Product Usage Instructions

Lay the Camera on the Camera Bracket
You can hold the camera to capture images at any angle, or place the camera in the Camera Holder to use it as a PC Camera or Document Camera.

Install application software on your PC or laptop

  • Note: INS-3 requires the Documate application or other webinar software to function.
  • Documate provides powerful learning-enhancing features such as zoom, rotate, snapshot annotation, video recording, paper document scans, and text extraction for editing through optical character recognition (OCR). Please download the latest version of Documate for PC, Mac, or Chromebook at www.inswan.com.

  1. Mount the camera to the bracket.
  2. Lay the USB cable in the groove provided.

Using Documate

Start Documate on your PC or laptop and choose the desired operation mode as follows

  • Live mode (default )

    • Shows the live image captured by the INS-3 and provides various functions to enhance your presentation.
    • Recording video and image capture Click ( ) to take snapshots or ( ) to record video clips for future use.
  • Playback mode

    • Review and/or edit snapshot and video clips taken by INS-3 or other devices.
  • Drawing mode

Scan mode
Scan documents or images as PDF, PNG, JPG or TIFF, or use OCR (optical character recognition) to extract text for editing.

Adjusting INS-3 position
Hold the INS-3 to capture images at any angle, or place it on a desk to capture images of objects and documents placed below it. Change the height and /or positioning of the multi-joint camera bracket to capture the desired image.

Forcing the arm against the hinge direction may break the arm.

Adjusting focus

  • Set the focus mode to AF-C (AutoFocus Continuous) to film moving objects or AF-S (AutoFocus Single) for static objects.
  • Pressing the Auto Focus button will automatically adjust to optimal focus one time.
  • You can also trigger the autofocus function via the Documate application.

Adjust brightness
Use the Brightness button to increase or decrease brightness.

Change image orientation
If your image appears upside-down, press and hold the AF buttons for 2 seconds to flip the image orientation. You can also flip or rotate the screen image in the Documate application.

Turn on the LED lamp to improve image quality in dark environments.
