Safety Instructions
a. General
- Never use the pressure cooker when children are nearby.
- Only use the pressure cooker for the purposes described in the instruction sheet.
- Do not use the pressure cooker in the oven. The handles, valves, and safety mechanisms could be damaged by the high temperatures.
- Do not deep-fry food in the pressure cooker.
- If you want to brown the meat before cooking, you can use the pressure cooker like any
- ther saucepan, therefore you should use the glass lid. Add the required amount of liquid just before closing the pressure cooker lid.
- Only use in household.
- Do not use for medical purposes, e. g. not as sterilizers
b. Before use
- Before each use, make sure that the valves, gaskets and safety mechanisms work properly. This is the only way to guarantee a safe use. See details for examination under point 2. Safety mechanisms.
- No modifi cations may be carried out on the pressure cooker (especially on the safety mechanisms) other than the ones which are described in the instruction sheet. Do not oil or grease the valves. Repairs may only be carried out by qualifi ed specialists.
- Do not combine this pressure cooker with components of other competitors.
- Only use original spare parts. Regularly replace parts showing signs of wear, such as the silicone gasket (9). Parts that have split or show signs of damage must be replaced immediately.
- Do not use the pressure cooker if the cooker itself or parts of it are damaged.
c. While using
- The cooker is under pressure when in use. Improper use can result in burns. Make sure that the cooker is properly closed before using it. Never use the pressure cooker with the lid placed slack on top of it. See details for closing the lid correctly under point 3. Pressure cooking
- that’s so simple.
- Only use the stove types that are described in this instruction sheet.
- Make sure that the pressure cooker contains liquid before you heat it up. Ensure that the liquid does not completely evaporate. Otherwise the food may burn and the pressure cooker or stove may be damaged. In case of extreme overheating, plastic parts or the aluminium can melt. In this case, turn off the stove immediately and do not move the cooker until it has cooled down completely. Air the kitchen.
- Do not fill the pressure cooker to more than 2/3 of its capacity. When cooking food that expands as it cooks, such as rice, cereals or dried vegetables, do not fill the pressure cooker to a maximum of half its capacity.
- Never leave your pressure cooker unattended. Regulate the heat when the red safety valve (4) becomes visible. Otherwise the liquid in the cooker will be reduced very fast. The cooking times are affected. If all of the liquid should be vaporized, the food may burn and the cooker may be damaged.
- Move the pressure cooker very carefully when it is under pressure. Do not touch the hot surfaces of the pressure cooker, but only the handles and buttons. If necessary, use pot holders.
d. While opening
- Never try to open the pressure cooker with force when it is under pressure. Do not open it before you are certain that it has fully depressurized. See details for depressurize the pressure cooker perfectly under point 4. Proper steam release and opening, method 1 – 3.
- Always shake the pressure cooker carefully before you open it, to make sure that pockets of steam will not spit and scald you. This is especially important for quick steam release with the steam control valve or if you cool down the cooker under cold running water.
- Always keep your hands, head and body out of the danger zone when depressurizing the pressure cooker by using the steam control valve or by cooling the pressure cooker down under cold running water. The escaping steam could cause burns.
- If you want to reclose the pressure cooker after opening, put the steam control valve (3) at the sign . Only if the lid is firmly closed put it at the sign .
e. Important information concerning food
- Do not cook apples or stewed fruits in the pressure cooker. Pockets of steam can form under the skin. When opening the cooker they can spit and cause burns.
- Please note that if you cook meat with skin, it can swell when under pressure. Do not pierce the meat as long as the skin is swollen, as this could result in burns.
- Prick sausages with artificial casing several times before cooking, so that the skin cannot burst and cause burns.
- Excessively foaming food such as legumes firstly cook with an open lid and skim off the foam. Afterwards the lid can be closed. Please fill the pressure cooker to a maximum of half its capacity.
- When cooking doughy food, shake the pressure cooker carefully before opening to release steam pockets that may have formed.
Improve safety mechanisms
This pressure cooker is equipped with various safety mechanisms. Each time
before using the pressure cooker, check the following steps to ensure that the
safety mechanisms work properly. Never modify them in any way.
Before cooking make sure that the valves, the gasket and the lid handles fit
properly and firmly.
– (3) Steam control valve
Check unobstructed mobility of the control valve (from to ).
– (4) Safety valve
Check the safety valve for cleanness by holding the lid in the daylight and
looking through the valve. If the valve is soiled, clean it with a small brush
or pipe-cleaner (picture C).
– (9 + 11) Silicone gasket und safety window
Make sure that the silicone gasket and the rim of the lid are clean. Before
each use check the silicone gasket for damages. After that insert the silicone
gasket so that it lies completely flat in the lid.
