Important safety information

Please read this manual carefully before using the appliance for the first time and keep it for future reference.

WARNING – Keep ventilation openings, in the appliance enclosure or in the built-in structure, clear of obstruction. For optimal ventilation, allow space of approx. 8 cm to other objects, furniture, or walls.

WARNING – When positioning the appliance, ensure the supply cord is not trapped or damaged.
WARNING – Do not locate multiple portable socket-outlets or portable power supplies at the rear of the appliance.
WARNING – Do not use sharp or metal objects in the mixing container. They might scratch it. Use plastic or wooden scrapers to remove the ingredients from the container.

Intended use

This appliance is intended solely for crushing, mixing, and pureeing food. It should not be used to process other substances or objects.

Safety information

  • Never dunk the device, device connector, or cable into water or another liquid and protect from humidity.
  • Caution! When filling hot liquids into the mixing container, splattering or hot steam may occur
  • The appliance can cause injury when used incorrectly and should be used with caution when using the blades, emptying the container, and during cleaning.
  • Do not reach into the device during operation!
  • Never insert body parts or metallic objects into ventilation slots, there is a risk of injury.
  • After unpacking the appliance, check that it is in perfect condition and has not sustained any damage that could impair its functional safety. Should you notice any defects or if the appliance has fallen on the floor, do not attempt to use it, but call our customer service.
  • Improper repairs can lead to hazards for the user and the warranty may be deemed void. If individual parts are damaged, they must be replaced by the manufacturer, an authorized specialist company, or a similarly qualified person.
  • The appliance is only suitable for for crushing, mixing, and pureeing food. Do not place any other items inside.
  • Store the appliance out of the reach of children.
  • Children under the age of 12 should be kept away from the appliance or kept under constant supervision.
  • Children aged 12 and above or persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental abilities or who lack experience and/or knowledge should only use the appliance if it is in its intended, normal operational position, and if they are supervised or have been instructed in the safe use of the appliance and have understood the hazards involved. Children aged 8 and above should neither plug in nor clean or service the appliance. The appliance is not a toy. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
  • Position the appliance on a free and level surface.
  • The appliance is only intended for use in the household or other similar uses such as
  • in kitchenettes in shops, offices, or other workplaces, on farms,
  • for use by guests in accommodation establishments (hotels, motels) private guest houses, or holiday homes.
  • Do not fill above the indicated maximum level.
  • Use the appliance only after proper assembly.
  • The appliance may only be used with original accessories.
  • Connect the appliance only to alternating current as indicated on the type plate. Connect the mains plug only to an earthed socket.
  • Uncoil the power cable completely before use.
  • Disconnect the mains plug as soon as you have finished using the appliance. Do not pull the power cable itself, as it could cause damage.
  • Switch off the machine before plugging in or unplugging it.
  • The appliance must not be operated with an external timer or a separate remote control system.
  • Always disconnect the mains plug after use, before cleaning, or in the event of possible malfunctions during operation.
  • The appliance is not dishwasher dishwashersafe. Removable parts can be cleaned in the dishwasher.
  • Never place or use the appliance and power cable on or near a hot surface.
  • The cable must not hang over the edge of the work surface.
  • Do not use the appliance outdoors.
  • Switch off the appliance and disconnect it from the power supply before changing accessories or approaching moving parts.

Advice: protection from overheating

  • The built-in overheat protection monitors the motor temperature and signals incorrect operation. If need be, the overheat protection shuts down the motor. Set the speed dial to position “OFF”. The device can first be operated after the motor has cooled down.
  • If the overheat protection signals multiple temperature faults, this might be the result of the consistency or filling level of the ingredients. Attempt to reduce the filling volume or to dilute the contents by adding liquids.

Before first use

  • Remove all parts related to packaging and transport safety. Make sure that these parts are also kept away from children – they pose a risk of suffocation!

  • Before initial operation and after prolonged periods of non-use, Hanno should be cleaned. When doing so, please make sure to note our instructions on cleaning and care.

