How to set time

• The product specification changes with calibers NO. Refer to the first double figures of the case NO stamped on the case back for Caliber NO. EX : CASE No.   00-CO First double figures
• The daily accuracy is the advance and delay that watch use at normal room temperature with a full wound mainspring, and left the dial up, when 24 hours passed.
• Due to the characteristics of the mechanical watch, the accuracy of the watch when worn may not meet the specified accuracy, depending the working condition (portable time, position of the watch, the motion of arm, mainspring tension, etc.)
• Product specifications may be changed without prior notice.

How to use the watch

• The position of the crown, the click button and the date indicator may be different, depending on the model.

{automatic winding Mechanism]

1. This Is an automatic winding mechanical watch(manual winding also allowed).

2. This mainspring will be wound by natural wrist motion while wearing it. Depending on the caliber, the spring can be wound by turning a crown. (Please check [Product Specifications]

3. If your watch stops, it made to begin swing or tur the crown. Once the second hand starts moving, adjust the calendar and time.

4. When winding the mainspring, tum the crown clockwise and slowly in normal position. And it will be not to wound up when turn the crown counterclockwise.

[Serew-lock type crown model]
Depend on the model, t will be the screw-lock type crown model.
This type of model, please carry out the following operation.

1. When adjusting the calendar and time, first turn the crown counterclockwise to loosen the. Screw.
2. Alter adjusting the calendar and lock the crown screw into the case, time, tum the crown clockwise while pushing it, and tighten the screw firmly unit stops.

How to adjust the time and calendar

1. *DW-ERNR-PF (With date )
   CAUTION**
   Do not adjust the time between 8:30 PM and 0:30 AM, since the which is changing the date during that period. It may lead to a trouble. If you inevitably do i, turn the crown to clockwise to move the hands away from this time zone.

   1f you set the hands too forward in adjusting the time, first move the hand

   back few minutes before the current time, and then advance the hand slowly to the correct time.

2. Pull out the crown to the first step.

   The crown of this watch can be pull out up 1o the second step.

3. Turn the crown counterclockwise to adjust the date o the last day.

4. Pull the crown 10 the second step.

5. Turn the crown to adjust the time.
   • Turn the crown in the hand advance direction (clockwise) until the today’s date is displayed. It change to display FA .M .J when the date change. And set the hands further forward to adjust to the current time.

6.  Push back the crown to the normal position(0 step)
   o: Adjust the date at the end of month In months with thirty of fewer days, adjust the date on 1st day of the next month.

7. EM (With date and day of week display )
   CAUTION
   Do not adjust the time and day of the week between 10:00 PM and 4:00 AM, since the watch is changing the date during that period. It may lead to a trouble. If you inevitably do it, turn the crown clockwise to move the hands away from this time zone.
   • if you set the hands too forward in adjusting the time, first move the hand back few minutes before the current time, and then advance the hand slowly to the correct time.
   • This watch has 2 types of watch, with a click button or without a click button. Be careful to adjust the day of week display, because these 2 types watch adjust are different.
   • Depending on the model, you may not be able to press the click button with your finger. To adjust the date, press the click button using a sharp object with a thin tip( Ex: precision screwdrivers, tweezers, tooth picks, etc.). For some type of watches, click button is invisible from front side (i.e. the “hidden button” type).

[ Screw-lock type button model ]
Depend on the model, it will be lock the button ring (the ring around the button) into the case, the screw-lock type button model.
This type of model, please carry out the following operation.

1. Before operating the button, first turn the button ring to the counterclockwise to loosen it until stop the screw.
   • If it is not loosened completely, the button may not operate. Also do not force it to turn.

2. After operating the button, turn the button ring to the clockwise to tighten it until stops the button.
   • Do not tighten it excessively.

If the Click button is provided

1. Press the click button located at a position of 2:00 to adjust the day of the week to the last day.
   •  The day of the week display can be two languages. Press the click button to select your desired language.
   •  The languages available differ depending on the model.

2. Pull out the crown to the first step.
   •  The crown of this watch can be pulled out up to the second step.

3. Turn the crown counterclockwise to adjust the date to the fast day.

4. Pull out the crown to the first step.

5. Turn the crown to adjust the time.
   • Turn the crown in the hand advance direction (clockwise) until displayed today’s date. When the date changes, it become to display ‘AM’. Set the hands further forward to adjust to the current time.