The safety window is additionally added in the lid rim. In case of too high
pressure in the pot the silicone gasket pushes itself outwards so that the
steam can escape.
Tip: We recommend spreading water or cooking oil on the silicone gasket so that the lid can easily be put on the pressure cooker.
– (5) Release button
Before each use press the release button and turn the lid counter-clockwise to
check if the pressure cooker can be opened. Pay attention that the arrows on
the lid and the body handle are opposite each other. Only then the cooker can
be opened (figure A + B).
Pressure cooking – that’s so simple
- a. Fill the pressure cooker with the desired food and needed liquid. Please note the following volumes (both together: food and liquid):
- Add at least 1/4 litre
- Fill the pressure cooker to a maximum of 2/3 of its capacity
- Volume of content should not exceed 1/2 of the pressure cooker’s capacity for foods which increase in volume or produce large amount of foam as for example: rice, cereals, dried vegetables.
b. Insert the silicone gasket (9) so that it lies completely flat in the
lid.
Hold the body handle (7) with your left hand, and with your right hand place
the pressure cooker lid (1) on the pressure cooker. When putting on the lid
please pay attention that the arrows on the lid and the body handle are
opposite each other (figure A). Pull the lid clock- wise in the direction
of the body handle until the release button (5) locks audibly with a clicking
sound (figure B).
Pay attention that the steam control valve (3) is positioned at .
c. Turn the steam control valve (3) to and place the pressure cooker on
the stove.
Set your stove at the highest cooking level. If the pressure in the pressure cooker increases, the red safety valve (4) becomes visible and a slight sizzle is audible. From now the pressure cooker cannot be opened anymore. It takes a few minutes until pressure cooker reaches the cooking temperature **(figure D
- E).**
Now reduce the heat by setting the hotplate to a lower level. This saves energy and avoids fast vaporization of the liquid in the cooker.
Please note the following points:
- If the heat is not regulated, the steam will escape from the steam control valve (3). This causes the fast reduction of the liquid in the pressure cooker. The cooking times are reduced. If all of the liquid is evaporated the food may burn and the pressure cooker may be damaged. Avoid this by reducing the heat setting immediately.
- If the heat is regulated too much/ is set too low the pressure in the pressure cooker will decrease slowly and the safety valve (4) will sink. This extends the cooking time.
Proper steam release and opening
Attention:
Never try to open the pressure cooker with force. The pressure cooker can only
be opened if the internal pressure is completely decreased. This is shown by
the red safety valve (4) which has entirely sunk back into the lid.
Release the steam by using one of the following 3 opportunities.
Before each opening shake the pressure cooker carefully to release steam
pockets that may have formed. Repeat the steam release once again.
As soon as the pressure cooker is not under pressure anymore you can push the
release button (5) and open the cooking pot.
Method 1: Cooling down
Shortly before the end of cooking time, take the pressure cooker from the
stove and let it cool down. When the red safety valve (4) is entirely sunk,
push carefully the release button (5) to let the remaining pressure escape. As
soon as no steam escapes anymore, release the button and shake the pressure
cooker cautiously. The pressure can increase once more and the red safety
valve can become visible again. Wait until it has sunk again and push the
release button one more time. Repeat this step until no more steam escapes. By
keeping the release button (5) pressed, you can open the pressure cooker.
Tip: We recommend this method for food with longer cooking time and foaming food. Boiled potatoes also should be cooled down like this. Other methods easily can let them burst.
Method 2: Slow pressure reduction with steam control valve Turn the steam
control valve (3) at . The steam now escapes from the steam control valve.
Leave the steam control valve in this position until the pressure is
completely released.
Attention: The escaping steam is very hot! (fi gure F)
When the red safety valve is entirely sunk, push carefully the release button (5) to let the remaining pressure escape. As soon as no steam escapes anymore, release the button and shake the pressure cooker cautiously. The pressure can increase once more and the red safety valve can become visible again. Wait until it has sunk again and push the release button one more time. Repeat this step until no more steam escapes. By keeping the release button (5) pressed, you can open the pressure cooker.
Method 3: Fast pressure reduction under running water
If the oozing steam of method 2 bothers you, place the pressure cooker in the
sink and let cold water running over the lid (not over the lid handle and the
steam control function) until the red safety valve (4) has sunk completely
(figure G).
Now push carefully the release button (5) to let the remaining pressure escape. As soon as no steam escapes anymore, release the button and shake the pressure cooker cautiously. The pressure can increase once more and the red safety valve can become visible again. Cool down the lid once again until the red safety valve has sunk again. Then push the release button one more time. By keeping the release button (5) pressed, you can open the pressure cooker.
Before first use
It is imperative to check your cookware before the first use for possible material residues, especially at the bottom of the cookware. Now and then in production, material particles such as small metal splinters may appear that remain on the cookware. Please remove them in order to avoid possible scratches.
