nVent BOX-NS22N 1-Gang New Work Electrical Switch

Product Information

The product is a type A electrical box designed for installation in walls. It is available in different sizes: BOX-NS18N, BOX-NS20N, BOX-NS22N, BOXNSH22N, BOX-ND32N, and BOX-NDH35N. The box is intended to be mounted on a stud and provides a secure enclosure for electrical connections.

Product Usage Instructions

To install the electrical box, follow these steps:

  1. Place a mark on the stud at the desired height for the center of the box.
  2. Measure and mark the stud 1-7/8″ above and below the mark made in step #1.
  3. Place the box against the stud, ensuring it is centered between the marks made in step #2.
  4. Align the appropriate depth mark on the side of the box with the front edge of the stud.
  5. Securely attach the box to the stud using appropriate fasteners (not included). Ensure that the box is securely mounted to provide a stable and safe electrical connection. Consult a qualified electrician if you have any doubts or questions regarding the installation process

Installation instructions

for BOX-NS18N, BOX-NS20N, BOX-NS22N, BOXNSH22N, BOX-ND32N & BOX-NDH35N

  1. Place a mark on the stud at the height desired for the center of the box
  2. Measure and mark the stud 1-7/8” above and below the mark made in step #1
  3. Place the box against the stud centered between the marks made in step #2
  4. Align the appropriate depth mark on the side of the box with the front edge of the stud (The face of the box to be located as close as possible to the wall face but must be no more than 7/8” from the front edge of the stud. Use appropriate box extender with longer outlet/switch mounting screws to meet NEC code 314.20 if required)
  5. While holding the box securely in position hammer the nails into the stud until they are flush with the nail guides on the box
  6. Strip NM cable jacket to the desired length (NEC 300.14 requires “at least 6 in. of free conductor, measured from the point in the box where it emerges from its raceway or cable sheath”)
  7. Feed wires through a cable entry from the rear box face
  8. Continue feeding wires in until the NM cable jacket is past the NM cable clamp (NEC 314.17 (2) requires “not less than ¼ in. inside of box and past any cable clamp”)
  9. Bend NM cable 90 degrees at the point of entry under the cable clamp
  10. Pull on the cable from the outside of box to ensure that the cable clamp engages properly
  11. Install the intended electrical device(s) into box per NEC code
  12. Install faceplate per manufacturer recommendation