6. Push back the crown to the normal position(0 step).
   O: Adjust the date at the end of month
   February and in months with thirty of fewer days, adjust the date on 1st day of the next month.

If the Click button is not provided
•  If the click button is not provided, operate as described below to adjust the day of the week to the last day. Then adjust the time and date as the click button.
•  This watch is provided with a function to display the day of the week in two languages. Select your desired language by operating as described in Step 2 and 3 below.
•  The languages available differ depending on the model. (The following operation example switches from Japanese to English.)

1. Pull out the crown to the second step. Currently the day of week is displayed in Japanese.

2. Turn the crown clockwise direction to advance the hour and minute hands about 2:00 a.m. When this is done, the day of the week is switched to English (THU).
   •  When Japanese display is desired, advance the hour and minute hands to about 4:00 a.m. the day of the week is changed from to

3. Turn the crown counterclockwise, return to the hour and minute hands position at 11:30 p.m.

4. Turn the crown clockwise, return to the hour and minute hands position at 4:00 a.m. When this is done , the day of the week is changed from (THU) to (FRI).

5. Turn the crown counterclockwise, return to the hour and minute hands position at 11:30 p.m.

6. Turn the crown clockwise again, and advance the hour and minute hands to 4:00 a.m. When this is done, the day of the week is changed from (FRI) to (SAT).

7. Repeat Steps 5 and 6 above to adjust the day of the week to the last day.
   O: Adjust the date at the end of month In months with thirty of fewer days, adjust the date on 1st day of the next month.

(3) NQ-PM (With date and day of week
CAUTION
Do not adjust the time between 8 : 30 PM and 4:00 AM, since the watch is changing the date during that period. If you adjust the date during this interval, the date shown may not change on the next day or it may cause a malfunction. To adjust the date during these hours, first turn clockwise the hour hand outside of this period. Then you can adjust the date.

•  If you set the hands too forward in adjusting the time, set them back slightly behind a correct time , and then, set them forward to adjust to the correct time.

1. Pull out the crown to the first stage.
   •  The crown of this watch can be pulled out up to the second step.

2. Turn the crown clockwise to adjust the day of the week to the last day.
   •  This watch is provided with a function to display the day of the week in two languages. Select your desired language.
   •  The languages available differ depending on the model.

3. Turn the crown counterclockwise to adjust the date to the last day.

4. Pull out the crown to the second step.

5. Turn the crown to adjust the time.
   •  Turn the crown in the hand advance direction (clockwise) until today’s date is displayed. It is the ‘ a.m. ‘ when the date is changed. Advance the hands furthermore forward, and adjust the current time.

6. Push back the crown to the normal position(0 step).
   O: Adjust the date at the end of month In months with thirty of fewer days, adjust the date on 1st day of the next month.

How to use the rotating bezel

Some models have a rotating bezel. Check your watch and please use correctly. Turn the rotating bezel and point the triangle mark ( ) points at the minute hand. After some time has elapsed, you can read the amount of elapsed time by looking at the number (point) on the rotating bezel where the minute hand is currently pointing. By pointing the triangle mark ( ) at a target time in the future, you can read the remaining time. The rotating be-26l has a 1-minute interval Latchet-device with the reverse-rotation prevention system. That becomes to prevent an unprepared tum by the. shock, it can easy 1o set the scale, t0o.

The figure above shows that 20 minutes have passed since you started timing at 10 minutes after 10 o’clock.

1. Component Parts
   There are the diver type and the world time type depending on the model. Confirm the type of watch and use. (This figure is the diver type.)

2. Diver Type
   Turn the crown 2 to set the mark to a position of the minute hand. After a certain time elapsed, a position of the rotation ring pointed at the minute hand indicates the elapsed time. You can also find a remaining time by setting the mark to a target time.

3.  World Time Type Turn the crown 2 to set the current time to the city printed on the dial face. This allows you to learn the time of each city. The figure shows that the time in Tokyo is 10:08. Set the number “10” on the rotation ring to TOKYO on the dial face. When this is done, the time of each city is indicated by the number on the rotation ring.

   As example when Tokyo time is 10:08 am, set the TOKYO (TYO) on the rotation ring to the number ’10’ on the dial face. When this done, you can read the time in any city in the world.

Handling precautions

1. Water-proof performance

2. The watch, a water resistant for daily use (3 atm.) is available for face-washing etc, but avoid putting it in the water.