Clean your cookware before first use with a soft cloth or sponge, a little water and a mild washing-up liquid, and cleanse with boiling water 2 – 3 times. Using a paper towel, spread some cooking oil on the coating (you do not have to use fat or oil the next time it is used).
When cooking on a glass ceramic hob, ensure that there are no particles of dirt between the bottom of the pot and the hob, since these could scratch the hob surface. Do not slide your cookware on the hob and always lift it to move it. We can assume no liability for damage that occurs for the reasons mentioned.
In order to ensure good heat transfer, always place the cookware centrally on the hotplate. If possible, use the heat stored in your cookware and reduce the energy input.
During cooking or roasting
Use only kitchen gadgets and cooking utensils made of plastic, wood or silicone to stir or remove the cooked or fried food. Never use metal utensils or sharp or pointed objects. This preserves the quality of the non-stick coating for as long as possible. Also note that at increased temperatures, coated surfaces are softer and therefore more susceptible to damage.
Do not use any electrical appliances such as mixers or blenders in your cookware, otherwise the non-stick coating will be damaged.
Avoid overheating, e. g. by boiling dry, through the use of unsuitable oil or fat, and always be aware that stove and ceramic hobs can reach temperatures of up to 300 °C and more when operating at full capacity. Should fat overheat and ignite, never use water to extinguish the flames, use a blanket or a metal lid.
When cooking with induction cookers, the liquid contained in the food evaporates extremely fast due to the speed at which it heats up. Prevent your pots from boiling dry by always supervising the cooking process. When used on induction hotplates, unusual humming sounds can occur due to the electromagnetic properties of the induction stove.
After use
Let your cookware cool before attempting to clean it. Never pour cold water in
your hot cookware, as the coating may otherwise develop hairline cracks.
Do not shock the hot glass lid with cold water, but allow it to cool
beforehand.
Coated cookware and cookware with an induction base belongs in the dishwasher only in exceptional cases because the aggressive cleaning agents can penetrate into the smallest scratches in the coatings, and destroy it over time. Induction bases will particularly corrode and in the worst case scenario can even peel off the cookware. Thanks to the “Easy Clean Effect”, we recommend to simply wipe out the cookware with a cloth and hot water or clean by hand with a small amount of a mild detergent.
Do not put the pressure cooker lid and the silicone gasket in the dishwasher but only clean them by hand.
Please never use steel wool or abrasive scouring agents to clean. If food particles are stuck, loosen them by soaking or boiling briefly.
Mounting of the steam control valve and handles
Steam control valve (3):
For removal turn the screw inside the lid counterclockwise. Now you can pull
the steam control valve out upwards manually. For mounting place the steam
control valve into the proper position in the lid and tighten it firmly.
Handles (2 + 7 + 8):
Tighten the screws from time to time.
Storage and maintenance
Storage of the silicone gasket:
The silicone gasket should be stored in a dark (protected from sunlight and UV
radiation), dry and clean place.
Tip: The silicone gasket will last longer if you place the lid with inserted gasket upside down on top of the cooker after cleaning.
Maintenance
The parts of the pressure cooker that are subject to wear must be replaced regularly.
The statutory warranty is limited to normal use (non-commercial use). It does not cover damage caused by misuse/ improper use, like for example:
-
Damage caused by neglect, remaining oil/ fat on the hob and bottom of the pot
-
Damage due to overheating or boiling dry (formation of tar)
-
Damage due to scratching with unsuitable cooking utensils made of metal such as pointed or sharp-edged knives, forks, mixers or blenders
-
Damage from abrasive cleaners in dishwashers

Cooking times – Guidelines:
Food| Amount of water in litre (food : water)|
Cooking times minutes
---|---|---
Beef| 1/2| approx. 15 – 20
Spare Ribs| 1/2| approx. 8 – 12
Chicken| 1/2| approx. 8 – 10
Fish| 1/3| approx. 2 – 4
Lamb| 1/2| approx. 8 – 12
Corn| 2/3| approx. 5 – 8
Sweet potato| 2/3| approx. 5 – 8
Rice| 1/4| approx. 4 – 6
Porridge| 1/3| approx. 8 – 10
Beans| 1/4| approx. 12 – 16
These cooking times are guidelines. As form and nature of the same food can
vary, the cooking times
can change from time to time. Example: You want to cook 500 g potatoes. As a
guidline for potatoes you can use a ratio of 2 to 3, e.g. you add 750 ml of
water. Do not fill the pressure cooker to more than 2/3 of its capacity. The
cooking times depend on your own personal taste. However you should rather
boil the food less than too much, because excessively cooked food never
becomes crisp again. Therefore choose shorter cooking times until you got
familiar to the pressure cooker. Subsequent cooking is easily done.
