DryExpert450W Food Dryer

This household food dehydrator with energy saving design and precision manufacturing is used for making dried fruit without adding any additives, which locks food nutrition and prolongs food storage time, definitely a good helper for healthy eating!
Please carefully read through this manual before using the product.
This product is only used in families or similar places.

Preface

  • Thanks for using Food Dehydrator of our company. For a correct use and maintenance of this product, we prepare this detailed manual for your reference. Please carefully read through this manual before using the product. This manual shall be kept properly for later referral.
  • This applies only to DryExpert450W series of food Dehydrator The manual is for the purpose of operation and maintenance reference only. If any-thing uncovered by this manual, please call to the company service centre. If any defects or inappropriate contents are found, please provide us your valuable suggestions will make us make the product better, making them more popular than ever among our customers.
  • Electrical Dehydrators are home appliances that run unattended, please keep the running time as specified.

Section I Safety Cautions

  1. Check that if the labelled voltage is in consistent with the supply voltage
  2. This product is for home use only. The company will not be liable for any failure or damage caused by the product’s commercial use, inappropriate use or out-of-specification use, and such damage will deem the warranty void.
  3. The socket plugged into must come with ground protection. The plug shall engaged tight, or the loose connection might cause fire. The multi-purpose sockets are not allowed to be used with other appliance.
  4. When unplugging, please hold tight the plug instead of pulling the power cord. Shall the power cord be damaged, please dispose it directly or replace it with a special-made cord by our company.
  5. This product is a long-time running unit, which shall be placed to where children can not reach.
  6. The product shall not be placed to unstable, humid and heat heat-resistantless surface when running, so as to avoid possible damage or failure.
  7. This product is a vented heating unit. During the operation, the bottom of the unit shall be cleared of any objects that might congest the air inlet, otherwise the product may be damaged or risk might occur.
  8. The product shall be keep secured when running. The heat radiation port shall not be covered during operation to avoid any hazard from happening.
  9. The product shall not be placed directly into the fire or near any heat source or ignition source, otherwise the product may be damaged or failed, in worst cases fire and other hazard may occur.
  10. It is not allowed to rinse the product in water. A wet cloth wiping is allowed. The product shall be cooled down to room temperature before any cleaning.
  11. If the product will not be used for some period, please unplug it to avoid a prolong connection of the plug and the socket. Plug shall be pulled out in the following conditions: failure, cleaning, servicing.
  12. Do not use water as extinguishing agent when the product catches on fire. Please cover the portion on fire with wet cloth.
  13. If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by designated servicing personnel or equivalent so as to avoid any danger from happening.

DO NOT USE THE PRODUCT if any of the following occurs!!!

  1. The product or power cord is damaged
  2. The product falls accidentally, causing abnormal condition to the product. If any of the above happens, please return the product to our service centre. Original parts shall be used.

Section III Product Operation and Caution

I. Operation

  1. The Dehydrator tray shall be clean and wiped by cloth for initial use.

  2. The pre-treated food is placed on each tray; the trays are then put on the unit housing
    and close the cap.

  3. Introduction to panel operation and display screen
    Power Key , Start/Pause Key , Set Key , Time , Temperature , Bell , Warning Bell (Buzzing alarm sign), 3 Wavy Lines (Heating sign)

  4. Power on; Insert the power cord plug into the socket, turn on the power and press the power key. Time , Temperature , Bell , Warn Bell (Buzzing alarm sign) and 3 Wavy Lines (Heating sign) will be shown on the display screen.

  5. Press set key the first time, time start flash, the default time is 10:00h. Increase or decrease time by pressing the arrow direction through the knob. Each increase or decrease time is 30 minutes. After increase time up to 24:00h, time will turn to 01:00 hour directly. After decreased time up to 01:00 h, time will turn to 24:00h directly. The longest time is 24:00h and the shortest time is 01:00 h.

  6. Press set key the second time, temperature start flash, the default temperature is 45°C Increase or decrease temperature by pressing the arrow direction through the knob. Each time temperature can increase or decrease 5°C, after temperature increasing up to 70°Q it will turn to 35°C directly. After temperature decreasing up to 35°Q it will turn to 70°Cdirectly. The Highest temperature is 70°Cand the lowest temperature is 35°C.

  7. After the power on, press power key one time, Heating sign start flash, indicating the heating element start work, machine is going to access heating up mode. Heating symbol can flash while products are heating up until the first time products reaching set temperature. Thereafter it can stop flashing till the end.

  8. The default mode of bell is on alarm when starting up machine. Bell will alarm when setting program is finished. The alarm sound is Di, Di, Di. User also can set bell on mute mode .
    8-1) Press “Set” button for 3 seconds, product will access mute mode. LCD display will show symbol, when setting program is finished, product will not have alarm sound.
    8-2) Again press “Set” button for 3 seconds, the mute mode is cancelled. The mute bell is replaced by alarm bell .