  • Place the appliance on a level and dry surface.

  • Ensure that the sealing rings on the lid are properly situated.

  • Ensure the the lid is properly locked in place before you place the container on the motor block.

  • When locked into the jar handle, the lid only could be taken off from the jar when the jar is taken down from the motor base.

  • Do not try to open the lid, when the jar is still on the motor base. This will damage the lip safety locking system.

  1. Prepare your ingredients following the recipe. Particularly heavy or hard ingredients should first be chopped up before adding them to the mixing container.
  2. Place the appliance on a level and dry surface and insert the plug into the socket.
  3. Place the container on the motor base. Ensure that it is correctly secured. To activate the security mode, the handle needs to be positioned to the front right when putting on the container; otherwise, the device cannot start.
  4. Remove the lid and add your ingredients to the container. We recommend adding solid ingredients first and liquid ingredients afterwards.
  5. Make sure that you do not exceed the max. filling level.
  6. Place the lid on the container and press it down to secure it onto the container. The security contact will not be activated otherwise.
  7. Connect the power plug to the connector.
  8. To start the high-performance blender, set the speed using the controller dial. Select the switch control to start the high-performance blender. Attention: The high-performance blender only works if the controller dial is initially set to “OFF”. Dial the controller dial back to “OFF” if the mixer does not start operation.
  9. Set the controller dial to automatic function (MODE) to select between the functions “Pulse”, “Crushed Ice”, “Smoothie”, and “Grinding”. The button you pressed lights up and the selected programme starts. Pressing the button again stops the programme and all four buttons will light up again. You can now select a new function.
  10. You can measure and add further ingredients during operation through the small opening in the lid, using the removeable measuring cup with 65 ml filling volume.
  11. Let the motor wind down completely before removing the mixing container. Never remove it from the base while the blender is still in operation or while the motor is still running.
  12. If you are finished using the blender, unplug the device and clean the container and individual parts.

Speed controller
The speed controller stops the blender or restores the rotation speed.

Important: The device can only be operated if the controller is initially set to position “OFF”.

Automatic functions (MODE)

  • When the knob is on “MODE”, screen will be illuminated. Showing the time and functions.
  • Briefly touching the desired function key will cause it to light up and start. The remaining time is shown in the middle of the display. Touching the key again will stop the mix function, and all the function keys will light up again.
  • “P (Pulse)” mode will stop at once when your finger is removed from the button
  1. Pulse function (P)
    In the Pulse function (P) mode, the device operates at maximum speed. Press the “P” button to mix.

  2. Smoothie function
    The high-performance blender starts automatically: The speed increases for 20 seconds, from slow to fast – three times within one minute.

  3. Crushed ice function
    The high-performance blender will start automatically: The blender will crush the ice in intervals with short pauses in between. The entire operation lasts 20 seconds. Use ice that is smaller than 2 cm.

  4. Grinding function
    The high-performance blender starts automatically: Speed will increase till to max speed, will stop by itself.

Stepless speed control
Turn the control knob from level MIN to level MAX to get different speeds.

  • High speed: turn the controller dial to “MAX”.
  • Low speed: turn the controller dial to “MIN”.

Auto-clean function
This clean mode helps cleaning out sticky food inside the jar. Detergent can be used when necessary.

  • To avoid overflowing, the container should only be filled with max. 800 ml of water.
  • Turn the knob into this location, the blender will be working with clean mode.
  • After machine stop, wash the jar again simply again with water.

Using accessory 944047/944049

To-go mixing bottle

  1. Fill the mixing bottle with ingredients up to max. 400 ml.
  2. Place the mixing lid on the bottle and screw it on tightly so that it is secure.
  3. Turn the bottle around and set it on the motor block. Turn the bottle clockwise in order to secure it.
  4. Insert the power plug into a socket and turn on Hanno. Use the smoothie program or select the speed yourself using the speed control. Use the mixing bottle for a maximum of 1 minute at the highest speed.
  5. Remove the mixing bottle only once the motor has stopped spinning. Rotate the bottle counterclockwise and take it off. Turn the bottle around and let it sit briefly so that as much liquid as possible can drip from the lid.
  6. Unscrew the mixing lid and pour your drink into another container or use the drinking lid in order to drink directly from the bottle.

