FIRST INFLATION
First-time Use of Inflatable Bed
Material Expansion and Contraction: Inflatable beds are typically made of
flexible plastic or rubber materials, These materials may undergo initial
expansion or bending, causing the bed to feel softer.
This is because the material requires some time to adapt to the new shape and
pressure, in order to achieve a stable state. Therefore, please add a small
amount of air to ensure the desired level of firmness.
CAUSES OF AIR LEAKAGE AND SOLUTIONS
Air leaks caused by the sealing valve at the air valve:
Check the Valve Seal:
a. Carefully inspect the valve for any visible damage or debris that may
hinder proper sealing. If any debris is found, gently remove it using a soft
cloth or a small brush.
b. Examine the silicone umbrella seal inside the valve, gently pulling it
toward the inflation direction to ensure it is in the fully closed position.
Tighten or Adjust the Valve:
Sometimes, improper tightening of the valve can result in leaks. Make sure the
valve is tightly closed and securely threaded onto the mattress. If the valve
is adjustable, ensure it’s in the fully closed position.
If these steps do not resolve the issue, you may need to consider replacing
the valve or seek professional advice from the manufacturer.
TO CHECK AND REPAIR AN INFLATABLE MATTRESS FOR AIR LEAKS, FOLLOW THESE
STEPS:
-
Locate the Leak:
~ Inflatable mattresses typically reveal air leaks after inflation. You can gently run your hand over the mattress surface and listen for the sound of escaping air or feel the air rushing out to find the leak.
– If it’s difficult to find the leak, you can use a soapy water solution. Mix a few drops of dish soap in a cup of water and apply it to the mattress surface with a brush or sponge. When bubbles emerge at the leak site, you’ll identify the leak. -
Mark the Leak:
Once you’ve found the leak, mark it using a marker or adhesive tape to make it easier to locate during the repair. -
Ensure the Mattress is Dry:
Before proceeding with the repair, ensure that the mattress surface is completely dry so that the repair materials can adhere properly. -
Repair Methods:
There are several methods for repairing an air leak in an inflatable mattress:
a. Use a Repair Kit: Our inflatable mattresses come with a repair kit that includes patches and adhesive. Clean the leak area, apply the adhesive, and then stick the patch onto the leak, ensuring it adheres completely.
b. Use Self-Adhesive Patches: Self-adhesive patches can be purchased separately. After the surface has dried, simply peel off the backing and stick the patch over the leak.
c. Use Glue and Fabric: If you don’t have a repair kit, you can use strong adhesive and a sturdy piece of fabric to patch the leak. Apply the adhesive around the leak and place the fabric over it. Ensure the fabric is tightly adhered and allow it to dry thoroughly. -
Pressure Test:
After completing the repair, wait for an adequate amount of time to ensure that the patch or repaired area has dried properly. Then, reinflate the mattress and perform a pressure test to confirm there are no new leaks. If new leaks are found, repeat the steps above.
Please note that repairing an inflatable mattress is only suitable for small leaks. If your mattress has multiple or large leaks or if it continues to leak even after multiple repairs, you may need to consider replacing the mattress or seeking after-sales service from sellers.
