Is this scale good for bakers?
I purchased this food scale to baking for my kids , they like to help me to scale these ingredients ,the tare function and the ability to switch units of measure is great for me because you don’t have to dirty up many measuring cups.
Does this scale come with a rechargeable battery, if so what type?
There is an internal battery that is charged via USB. It can also use 2 AAA batteries. I have never used AAA batteries. I charge with USB & it holds the charge for months. I probably use the scale a couple of times a week.
Does it remember the last units you used, so you do not need to cycle through the units each time? If not, what is the default unit?
It stays on the last unit set, which I love because I measure a lot of liquids.
If 1 gram goes on the scale does it register the 1 gram? I bet they sent a free sample to nasa so marketing can use the nonsense “nasa grade” line
I haven’t done 1g but I have done 2g and it registered it.
Is it water proof?
I haven’t submerged it in water but have spilled liquids on it and it works fine.
How do zero out the tare weight I already set?
When you turn it off and turn back on again, place another item on it, hit the Tare, and it should reset to the item you have placed on the scale.
The balance was fully charged and had batteries too, yet the numbers keep changing. even after hitting tare button. is it damaged?
I can only say that my scale numbers stay steady. I think yours may be defective.
How can it measure fluid ounces and milliliters? Is it for water only?
It weighs dry as well as wet. This is done primarily by putting an empty container on the scale and getting its Tare weight. Zero the scale with the container, add your liquid or dry and there you have the weight.
Can liquids get between the glass and stainless steel top? If so, can it be removed?
I have not had any issues with liquids getting in between the glass and stainless steel. I do not believe they come apart. I have been happy with the scale.
Is it normal that the numbers start changing without anything on it? I just tried it for a few days and seems way to sensitive.
The numbers on the scale should not be changing without anything on it.
What exactly makes this “nasa grade”?
I don’t know but it’s of excellent quality. Heavy duty.
What kind of battery does it use? Is it a regular one?
2*AAA batteries, the kitchen scale come with two spare batteries.
Is it possible to calibrate this scale?
Customer service could help you with that…. I didn’t have an issue. I checked it out with another scale and it was spot on!
How scratch resistant is the stainless steel surface? I’m concerned that it will start to show wear after moving bowls on and off repeatedly
The quality seems pretty nice, I purchased it for the stainless steel, easy clean and durable.
