Product Usage Instructions
Trip Verification Tests
To perform tripping times verification tests in an electrical installation using Hager RCDs, follow these steps:
- Ensure the RCDs conform to standards EN 610082-1, EN 61009-2-1.
- Apply a current of 5*In to the RCDs.
- Refer to table 41.1 of standard DIN VDE 0100-410 (VDE 0100-410) 2018-10 for the required trip times.
Electrical Connection
The electrical connection for the RCD is 2 pole, with the following sizes for the main and neutral links:
- Main Link Sizes: 16 mm2, 35 mm2
- Neutral Link Sizes: 25 mm2, 50 mm2
Connecting Hager Neutral Link KM03A
If you need to protect two or three circuits with an RCD, you can connect the Hager neutral link KM03A to the outgoing N terminal for convenient splitting of the neutrals.
Important Notes
- Ensure that the maximum demand of the protected circuits does not exceed the current rating per pole of the RCCB.
- If the RCCB trips off after installation, locate and repair faulty appliances. Cumulative leakage from multiple appliances may exceed the RCCB tripping current.
- Check the main neutral and main earth for a good connection.
- If the RCCB trips intermittently and will not reset or the test button does not work, check for low insulation resistance between neutral and earth wiring.
- The RCCB may be fed in any position. LOAD and LINE circuits may be connected top or bottom.
Electrical Connection for P+N or Three Phase
Depending on your electrical setup, follow one of the configurations below:
For the tripping times verification tests, in an electrical installation, Hager certifies that the RCDs, of the Hager brand, conforming to standards EN 61008-2-1, EN 61009-2-1, trip under a current of 5*IΔn in accordance with the times imposed in table 41.1 of standard DIN VDE 0100-410 (VDE 0100-410) 2018-10.
Safety instructions
The installation and mounting of electrical appliances must only be performed by qualified electricians, in compliance with installation standards and by the guidelines, provisions and safety and accident prevention regulations in force in the country concerned.
Please note the following
- The current rating per pole of the RCCB must not be exceeded by the maximum demand of the protected circuits.
- If RCCB trips OFF after installation, locate and repair faulty appliances (cumulative leakage from several appliances may exceed the RCCB tripping current, causing RCCB to trip OFF).
- The “main neutral” and “main earth” should be checked to ensure good connection.
- If RCCB trips intermittently will not reset, or test button will not work, check for low insulation resistance between neutral & earth wiring.
- RCCB may be fed in any position: LOAD and LINE circuits may be connected top or bottom.
