RH01796 Redheads Reality Series Remote Strut Stake

The Original Redheads Remote Strut Stake revolutionized hunting with a Strutting Gobbler or Jake Decoy, and now the new Remote Strut Stake Gen-2 allows this technology to be applied to almost ANY Strutting Jake or Gobbler Decoy, including the Avian-X® Stutter and Dave Smith Decoys® Stutter. The key to the effectiveness of the Remote Strut Stake Gen-2 is the simple, Remote Controlled Motorized System which automatically transforms the decoy into an active “Stutter” with the push of a button. Simply  push the power button on the remote and the decoy struts at the perfect speed clockwise, then automatically stops and turns counter-clockwise, to perfectly imitate the motion of a real strutting gobbler displaying for hens. The Remote Strut Stake adds a new element of realism to your setup, and is effective in open fields or in the woods.
Your Remote Strut Stake Gen-2 should include the following items:
A. Handheld Remote
B. Motor Housing
C. 2-Prong ground stake
D. Long stake
E. Carry bag

F. Decoy stopper

*You will also need 4-AA Alkaline Batteries (not included)

Instructions for Initial Assemble

Assembly for Setup on Hollow-Body Decoys with a Top Stake Hole or Grommet

1. Slide the battery cover door up on the motor housing and install 4 new “AA” batteries into the battery tray, paying particular attention to the polarity directions on the battery tray. Replace the battery tray into the motor housing and slide the battery cover door closed.
2. Insert the Long Stake into threaded hole on the bottom of the Motor Housing and thread it clockwise until tight. Do not over-tighten the Long Stake into the Motor Housing.
3. Thread the 2-Prong Ground Stake onto the Long Stake and turn clockwise until tight.
4. Locate the spot where you want to set up your decoy, and insert the 2-Prong Ground Stake into the ground by applying pressure with your hand or foot to the top horizontal section of the 2- Prong Ground Stake. Push the 2-Prong Ground Stake into the ground until the horizontal top section makes contact with the ground.
5. Remove the Wing Nut from the top of the Motor Shaft. Leave the washer in place at the bottom of the threaded portion of the Motor Shaft, and set your strutting gobbler decoy in place over the Motor Shaft so that the threaded portion of the Motor Shaft protrudes through the grommet or hole in the decoy’s back. Place the Wing Nut back onto the threaded portion of the Motor Shaft and tighten it in place so that the strutting gobbler decoy is anchored to the Motor Shaft.
6. Use the toggle switch at the bottom of the Motor Housing to put the motor into “ON” position. Before you walk away, push the red button on your handheld remote control to make sure the motor is in “ON” mode and your decoy is operating. Once you have determined that your decoy is ready and operating, you can push the red button on your handheld remote control to turn the decoy back off until you are ready to activate it again.
7. Take your position for the hunt and get ready for action.

Assembly for Setup on Full-Body Decoys with Internal Stake Cone

1. Slide the battery cover door up on the motor housing and install 4 new “AA” batteries into the battery tray, paying particular attention to the polarity directions on the battery tray. Replace the battery tray into the motor housing and slide the battery cover door closed.

2. Insert the Long Stake into threaded hole on the bottom of the Motor Housing, making sure the small “Spur” on the Long Stake is pointing downward, and thread the Long Stake into the Motor Housing clockwise until tight. Do not over-tighten the Long Stake into the Motor Housing.

3. Slide the Rubber Decoy Stopper onto the Long Stake, and push the Rubber Decoy Stopper all the way up until it makes contact with the “spur” on the Long Stake. (*Note, the largest diameter of the Rubber Decoy Stopper should be the end that makes contact with the “spur” cn the stake.)

4. Thread the 2-Prong Ground Stake onto the short Motor Shaft on the top of the Motor Housing. Turn the 2-Prong Ground Stake Clockwise until it is completely threaded onto the Motor Shaft.
   (*Note, you can leave the washer and wing nut installed completely onto the Motor Shaft, or you can remove them before threading on the 2-Prong Ground Stake. We recommend leaving them in place so they do not get lost.)

5. Locate the spot where you want to set up your decoy, and insert the 2-Prong Ground Stake into the ground by applying pressure with your hand or foot to the top horizontal section of the 2- Prong Ground Stake. Push the 2-Prong Ground Stake into the ground until the horizontal top section makes contact with the ground.

6. Set your strutting gobbler decoy in place over the Long Stake so that the Rubber Decoy Stopper inserts into the stake cone.

7. Use the toggle switch at the top of the Motor Housing to put the motor into “ON” position. Before you walk away, push the red button on your handheld remote control to make sure the motor is in “ON” mode and your decoy is operating. Once you have  determined that your decoy is ready and operating, you can push the red button on your handheld remote control to turn the decoy back off until you are ready to activate it again.

8. Take your position for the hunt and get ready for action.

Tips for Use

• The Remote Strut Stake Gen-2 will allow you to easily control the movement your decoy is displaying. If you simply push the red button on the handheld remote and let the decoy run, it will strut slowly clockwise, then stop and strut back counterclockwise. The range of motion is approximately 200 degrees. You can push the red button on the handheld remote at any time to start or stop the decoy.
• Set your decoy up so that it is in a position where you can get a clean, effective shot. An approaching gobbler will go directly to the strutting decoy almost 100% of the time.
• Use your Strutting Gobbler decoy in conjunction with one or two hen decoys for realism, and to create a scenario where your gobbler decoy has moved in on the resident gobblers’ territory.