  9. Start/Pause
    9-1)Press Start/Pause key one time, machine starts working, motor starts work first, 2 seconds later heating element starts working. Only heating symbol on LCD display is flashing when machine works, other symbols don’t flash.
    9-2)Press Start/Pause key two times, machine stops working, heating element stops working first, motor still works until 2 seconds later. Machine accesses stand by mode, heating sign starts flash. Again press set key, machine recover start mode. Only heating symbol continues flash until reaching the set temperature.

  10. When setting time is over, program will close heating element first, motor will continue to work, 2 seconds later motor will stop working. Meantime products will get out alarm sound for 5 times. Each alarm sounds 10 seconds apart. Alarm sound is DI, DI, DI. Only time flashes on LCD display, other symbols don’t flash. After time flash 1 minute, program will close power supply, LCD display will change to black screen state. When the time reaches zero, the food does not reach the ideal taste or drying degree, and the above operation can be repeated.

  11. When the food is dried or the machine stops working as scheduled, turn off the power and unplug the product

  12. Clean the tray and juice tray after work

II. Points for attention

  1. The maximum service time should not exceed 72 hours each time to avoid affecting the service life of the whole machine.
  2. Turn off the power switch and unplug the product after each use.
  3. When power is on and the product is normally used, the operation panel will light up and other components like fan will be in working order while there is obvious wind blowing out at the side of the front lap
  4. This product cannot be added with water or any other liquids. But It is allowed to have a small amount of water drops on the food in the tray.
  5. Please keep the hot air in the machine flowing naturally when drying. Do not put over heavy food on the tray, and do not overlap the food. The drying time is different for different foods(Note: When the machine starts to work, if there is not enough time to dry the food in one day, it can be dried in the next day. In this case, please use containers or plastic bags to seal the food that has not been dried)
  6. The temperature on the tray is the highest when the product is working, so as to make the food drying more uniform; The tray position shall be changed regularly
  7. After the food is dried, if it is not eaten right away, the dried food should be sealed with containers or plastic bags and stored in the refrigerator.
  8. After the product is used, it is recommended to place all trays on the product, regardless of whether there is food in the tray
  9. Please pre treat the food before drying; Such as cleaning, slicing or cutting, soaking, etc. Food pretreatment helps to preserve the colour and taste of food after drying

Section IV Process before Food Drying

A. Pretreatment of fruits

  1. 1/4 glass of juice plus 2 glass of water, all food to be dried shall be dipped for around 2 minutes. ( Note: To combine juice and food, such as the apple juice plus the apple)

B. Pretreatment of vegetables

  1. Steaming, boiling water or oil. Recommended for beam, cauliflower, asparagus and potato.
  2. The prepared vegetables are placed into boiling water for around 3-5 minutes. Screen out water and put into the tray.
  3. The vegetables are dipped into lemon juice for around 2 minutes.

C. Pretreatment of meat and fish

  1. Muscle (without fat): pickled to reserve the meet before drying, making it tender. The pickle shall be salted to remove the moisture and keep the meat fresh.
    Salting standard:
    1/2 glass of bean sausage, 1 garlic pounded; 2 spoon of brown sugar; 2 spoon of tomato sausage, 1/2 cup of Worcestershire sauce; 1 –1/4 tea spoon of salt, 1/2 tea spoon of onion powder, 1/2 tea spoon of pepper, all mixed up.
    The meat is stripped to cubic and put into the unit. The time is set to 2 – 8 hours until all moisture vaporized.

  2. Poultry meat:
    All poultry meat shall be boiled before drying process. The best way is to steam or roast. The drying time is set to 2 – 8 hours until all moisture vaporized.

  3. Fish:
    It is recommended to steam or roast the fish (in oven for 200 C of roasting, 20 minutes).
    The drying time is set to 2 – 8 hours until all moisture vaporized.

D. Vanilla
Wipe excessive water, and remove the bad leaf. The vanilla is distributed onto the tray.
The time setting is different based on the kind, it take s around 2 – 6 hours for drying.
E. Bread
Sliced (peeled). Scattered onto the tray, and dry for around 30 minute -2 hours.
F. Nut
Shell peeling and cleaned with hot water. Scatter onto the tray. The nuts are freezing stored. The oil content in the nuts may lead to some rotten flavour, so they must be stored in the refrigerator for freshness. When needed, the nuts are taken out and placed in room temperature; the drying time is around 18 – 26 hours.

Section V Cleaning and Maintenance

  1. Unplug all power source of the Dehydrator before cleaning.

  2. At the end of the food drying, the tray shall be washed with warm water and soft cloth.
    Clean the them with agents if necessary and wipe dried.

  3. It is prohibited to use water flow for cleaning the electric Dehydrator or submerge the housing for cleaning. Dirty bottom of the Dehydrator can be cleaned with wet wipes.

  4. Abrasive detergent, metal brush or organic solvent are prohibited.

  5. The cleaned product shall be stored at cool and vented place.