3. The watch, an enhanced water resistant for daily use I (5 atm.) is available for swimming, etc., but do not put it on all diving that include skin diving.

4. The watch, an enhanced water resistant for daily use II (10 or 20 atm.) is available for skin diving , but not for scuba diving using an air cylinder and saturation diving using helium gas.

Confirm an inscription of water-proof level on the dial or the case back of the watch, and use correctly according to the above-mentioned scopes of availability.
CAUTION

4. Make sure the crown is pushed in (normal position) when using the watch. If your watch is the screw-lock type crown, make sure the crown is securely tightened.
5. Do not turn or pull out the crown and the button under the water or in the wet condition. Water may enter inside the watch and degrade water-proof capability.
6. For a non-water resistant for daily use watch, pay attention to temporary splashed waterdrops (water splash at face washing, rain etc,) and sweat. If the watch becomes wet from water or sweat, wipe it off with dry soft cloth.
7. Even if you are wearing a watch that is a water resistant for daily use, do not expose it directly to the powerful flow of water running from a water tap. The water pressure exceeding waterproofing performance can be encountered and may deteriorate water-profess.
8. If your watch is water resistant for daily use, rinse the case with fresh water thoroughly when it is dipped in seawater. Then wipe the watch carefully, to prevent rust.
9. If the leather band is dipped in the water, it may lose its durability and be discolored or unglued. When using the watch in the water, replace the band with other material (metal or rubber) in advance.
10. There is slightly humidity inside the watch. If outer temperature is lower that inside the watch, the glass surface may become cloudy. If the cloudy of moisture is only temporary, the internal mechanism will not be damaged. However, if it remains cloudy for a long time, or if there is moisture inside the watch, consult your purchase shop or the Customer Service.

2. Shock

3. This watch is not influenced by light sports such as golf. When you are engaged in more vigorous sports, you should take the watch off.

4. Do not drop the watch on the floor or hit it against hard surfaces.

5. Magnetic field

6. The watch is not influenced by the electromagnetic fields produced by home electric appliances.
   CAUTION

7. Keep the watch away from the magnets, magnetic health aids (gadgets for relieving stiff shoulders, bracelets, etc,) , electric mah-jongg tables, etc, which produce the strong magnetism.

8. If “ANTIMAG. I ” or “ANTIMAG. II” is inscribed on the watch, it means that your watch has been made further resistant to the magnetism. Refer to the following for the strength of the display and the magnetic field which can be borne.
   • ANTIMAG. I …… It can withstand a magnetic field up to 4.800A/m(60 gauss)
   • ANTIMAG. II…….It can withstand a magnetic field up to16,000A/m(2000 gauss)

9. If the watch is left in a strong magnetic field for along time, its part will become magnetized and result in a malfunction.

10. The watch that is damaged by strong magnetic fields may gain or lose time for a while. However if it is moved away from the magnetic field it will regain its original accuracy. In this case, correct the time.

• The intensity of magnetic field may vary with each magnetic product or electrical appliance.
•  Strength of a magnetic field is in inverse proportion to the square of distance. Therefore, the intensity may significantly differ from moving objects a short distance apart.

4. Vibration
   Do not bang the watch. It may cause the time to change.
   (Note: In some cases, check, adjustment and repair may be necessary.)

5. Temperature
   If the watch is used outside the normal temperature range ( 5°C to 35°C), it may keep time badly, or stop.

6. Chemicals, gasses, etc. In the case, please note it may be discolored, transformed or damaged that if the watch comes into contact with gases, mercury, or chemicals (thinners, gasoline, various solvents, or cleaners, adhesives, paints, medicines, perfumes, or cosmetics containing any of those substances), the case, band, dial and the resin parts.

10. Use at high temperature
    CAUTION
    Do not use the watch at high temperatures, such as in a sauna. If may be burned when the watch heats up.

Luminous light

Some of our products uses Luminous light paint on the hands and dial.
The Luminous light paint is safe paint which stores light without using any radioactive material. It stores light from sunlight and artificial light and emits that light in a dark setting. As the paint discolor the stored light, its will become dimmer over time. The amount of light emitted and the time that light will be emitted depend on various factors when the light is stored, such as the shape of the glass, the thickness of the paint, surrounding brightness level, the distance from the watch to the light source, and the light absorption level. Please note when is not store enough light energy, the watch may emit weak light or emit light on for only a short time.

