I. Operating Principle of Trail Camera

  • The operating principle of the trail camera is to trigger the infrared
sensor t o capture images based on changes in the ambient
temperature when animals are moving. It detects the animals by
sensing changes in infrared light, but can only capture the images
when animals are within the infrared monitoring range of the trail
    camera.

  • When an animal enters the monitoring range, the trail camera will
be activated through an infrared sensor to capture images and save
the file. When there is no animal within the monitoring range, the
trail camera is in a dormant standby state. However, when the animal
enters the monitoring range again, the camera will start shooting
    again.

voltage of 1.2V can affect the standby or battery life of the trail
camera during use.

Note: Do not use rechargeable batteries, as a low voltage (1.2V) of
the rechargeable battery can affect the camera’s battery life.
Under low voltage, the camera can capture normally during the
day, but it is no t possible t o turn on the fill illumination f or
shooting due to high power consumption. It can take photos, but
the message “LOW POWER NO IR” will appear in the bottom left
corner of the image. When the camera is not in use for a long time,
please remove the b atter y t o pr event liquid leakage from
damaging the camera or battery power loss.

• When the camera is check ed in TES T mode, the ambient light
source is unstable because you hold the camera by hand while
moving. The motion sensor will be triggered to work, and you may
hear a clicking sound accompanied by the screen flashing, which is
normal.
• It is recommended to use high-performance alkaline batteries to
extend the camera’s usage time.
It is not recommended to use 1.2V rechargeable batteries because
the working voltage of the trail camera requires 1.5V. If the battery
voltage is low , it will not function properly. After running out of
battery, there will only be a few hours of operation ( under l ow
battery, which will be displayed by the camera).
• When the trail camera is used for the first time or the camera cannot
recognize memory, please format the memory card before use.
Before installing the battery, please confirm whether the battery

LCD, camera lens, infrared sensor, and LED glasses with any sharp
objects.
When it is at low battery level, please replace all batteries in a timely
manner to avoid damaging the camera due to electrolyte leakage.

X. FAQs

Q(1) In POWER-ON mode, the camera screen will turn off after 5S.
Will it not turn on afterwards?
A: After setting up, please turn the switch to the ON position. After 5S,
the camera screen will turn off, indicating that it has entered the
working state. It will record according to your settings.

Q(2) Off-road cameras are very useful during the day, but cannot
capture anything at night?
A: It is recommended to replace with a new high-quality battery. Do
not use rechargeable batteries. When the battery level is low, the
battery voltage output is insufficient f or night shot. The better the
battery quality is, the more stable the battery voltage at night will be.
When the battery level is low, the camera will not take photos or
record videos under black screen in the photo and record mode.

Q(3) When I walk up to the camera, the red light flashes, but the
camera does not record anything?
A: For automatic detection and recording, you should switch it to ON
mode. If the red light flashes when motion is detected, it indicates
that the camera is still in TEST mode.
When the battery level is low, the camera will not take photos or
record videos under black screen in the photo and record mode.

Q(4) What if I forget my camera password?
A: When the camera is turned off, press and hold the MENU+REPLAY
buttons while adjusting the MODE button to SETUP mode. A t this
time, the camera will be unlocked.

Q(5) What should I do if there is glare in the photo?
A: If the camera is pointing towards the sun, it may cause some glare.
Please remember the angle and position of the sun during installing
to ensure that you can obtain the best image during the day.

Q(6) The camera continuously captures images without a
theme/the number of triggers increases?
A: If the PIR sensor believes that there is motion and heat in front of
the camera lens, but there is no subject in the image, the camera will
experience a so-called “false triggering”, which is caused by placing
the camera in an environment with branches moving in front of the
camera or in areas with high he at in the foreground. Any motion
caused by wind c an trigger the camera. In addition, placing the
camera on the water surface is also a potential cause of this problem.
To remedy this situation, A. tr y moving the camera to a location
without these problems, or try changing the “PIR sensitivity” in the
menu settings.
B. If the camera continues to capture images without the subject, try
placing the camera in an indoor environment and aiming a t a
position without motion.
C. If the camera still has this problem, it may be due t o electronic
components. In this case, please contact Punvoe customer service.
D. Please check and confirm whether you have turned on
“Time-lapse Photography”, and then turn it off.

Q(7) Battery life is shorter than expected?
A: Setting parameters such as camera series, video length, PR
interval, and PIR sensitivity can affect the efficiency and battery life.

In short, high trigger frequencies can reduce battery life.
B: Punvoe recommends using the Ener aizer1.5V AA batteries in
off-road cameras to achieve the longest battery life.

Q(8) How to determine whether the camera’s motion sensor is
working properly?
A: Please follow the instructions in the QUICKSTART GUIDE chapter
to set up. After configuration, turn the power sw itch to the TEST
mode. After about 15S, please walk to the front of the camera. If the
blue or green light flashes, it indicates that the camera’s infrared
motion sensor is working properly. In addition, this method can also
help you adjust the camera direction and angle, and determine
whether the current position is within the monitoring range of the
camera.

Q(9) Why is my camera working normally in TEST mode, but
unable to take photos in POWER-ON mode?
A: These cameras are excellent at detecting targets in the horizontal
range, but for targets in the vertical range, you need t o adjust the
height and sensitivity. If the height is determined, you should orient
the camera sensor and lens towards the target to ensure that the
camera accurately captures the motion within the expected range.

Q(10) Why is there air in the 4K? Is it a leak?
A: Because there is a space inside the camera, when the temperature
changes, the air inside may be liquefied, resulting in water mist.
When the temperature returns to normal, the water mist will disappear.

Q(11) The camera does not take photos?
A: Low sensitivity. Please set sensitivity to medium or high
B: Do no t turn off “Time -lapse Photography”. Please turn off
“Time-lapse Photography”
C: The animal does no t enter the valid range. Please adjust the

camera direction and angle
D: The battery level is too low. Please replace it with a new high-quality
battery
E: Please remove one layer of protective film from the lens and the sensor

Q(12)The camera cannot take photos properly?
A: Please check whether the PIR protective film is removed
B: Please check the installation position of the camera, Whether the
camera is installed within an effective range.

Q(13)The camera cannot be turned on normally?
A: Please check whether the battery is installed upside down and
replace it with a new one

Q(14)There are no images in the memory card?
A: Replace memory card, format the memory card first and check
whether the memory card can record properly.

Q(15)The camera does not take photos or record at night?
A: Please replace new batteries.
