Step 1
Utilizing a spare M8 from your Toyota bolt bin (typically these have a 12mm head), find the threaded hole in the frame in picture #2. Us this hole as an installation guide so that it will place the compressor the correct distance from the alternator and air bag sensor. It should be oriented so you see the holes sticking out the bottom of the frame from the wheel well.

Step 2
Loosen the clamp around the compressor body, mount the bracket and situate it as shown:

Step 3
Bolt that bad B in there. You will notice there is a hole for the water guard. If you want to it to still fit, you will need to use a 9/32” drill and using the hole as a guide, drill through the frame rail. You can now use the appropriate length plastic guard fastener to secure the flap.

Intake Relocation for Water C ros s ings

For 4Runners with the EVAP canister in the engine bay (1997-2000?), you can easily “T” into the intake like that runs to your air box. Use a 3/8” T fitting and a 1/4” NPT to 3/8” Barb Fitting with a cut length of 3/8” hose between both (see below). Later 4runners you can use the same 1/4” NPT to 3/8” Barb Fitting and a 3/8” barbed bulkhead fitting, drilled into the airbox after your filter but before your MAF sensor. You should be safe to submerge the pump per manufacture spec. Also makes it a lot quieter.
