BBQ METHODS
DIRECT GRILLING
Direct grilling means that you cook on top of the glowing charcoal. This alternative is suitable for food with a cooking time less than 30 minutes. In order to get an even cooking result, we recommend that you turn the food after half the cooking time.
Open the air choke in the bottom of the bbq and follow the lighting instructions in the manual. When the charcoal gets a grey cover of ashes, spread out the pile to an even layer over the complete grillgrid by using a long bbq tool. Then place the food on the grillgrid on top of the charcoal layer, see figure 1.
INDIRECT GRILLING
This method is to prefer when the cooking time is longer than 30 minutes and works more like an oven where the heat slowly and evenly circulates around the food without having to turn it around.
Open the air choke in the bottom of the bbq and follow the lighting instruction in the manual. When the charcoal gets a grey cover of ashes, move the pile to both side of the charcoal grid and then place the food on the middle of the grillgrid, see figure 2. Open the air vent on the lid and place the lid on the bbq. For food requesting cooking longer than 1 hour you can easily adda a smaller quantity of charcoal on each side in order to maintain en even cooking temperature.
AFTER USAGE
Let the bbq get completely cold and then empty the remaining ashes in a metal bucket with airtight lid. Never dump the ashes directly into a garbage bin or similar as the ashes can still be glowing unvisible. If you want to end the usage before the charcoal has burnt down you can put the lid on and close all air vents. Never leave the bbq without supervision until it is completely cold. The bbq must be completely shut down and cold before you put it away for storage.
CLEANING/MAINTENANCE
- *Let the bbq cool down completely before cleaning.
-
- Brush the grids with a bbq brush, clean with water and mild detergent.
- *Clean the bbq with water and mild detergent, rinse it carefully in order not to leave any scrapings behind.
- *Wipe all parts completely dry with paper towel, don’t leave the bbq to dry on its own.
- *Make sure that the entire bbq is dry before you put it away for storage.
- *Store the bbq under a protective cover and in a dry place.
