensor events, the green LED will blink every five seconds to indicate sounder mode.
- In repeater mode, the sounder does not make sounds when a sensor event is received. Instead, it repeats the event to another sounder or the CW-SYS Integrator. The green LED will blink every 1 second to indicate repeater mode.

This warranty does not cover defects caused by, but not limited to: acts of God, improper installation, abuse, fire damage, electrical surges, integrated system failures,improper lid/gasket/battery installation, over-tightening screws, and stripping screw holes