Water-proof processing band

Some watch uses the nylon band or the leather band which carried out special processing which is hard to absorb even if it touches sweat and water. Since an effect deteriorates according to usable years and an operating condition, please understand the water resistance of this band.

Silver items

Some of our products have a silver or silver-plated case and band. Due to the properties of silver, oxides and sulfides(prevalent in the air and around the body in the form of waste substances sloughed off by the body) will react with the silver become discolor the surface to black. If this is the case, wipe the surfaces with the cloth for silverware. The original coloring will then be restored.

For extended use

CAUTION

1. Maintenance of the case and band

2. Dirt and moisture on the case and band may interfere with the watch functions, cause skin rashes to person with susceptible skin, or soil the cuffs of clothing. Use a soft cloth to wipe off dirt and moisture and keep the watch clean. Especially the band makes direct contact with the skin, remove dirt periodically.
   [Case]
   Keep the moisture and dirt, then it case corrode or rust. It will be lower non water-proof too. Wipe off dirt, using a soft cloth, etc. Do not use any chemical because it may discolor in the case.
   [Metal band]
   Keep the moisture and dirt, then it case corrode or rust. And the bands will be lower the durability, the strength. It soil the cuffs of clothing too. Wipe off dirt, using a soft toothbrush with soap water. Be note do not enter the water to the non water resistant watch.
   [Leather band]
   Keep the moisture and dirt, then it case discolor. And the bands will be lower the durability, the strength. It soil the cuffs of clothing too. Remove moisture and dirt, using a soft dry cloth. Do not rub the leather because this may cause the color to fade. It cause to discolor when lights the strong light and ultraviolet rays.
   [Soft plastic band]
   It is not necessary to take special care of urethane or nylon band. However, since some kind of dirt may irritate the skin, wash the band with fresh or soapy water occasionally. Do not use chemicals that might deteriorate the band, break and crack. Depending on usable years, the material may harden, crack or break. In this case, _ replace it with a new band.

3. Be careful not to bring the case and the band into contact with the mercury (found inside a thermometer) or other chemicals, cosmetics, because they may discolor.

4. Tighten the band so that you can just slip one finger between the band and your wrist, in order to allow air to circulate. Do not store the leather band in high temperature or high humidity conditions.

5. Be careful the case and the band may comes off, drops when the pin used for the joint part of the case, the band and the joint parts pieces of the metallic band rusts. In rare case, you might also be injured.

6. Please stop wearing, in case the case and the band corrodes become sharp or the band pin jump up. And please consult your purchase shop or the Customer Service.

7. Treatment of the rotating bezel
   Your watch has the rotation bezel, that become damaged the watch function in the case, when stock dirt etc, under the rotation bezel. Brush off dirt using a soft toothbrush and keep it clean.

8. Recommended Overhaul

9. We recommend an overhaul which the mechanical watches every two to three years and the analog quartz oscillation watches is every three to four years. It can hold the movement lubrication or liquid leak, dry prevention, abnormal abrasion of the part. It keeps the daily accuracy too. And it can hold the waterproofness when the debased packing replaces, sweat and moisture don’t enter the watch.

10. When do your watch overhaul, contact to your purchase shop or the Repair Service Center. Please specify “genuine parts” and we also recommend replace the packing and spring bar too.

Warranty and service

Make sure to read the warranty card.

1. Warranty
   If the watch fails to operate under normal operation conditions within the warranty period, bring it to the shop in which you purchased it or to Repair Service Center, along with its warranty card. We will repair or adjust your watch while it is under warranty free. Please read the warranty card well, the terms of the warranty are described.

2. Possession periods of parts for repair Normally the repair parts for this watch will be available for seven years after production of the watch is discontinued. Repair parts It is the part of the machine body (a movement) for time functions of the product (a watch) inside.
   Other external parts not directly related to the function, such as the case, crystal, dial, hands, or crown, are not considered repair parts covered under the warranty. Replacement of these non repair parts may use parts different to the originals.

3. Repair period As a rule, your watch repair is possible for the holding period if normal to use. However, the period during which repairs can be made will vary, depending on the operating conditions and environment in which the watch used. In some case,  the precision  cannot be restored by the watch’s condition. Therefore, bring your watch and make sure consult to your purchase shop to determine, when you repairs.

4. Moving and gift item
   If you cannot go to your purchase shop since you moving or present from someone, contact the Customer Service for repairs.
