Introduction

The ACGL-0011DE Smoke detecting alarm is composed of a sophisticated analog circuit and digital circuit It is a low voltage, photoelectric, independent smoke alarm with a 3v lithium manganese battery. The alarm has a low power consumption, and the battery can last for up 10 years.

Activation

  1. Remove the product and detach the base plate by turning anti clockwise

  2. Turn the device over and you will see the battery pin is in the off position (figure 1)

  3. To activate the device, slide the pin back and lock the top into the battery pin groove. (figure 2) The pin should sit flush with the back of the device.

  4. Check the device is activated by checking the alarm indicator light (red LED). This should flash once every 344 seconds (5mins)

Installation

  1. Choose a suitable location to install the alarm. (Do not install alarms in “Dead Zones”. near bathrooms, kitchens or air vents)
  2. Mark out the screw locations using the base plate as a template.
  3. Drill guide holes for the screws.
  4. Insert the plastic lugs into the holes
  5. Affix the base plate to the surface using the screws. Ensure the locking hooks are facing out.
  6. Once the base plate is secured. take the alarm, and align the locking holes with the locking hooks.
  7. To lock the device into place, turn clockwise gently.

Test the device

  1. Press the Test/Hush button. The red LED indicator light will flash quickly. and the alarm will activate. This will show that the alarm is working. The alarm will enter the low sensitivity detection state (red LED flashes once every lOseconds but no alarm is sounding) for about 9 minutes before returning to its normal state.
  2. Use a small amount of smoke to test if the alarm activates under smoke conditions. Once the alarm has activated you can press the hush button to silence the alarm. The alarm will enter the low sensitivity detection state (red LED flashes once. everylOseconds but no alarm is sounding) for about 9 minutes before returning to its normal state. The alarm will not activate again until the smoke concentration is higher.
  3. If you press the Test/Hush button again you will cancel the low sensitivity detection state and the alarm will retttrn to normal mode.
    Note If. after cancelling low sensitivity detection state there is residual smoke in the chamber, the alarm will activate again.

Alarm memory

The ACGL-001PE smoke alarm has an alarm memory which activates after the alarm has been set off. Green LED will flash 3 times, every 13 seconds and repeats every 43 seconds. This is so the user can tell if the alarm has been activated from a distance without touching the alarm. The LED display will deactivate after 24 hours. If you press the test/hush button after the alarm is activated the alarm will go into its special alarm mode. After you release the test/mute button the alarm memory will be purged.

Maintenance

  1. It is recommended by the manufacturer to test the alarm weekly. However. once a month is fine.
  2. Keep the alarm clean by wiping down with a wet wipe. Keep the device free from dust and fly droppings. This should be done regularly
  3. If the alarm is faulty or not working correctly. seek the advice of an installation specialist. (DO NOT dismantle the device)
