Product Information

The Cockpit Tent XL is a versatile and durable canopy designed to provide protection and comfort in various weather conditions. It is compatible with different boat models and comes with a complete set of fittings and frames for easy installation.

Mounting Instructions

Before you start, make sure you have the necessary tools and components:

Mounting templates (thin white paper)
Tape
Pen
Drill
Sikaflex (adhesive)
Screws
Support poles
Canvas

Follow these steps to mount the Cockpit Tent XL:

Place the mounting templates on the deck, aligning them with the deck layout and other details indicated on the templates. Use tape to secure them if needed.
Use a pen to mark the hole positions for the fittings on the templates. Note that there might be markings for both the sprayhood and tent on the same template.
Flip the template upside down and repeat the marking process on the starboard/port side of the boat.
Drill most of the holes, keeping in mind that the front fittings of the tent can be drilled and attached when the tent is mounted for a better fit.
Counterbore all holes to ensure the gelcoat remains solid when tightening the screws.
Apply Sikaflex adhesive to all holes.
Attach the fittings on deck, paying attention to the difference between Plastknapp (PK) and other fittings.
Mount the frames into their respective fittings, ensuring they are positioned correctly before tightening the screws. It is recommended to have someone assist you in holding the frames during this process.
Take the canvas and attach the sides and rear pieces according to the provided instructions. Tighten any straps on the inside and readjust the position of the support poles for proper canvas mounting.

Before you start

In your package there are mounting templates in thin white paper, which is packed together with the canvas. On the templates, there are abbreviations for different fittings you might need depending on your boat model. Below are pictures showing the fittings and the ones you need for your specific canopy is packed in a plastic bag together with the frames $KAPELL-ANNAT-XL-Talt- Cockpit-Tent-FIG- $1$$

Put the templates on deck in line with the deck layout an other details drawn on the templates. Attach them with tape if needed.
Use the pen to mark where holes for the fittings should be. OBS! Sometimes there are markings for both sprayhood and tent in the same template. Please see next page for definitions.
Flip the template up-side-down and do the same thing on starboard/port side of the boat.
Drill most of the holes. Tip: the front fittings of the tent can be drilled and attached when the tent is mounted for better fit.
Counterbore all holes. Please note that this is very important to make sure that the gelcoat stays solid when tightening the screw.
Put sikaflex in all holes.
Attach the fittings on deck. Observe the difference between Lång Norsk Knapp (”L”) och Plastknapp (”PK”).
Mount the frames in its fittings. Observe how the frames should be standing before tightening the screws. Use someones help to holdthe frames, make this a lot easier.
Take the canvas and do the following:
Mount the roof and attach the front part to the sprayhood.
Tighten the canvas backwards using the straps. Make sure the straps are attached to the frame in the pre-cut holes in the frame tunnel of the canvas (see picture previous side). Observe that tents with support poles does not have straps.
If your frame has supportpoles, detach them to help the canvas find its right position.
Attach the sides and rear pieces. Tighten eventual straps on the inside and readjust support poles position when canvas is properly mounted. $KAPELL-ANNAT-XL-Talt-Cockpit-Tent-FIG- $2$$