Stainless steel mixing container

  1. Fill the mixing container up to half full with ingredients.
  2. Lock the lid by turning it clockwise after setting it on the container.
  3. Set the mixing container on the motor block and turn it clockwise until it is secure.
  4. Insert the power plug into a socket and turn on Hanno. Use the grind program or select the speed yourself using the speed controller. Use the container for a maximum of 1 minute at the highest speed.
  5. To remove the mixing container, first open the lid and then unscrew the mixing container.

Cleaning and care

The container should be cleaned and dried as follows after each use. Not (properly) cleaning the high-performance mixer might impair its functionality.

  1. Clean the container by filling it with 800 ml of warm water and a few drops of a mild dish soap. Close the container with the lid and set the controller to “Clean.” The program will start automatically and run as follows: 1 minute, 9 times in the pulse function and then it will continue operating at medium speed. Remove the container from the motor block and then rinse it out. Repeat the process, if required.
  2. Before cleaning, switch off the device and disconnect the plug from the connector.
  3. Never dunk the housing of the motor base into water.
  4. Do not use scratching or abrasive cleaning agents.
  5. Only wipe off the housing with a moist cloth.
  6. Do not attempt to remove the cutting blades from the mixer container in order to clean them. This might cause the mixer container to leak.
  7. Remove the container from the motor base and remove any remaining foodstuffs from the container. Pay attention to not injure yourself on the blades when cleaning.
  8. Clean removable plastic parts on the top shelf of a dishwasher and use a programme with at most 60 °C to keep them from losing their shape. Make sure that the plastic part is not jammed.
  9. Allow the container and individual parts to dry properly before reassembling.

Trouble shooting

If the device does not work properly, please check the following steps:

  1. Check if the manual was followed precisely and correctly.
  2. Check the following table for possible reasons.
  3. Check if all fuses are working.

The operating buttons do not light up, the device does not work.

| •       Place the mixing container onto the motor head and plug the power cable into the socket.

•       Press the container down again to reactivate the security switch.

•       Ensure that the lid of the accessory and the accessory itself is properly locked in place before

you place the container on the motor block.

•       Turn back the dial controller to position “OFF”.

Continue with the desired speed/functions.

The device stops after a longer period of mixing.

| •       The overload protector protects the motor from damage.

•       Unplug the power cable and let the high- performance blender cool down for 30 min. before

connecting It again.

The resulting mixture is not fine enough.

| •       The blender can be overloaded by too many or too large ingredients. Try again with a smaller portion and mix multiple portions if needed.

•       Ingredients should be chopped into pieces no larger

than 2 cm.

Ingredients stick to the container or do not reach the cutting blades.

| •       The ingredients might be too large, causing the ingredients to stick. Ingredients should be chopped into pieces no larger than 2 cm.

•       If necessary, you can set the controller dial to minimum speed and use a plunger to press the ingredients down towards the cutting blades.

•       The mixture might be too dry. Add more liquid.

Ice is not chopped up

Should your Hanno have any other defects, please contact our customer service. Do not attempt to repair the appliance yourself.

  • Our products are manufactured to high quality standards and are designed for a long service life.
  • Regular maintenance and care will help to extend service life. If the appliance is defective and can no longer be repaired, it must not be disposed of in the normal household waste.
  • Take the appliance to a designated disposal point for recycling electrical or electronic equipment. Through professional disposal and recycling you make an important contribution to protecting our environment.

In principle, our products have a legal warranty duty of 2 years. Further claims can only be processed in conjunction with a proof of purchase. Wearing parts exclude any warranty claims, when usual abrasion has occurred. The durability is determined by the respective handling and use of the products and is thus variable.
