D. Operation

  1. Preparation before measuring:
Insert the battery properly into the battery door. insert the connecting wire into the socket on the top of the main unit.

  2. Power on/off and backlight
Press the Power/LED key to turn on the unit with the backlight on, and the full screen display for 2 seconds to enter into wind speed mode, the readings of temperature and wind speed shows on the LCD, short press on it will turn on the backlight or turn it off, and it will turn off automatically if there is no operation on the key within 1 minute. Long press on the Power/LED key turns off the unit manually.

  3. Set up the units of wind speed and wind volume
After power on, press the Unit key to select wind speed unit among m/s, Km/h, Ft/min, Knots and mph in order.

  4. Data hold
In measuring, press Hold key to hold the reading measured, and press the Hold key again to return to the measuring mode.

  5. Switch between the interfaces of temperature and area setup
Short press on SET ·crF key is to switch between Celsius degree and Fahrenheit degree, while long press on the key to enter into area setup mode.

  6. Switch between wind speed and wind volume
Press VEL FLOW key to switch between the wind speed and wind volume mode and their respective units change correspondently between M/S and CMM.

  7. Switching among readings max/min/average/2 third of max wind volume
Press the MAX MIN AVG 2/3MAX key to switch the readings among readings max/min/average/2 third of max wind volume.

  8. Steps to set up the area

  9. Long press on the SET ·crF key to enter into the area setup mode. The area unit flashes, then short press on HOLD key to select area unit.

  10. Short press on SET ·crF key to select the first digit with the first digit flashing, and short press on the HOLD key to increase the number and the number returns to zero if the input is over 9. After the desired value is selected short press on SET ·crF key to confirm and repeat the above steps to set up the second, the third and the forth digits.

  11. Short press on MAX MIN AVG 2/3MAX key is to select the decimal point position.

  12. Long press the SET ·crF key to exit the area setup mode.

  13. In wind volume measuring, the area set appears and the temperature reading appears in wind speed measuring.

  14. Switch among max/min/average/2 third of max wind volume
After powering on, and blade rotates with the default value at current wind speed, short press on the MAX MIN AVG 2/3MAX key to select among max/min/average/2 third of max wind volume.

  15. Sampling for average wind speed
Take the average value after sampling 21 times at an interval of 0.3 seconds.

  16. Wind chill alert
In measuring, when the temperature is under O °C the wind chill icon appears on LCD.

  17. Retractable drag rod
The rod can be dragged longer as much as 553mm for long distance measuring.

  18. Wind speed dynamic indicating bar
This bar varies with the wind speed in normal measuring but does not vary in case the wind speed is above Beaufort scale 10.
