OVERVIEW
This user manual describes how to use the SENSeOR Datamatrix to XML to generate XML files from the Datamatrix located of the top of the TSA-EV11 temperature sensors.
This manual provides user guidelines for version 1.0.0.
The XML files generated by the application will then be used for the ‘SENSeOR
Configuration Tool’ applications.
SOFTWARE INSTALLATION
OPERATING SYSTEM
The SENSeOR Datamatrix to XML operates only on Microsoft Windows operating
system, with at least Windows 10.
SOFTWARE INSTALLATION
To install SENSeOR Datamatrix to XML, extract the ‘Datamatrix to XML
vX.X.X.zip’ zipped files. It contains two files: ‘SENSeOR.cer’ and ‘Datamatrix
to XML vX.X.X.appxbundle’.
NOTE
THE LAST REVISION OF THE SOFTWARE IS AVAILABLE ON THE SENSEOR WEBSITE.
‘SENSEOR’ CERTIFICATE INSTALLATION
Right click on the ‘SENSeOR.cer’ file and select ‘Install Certificate’ menu.
Click on the ‘Open’ button to allow the ‘Security Warning’.
The ‘Certificate Import Wizard’ opens.
Select ‘Local Machine’ as Store Location and click on ‘Next’ button.
MONITORING SOLUTION ENERGY
MONITORING SOLUTION ENERGY
Validate ‘Administrator mode approval’ window and select ‘Place all
certificates in the following store’.
Click on ‘Browse’ button, select ‘Trusted Root Certification Authorities’ and
click on ‘OK’ button.
Click on ‘Next’ button and then ‘Finish’ button to import certificate.
Click on ‘OK’ to confirm the ‘SENSeOR certificate’ installation.
NOTE
ADMINISTRATOR RIGHTS ARE REQUIRED TO INSTALL APPLICATION.
APPLICATION INSTALLATION
Double click on ‘Datamatrix to XML vX.X.X.appxbundle’ file to launch ‘App installer’.
Click on ‘Install’ button to start installation.
NOTE
AT EACH LAUNCH, THE APPLICATION WILL AUTOMATICALLY CHECK FOR UPDATES.
APPLICATION LAUNCH
The SENSeOR Datamatrix to XML installation creates a shortcut with the same name in the Windows menu. Click on it to launch the program.
SOFTWARE STARTUP
At start-up, the application sets the default ‘Output directory’ path to
‘Current user\Documents\SENSeOR\Sensor data’.
As its name suggests, this directory will host all the sensor XML files
created.
To select another output directory, click on the ‘Browse’ button.
SENSOR XML FILES GENERATION
GENERATING XML FILES FROM AN INPUT TEXT FILE
CREATING THE INPUT TEXT FILE
To automatically generate several XML files, simply import a text file
containing the data to be converted.
To create this input file, you can use the Windows ‘Notepad’ application (or
any other text editor) and save it as a text file. Its name, encoding format
and saving directory do not matter.
Each line of the file represents a sensor.
To add new data to it, you can use free mobile apps such as ‘CortexScan’ or
‘QRbot’ (available from ‘App Store’ and ‘Google Play’), scan the sensor’s
radome Datamatrix (of the top of sensor) and paste string data.
Here is an example of a text file created called ‘Sensors’ and containing 20
sensors.
NOTE
THERE IS NO LIMITATION ON THE NUMBER OF SENSORS TO CONVERT.
IMPORT OF THE CREATED TEXT FILE
Click on the ‘Open file’ button and browse the created text file.
Click on ‘Open’. The application will load the content of the file into the
‘Data to convert’ text box and the text file path in the ‘Input file path’
text box.
Once data conversion is done, a message indicates how many XML files have been
generated.
By clicking on the ‘OK’ button, the application is ready to start a new
conversion.
By clicking on the ‘Open output directory’ button, the previous ‘Data to
convert’ content is cleared and the application launches Windows explorer to
view created files.
GENERATING XML FILES FROM LIVE DATA
The other way to generate the sensor XML files is to directly paste the radome
Datamatrix (located of the top of the sensor) data into the ‘Data to convert’
text box.
To do this, you can use a Datamatrix-compatible USB scanner like this one.
To add new data, click on the ‘Data to convert’ text box and scan as many Datamatrix as needed. Line wrap is automatic after each scan.
When all the sensors are scanned, click on the ‘Convert’ button to start conversion.
Once data conversion is done, a message indicates how many XML files have been generated.
By clicking on the ‘OK’ button, the application is ready to start a new
conversion.
By clicking on the ‘Open output directory’ button, the previous ‘Data to
convert’ content is cleared and the application launches Windows explorer to
view created files.
TROUBLESHOOTING
UNABLE TO INSTALL APPLICATION
If the following window appears, it means that the ‘SENSeOR certificate’ is
not correctly installed.
To fix it, please refer to chapter ‘SENSeOR’ certificate installation and try again to install ‘Datamatrix to XML’.
UNABLE TO SET THE ‘OUTPUT DIRECTORY’
At application startup, if the following window appears, it means that the
‘Documents library access’ is disabled.
To fix it, enable ‘Documents library access’ from ‘Privacy and security’ Windows settings.
