Using the Voice Amplifier

  1. Attach the voice amplifier to your waist using either the belt clip or the waist band.
  2. It is recommended that you wear the microphone headset as shown in the diagram.
  3. For best performance adjust the microphone tip so that the two holes inside the sponge aim at your mouth and the tip is 1 to 1.5 inches (2-3cm) from your mouth. An easy way to tell the correct position is to make sure the white line on the microphone tip is facing your mouth. The microphone is directional so placement is very import for controlling feedback.
  4. Insert the plug of the microphone into the port labeled “microphone” on the voice amplifier.
  5. Turn the volume dial to turn on the voice amplifier and to adjust the volume. The RED LED light will turn on when the voice amplifier is on.
  6. Adjust the volume level to the desired loudness. You can reduce feedback or screeching by reducing the volume or moving the speaker further from the microphone.

Note
For the best sound performance and clarity please use the microphone that has been provided with this voice amplifier.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does the voice amplifier produce feedback or screeching and how do I reduce it?

You can reduce feedback or screeching by reducing the volume or moving the speaker further from the microphone. Make sure the white line on the microphone tip is facing your mouth.

How long does the battery take to charge?

The typical battery charge time is 4-6 hours.

My voice amplifier will not work or produce sound?

Check that your microphone is plugged into the correct port, your battery is charged, and the voice amplifier is turned on to an audible volume.

Can you tell me please if the microphone input port will accept input from another microphone, or only the headset that comes with the product?

This amp has two different input ports. One is for a standard 1/8″ microphone jack and the other is for a 1/8″ “line” (from a mpeg player of some sort). I purchased both an over-the-head mic and a clip-on lavalier mic. Both work just fine in the amp.

What is the voltage output of the charger? I mixed up the charger with a bunch of others, and now I don’t know which one is the correct one.

all i know is i bought it and it sucked…it worked badly for a short time and then in a couple of months just died. so i will never buy anything on amazon again

Would this be suitable for singing (not professionally) while playing the keyboard?

I have been involved with sound systems for stage work and I have used the VoiceBooster to the extent that I can share this opinion. If you are talking about “belting” a song at the top of your lungs, then you might get some feedback issues. If your talking about sitting at the piano and singing softly to moderate.

I purchased this product from amazon .Used it twice It will not take a charge. Can you tell me were I can see about getting the batteries replaced.

TK is a great seller. I would just contact him, and he will most likely very accommodating. It sounds like you’ve had this a very short time if you’ve only used it twice. If I remember correctly everything is covered for at least 6 months. Another tip, I would recommend the MR 2800 model for upgrade. The quality of the MR2200 is ok.

Has anyone tried different VB models to determine which has the best quality sound? I’m not as concerned about distance as fidelity.

I currently am using the 16 and wish I had stayed with the 12. I get so much squealing feedback after I charge it. I never had that problem with the 12v and I’ve used these for several years.

Can a voice recorder be attached to this device?

Probably, for playback. There is an input jack (3.5mm) for external devices

Does it accept aux in?

No

Will a usb 3.0 or 3.1 flash drive work? or does it need to be an older 2.0 drive?

USB port and controls for playing Mp3 music. Can also be used as a speaker for external Mp3 players. The amp has a microphone input. The amp will accept signals from the input port and USB port and play out through the speaker at the same time. FM Radio with automatic tuning.

I would like to use this to teach group fitness classes. Would it be appropriate for that?

I would think it would be. I use it to teach horseback riders in a large arena so an indoor fitness class should be no problem.

can i use this in a vehicle?

I do not see a reason why it would not work in a vehicle… It isn’t exceptionally loud though, your amplification is coming from your waist so if the vehicle is exceptionally noisy it might not be very effective.

I need an honest answer please, does it produce a megaphone-like sound? or is the sound clean enough for teaching purposes?

The sound is amazingly clear. Just LOUDER than normal. Not at all like a megaphone. I bought this exact model because it’s what the tour guides use at the Smithsonian Air & Space Museum. I strongly recommend this product.

I’ve read a lot of reviews about the belt clip breaking. Has this problem been resolved with a metal clip? Having a belt clip is essential for me.

I don’t believe they have a metal clip, but they will replace the existing clip for free. I have always just used the strap that comes with it and worn it around my waist like a fanny pack.
